  1. ❆ Ivori Winter Festival ❆ Published by Her Grace, Venetia Keen, Lady-Mother of Ivoria Issued on the 6th of Sigismund’s End, In the year of our Lord 2005 BY GOD’S GRACE, The Winterwunder festival is a heartwarming celebration of the winter season, uniting Ivöri families in joyous camaraderie. The event transforms the town into a winter wonderland, with stalls adorned in twinkling lights, offering hot fondue, spiced cider, and traditional winter dishes like ironpot barley stew and roasted chestnuts. All are welcome to revel in these delights, especially foreigners. Starting on December 15 and running through December 22, the streets of Gottenthal will be adorned in celebration. Market stalls will be tax-free throughout the entire event. From 6:00 PM to midnight each day, carnival games and township-wide festivities will take place. In addition, special traditions will be observed each day, as outlined below. Join us for several nights of winter fun, with activities ranging from wrestling matches and ice skating competitions to art expeditions and festival games. [Location: Gottenthal, directly in front of the Lowlands Pillar] ❆ Events ❆ COMMENCEMENT: The Winter Mass The Ivori have long held a Winter Mass, commencing the Winterwunder festival and resetting themselves for the future ahead. Prayers are led by priests of the faith, as well as prominent Ivori figures. The mass ends with a collective yodel. [Sunday, December 15, 4pm EST] ⭒ Schmaustag, Day of Eating ⭒ Kick off the celebrations with us with a large banquet, courtesy of The Wunderbar tavern and fromagerie. This will be held after mass. [Sunday, December 15, 5pm EST] During the banquet, we will have: Cake Exchange: Bring your best cake and share it with others! Cheese Eating Competition: How much cheese can you eat? Test your limits against your competitors. Many varieties, made by the JonesCo Fromagerie Extension. ⭒ Klingentanz, the Blades Dance ⭒ Ivori Winterwunder marks the celebration of Klingentanz, a night long week of combatant competition. Traditionally, this was simply of the blades, though has expanded to include challenges in Archery, Melee, Joust and Wrestling throughout the week of the festival. Please sign up here. Gear can be provided based on availability. Archery: Short range, long range, and on horseback. [Monday, December 16, 7pm EST] Melee: A bracket of duels, ending in a grand finale. [Tuesday, December 17, 7pm EST] Wrestling: A series of group matches, ending with the finalist fighting a large and mysterious beast. No armour, weapons, or items permitted. [Wednesday, December 18, 7pm EST] Joust: A test of valor. You must provide your own horse. [Thursday, December 19, 7pm EST] Group Skirmish: A final free for all where all contestants come together in a rules free fight for the title of Champion of Ivoria. [Sunday, December 22, 4pm EST] ⭒ Frostwoche, Frost Week ⭒ The Ivori celebrate Frosttag, events related to the snow and frost of the winter season. ICE SKATING: - Friday, December 20, 7pm EST People of all ages and skill levels are welcome to use our wonderful skating rink throughout the week, but we will be showcasing everyone’s particular talent on the ice. We invite anyone to participate. SNOWSHOE RACING: Saturday, December 21, 1 pm EST Experience the full thrill of winter in a thrilling snowshoe course. Contestants will face thrilling twist turns and drops, and race each other for the final prize. We ask for decorum from each contestant, since this is not a combat event. ICE SCULPTING COMPETITION: December 15th until December 22 On the first day of Winterwunder, people are invited to compete in decorating our town with ice sculptures, to be judged Sunday, December 22nd, at noon EST. Materials will not be provided, but may be bought from a designated shop. You will be provided a designated area to build in, and those not from Ivoria (if you need region perms) will be given windows of time to sculpt in. Please sign up here. ⭒ Der Fund, Children’s Gift Hunt ⭒ From the 15th through the 22nd, children are invited to participate in our winter scavenger hunt! Specially marked chests will be hidden through town and the festival grounds. Leave a note with your name (and username), and participants will be given gifts based on the chests they have found. Gifts will be distributed on Sunday, December 22nd, via locked chests you will have access to) ⭒ Winter Masquerade ⭒ To close off our Winterwunder, we encourage everyone to come join us in a large masked dance, celebrating our lovely Gottenthal and giving thanks to GOD for a mild season.     Serana eyes the man for a moment, subjectifying him to the crudeness of her judgemental gaze. After a short pause, she gives a warm smile, extending her hand to indulge in a handshake. "Thank you for the warm welcome, this is such a lovely city." Her voice is friendly and inviting, though it carries an undertone of elegance and grace. The man shakes her hand, returning her smile with one of his own. "To answer your question, I'm here to explore. Exploration is something I cherish, to learn and meet new people... As they say, knowledge is power." Her eyes wander off towards the bustling bazaar, "Now, if you'll excuse me. I really must be on my way. It was a delight meeting you!" Serana bows her head promptly before delving into the endless possibilities the great city embodies.
