That's the purpose of the magic and I don't think that can be seen as OOC abuse. It very clearly states in the lore that seers are loyal to each other above all else, changing that in my opinion would be changing a big part of the magic

Please expand upon the description of the magic as a whole. You touched on specific parts of the magic, but, what is the purpose of this magic? What niche does it fulfil? What other powers other than better sight and the ability to cultivate a fallacy does this magic have?

I'd also ask that you fix your sub-sections area. To clarify - Seer is a 2 slot magic. Therefore, if you are granted the ritual of consecration via your teacher, you are not dedicating a 3rd slot to the magic.

i tried to reform and better elaborate the magic, there may be a thing or two i missed but so far to me it looks good! i am sorry for the 3 slots part, which was a misunderstanding from my part. If there is anything missing or I did not write properly then do let me know! I tend to stall myself when I write in length and the discourse may not be too flowy.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Seer

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

In order to explain this magic in detail I’ve decided to split this section in different parts; an introduction and the abilities.

Introduction: This lore is divided in feat and magic, which are heavily different.

The (feat) Seers of Vaseek are born from desperation of the blind. When one is desperate enough to pray for their sight, they may occasionally be spotted by the Daemon Vaseek and be granted his gift of sight so long they cover their eyes (blindfolds, masks, shades are all fine for this part). Their vision however is not like that of a human, and instead is granted through the vision of a Witness. Vaseek may at any time disconnect a Seer, and usually only does so when a tenet is broken.

Tenets are a list of “rules” which every Seer must follow. One who has imperfect sight (feat) however will only have to hold the first; to never reveal that they may see.

A slotted seer (one who holds seer MA) may not harm other seers (unless consented). May not expose the identity of one another. Lastly, they must absolutely not ruin the plan of a peer. Peer is a term often used to refer to other Seers without ruining their lie.

A Witness is a “son of Vaseek”. They are his main agents, born of his own being and travel the world of the descendants witnessing all things in history. Their sight is far superior than those of a Seer, who instead have the ability to see thanks to a witness sent by vaseek in order to bond with the lone, desperate souls.

Another way of losing this gift is by having their sight restored through alchemy or any other means which would grant actual sight. (This requires OOC consent). Additionally, Vaseek does not care (and to the contrary prefers if the soul is linked to a different place, i.e a canonist with God) who the seer is or what they believe in, making the feat and magic compatible with nearly all niches. The only trouble is if 1) the person lacks slots and 2) the person lacks eyes.

After being disconnected, the Seer will lose feat and magic alike and will not remember the works and schemes of the fellow peers.

When a Seer is bonded (player has an accepted MA) they will begin to undergo a war waged in the mind, as they begin to see the world as it is. It is not uncommon for a Seer to fall guilty of their own lies, which is known as a living lie. A living lie is one who is very convinced of their excuse for sight and in the end starts to see it as truth. For example, a Canonist nun believing their sight was granted by God. A strong feeling within the Seer is also that of undying loyalty for peers and their cabal, being allowed to recognize other bonded ones by simply hearing their names mentioned. Once they recognize fellow peers, they will also choose them over anything else in the world.

Another aspect of his spies is their strong connection to Vaseek. They are in fact sown by Vaseek himself and share the same anxiety and paranoia as he does. For example, a Seer may suffer from social anxiety and experience twitching or shivering when put under pressure. Delusions and paranoia are also common, haunting the seer with an innate sense that people may be plotting on their downfall.

    Abilities:

A Feat Seer may only have access to the simple ability known as secondsight. This is the raw and very imperfect manifestation of the witness’ sight, which is hardly enough to see far enough (past #q range). As they see through the witness and not mundane sight, they are also immune to illusions. As this sight is very new, raw and imperfect, it is very simple to disrupt the focus of the spy who is affected by noise, fatigue and the like.

The slotted Seers are taught their abilities through visions after being subject to the “Ritual of Sanctioning” and possess tools to sow chaos.

These abilities are used in order to fulfill the sowing of chaos and spreading of lies, while also empowering the true sight they receive through a witness. These tools are mostly for that same purpose, information. While being mostly non combative, there is still abilities which aid in combat such as hypnotic gaze, a spell capable of hindering movements of those who dare maintain prolonged eye contact.

Their abilities in general allow for deception and retrieving of information; for example hiding in  plain sight in veils of lies, the use of charade to make the lies told and hinted by the seer more believable.

The spells of a seer however work through headaches and use of mind effects. Each ability has a set amount of uses before the effects start manifesting (or in some cases such as charade do not have a limit). Going over the limit (within 24 hours) will cause a headache, and after three headaches great exhaustion will befall upon the seer who must rest for 12 IRL Hours known as a botched translation. The ritual of mendacity however will cause a botched translation upon casting.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

    This magic possesses in total 4 different states;

    1- Feat seer explained above

2- Slotted seer which is briefly explained above, is able to reach tier 5 but will not unlock further progression unless another slot is dedicated

3- Twice slotted seer, a slotted seer who has undergone the teaching ritual once more and has dedicated 2 slots to the magic. This requires another use (and therefore roleplay) of the teaching ritual. To be eligible to unlock further slots (and consequently the spells that come with them) one must first have cultivated at least 2 fallacies.

A fallacy is an imaginary seed planted into the very soul of a person (therefore, automatons, homunculi and other creatures that lack a soul are immune to this spell) which, at first, does not seem to have any effect other than telepathy. While the seed is planted with one use of the spell, the seer will need to have 3 different roleplays to 'cultivate' the seed. Cultivation means the use of the spell that makes the 'seed' bloom, causing the affected person to be inflicted with a specific anxiety/fear. This is a core aspect of the magic as it helps a seer sow their chaos.

It is to note that this magic and its additional slots are a gift from Vaseek, who does not care what a person does so long he may link himself to their soul. If one was to drop this magic one way or another (commonly by breaking the tenets) they would not be able to retain those slots. If a tenet is broken, they also lose all memories they had from the work as a seer.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

I chose for this example to use charade, the ability that I most like due to its flexibility. Along with that I also added the passive ability which allows for mutation of the eye.

Angelica's eyes took on a very peculiar glow, her pupils shifting and twirling into different shapes before eventually settling onto a golden Lorraine cross, which shone within her very iris. "I am the steward." she mused simply, before light manifested upon her entire figure. A serene smile rested upon her face, which had slowly begun to take on a glowy cloak. A hand was extended, reaching for the person who stood before her. With a slight squeeze of the shoulder, an explosion of lights happened, and instantly a sun was noticed, up up above the sky. It was not quite as big or magnificent as the real deal, yet maintained an elegance and radiating light that caused the surroundings to shine with own light. A pair of wings covered within intricate feathers of light clapped from the shoulders of the woman, whose head now adorned an angelic hue.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

While this magic does not really follow the lessons system, it is said in Lore that spells are taught by Vaseek through visions. Therefore, I would use Dreamstride to give instructions through angelic dreams which fit Angelica.

That windy night, the branch of a tree had knocked three times thrice upon the tough glass of the old window by the student’s bed. A chilly wind ran through a gap beneath the shut curtains, words whispered through the wind. It begged to be opened, and eventually it could sustain no more. With a furious wind straight from the north, the window swung open and a creature floated inside said room. From her left hand appeared a needle of pure light, while the other carried a string. Using the needle, the Angel began to wave and sew, until a cage had formed itself around the student. “This is the power He has blessed you with, my child.” She mused, a distant chorus of angelic nature echoing from outside the window. “You may be able to use His light with free will, so long you wish for it.” the angel floated about for more and seemingly infinite minutes, before the eventual wake of the student.

This instead would be following the mundane idea of lessons.

Angelica guided her student within the confessional of the monastery of Lemon hill,  where the two could find peace. There, she rested her elbows upon a wooden shelf and stared through the tiny gaps of the confessional. “Are you ready to explore His might, my child?” she spoke unto the student, a serene smile on her pallid visage. From within her grasp was a Lorraine cross, upon which she brought her focus. All of a sudden, rays of light shone upon said cross, showering the object with ethereal light. “By focussing your mind and imagining a specific illusion, you will see that it may come true. There is a lot that may be done through this simple trick, my child. You may bring Light to the Dark, create objects and even produce sounds.” At that, a distant chorus of chirping angels resounded within the booth. “I will be your guide, Steward of the Lord, in order to teach you more and more again. Simply trust me.”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I believe communication is key to solve every issue, and as such would simply reach out to them and explain the powergamey instance. If this was a mistake, and hence not done in bad faith, I would guide them onto the right way of roleplaying the magic and stand by their side as they try to learn the lore.

    ISSUED BY

THE HOLY ORDER OF ST. JUDE

    IN THIS YEAR

    OF OUR LORD 1947

    ON KNOWN AND SPECULATED VAMPYRES

Recently, a missive had been published by the many Lords and Ladies of the realm. Their signatures laid silent at the bottom of accusations of vampirism, and now it is time for us to act. It is so very simple to hide behind cobbled walls of impregnable castles, where aurum and salt may not reach. But your actions cannot be erased from history, merely concealed. For that is how you creatures of the night act. You cloak yourself within veils of dark, hoping to not be caught by the just inquisitors of GOD.

But what if I said, that among those signatures, lie two black sheeps? They are so quick to demand the death of the House von Augusten, while they too harbor vampires of their own. Such a fact angered not only I, but my brother in faith Bishop Callahan as well. Therefore, we hereby issue a summon to the following people, who may either subdue themselves to testing or be deemed guilty.

Ser Leopold Haverlock and his wife.

After the incident with Aaren Colborn, I have been investigating more alongside Bishop Callahan. It is then that we found out the Lord Haverlock had been not only housing and protecting, but wed to a vampire. The mother of his children. The both of them are to arrange a time they may find favorable, and show themselves to the Castle Priory of St. Jude in Veletz in order to be jointly tested.

    Emilio Varoche

An old ally of Allessandra de Vend, Emilio of Varoche has been deemed a possible vampire. Not only him, but his kinsman “Paul Varoche'' too are summoned to the Castel Priory of St. Jude in Veletz in order for testing. While that of the Count Varoche is only a suspicious, his kinsman Paul is deemed a confirmed vampire, one who had worked with “Ibisa”, vampire and necromancer.

    LET THERE BE TRUE LIGHT.

HIS GRACE, Callahan Bishop Citrea, Grand Prior of the Holy Order of St. Jude

HOLY SIR Halston Veynot, Grand Master of the Holy Order of St. Jude, Holy Knight of His Mother Church.

HER SERENE HIGHNESS, Dame Avalon ‘the charred spear’ of Númenost, Sergeant of the Holy Order of St. Jude, and Knight Protector of the Canonist realms.

DAME Bronwyn of Númenost, Knight of Númendil and Neophyte of the Holy Order of St. Jude.

THE REVEREND, Mother Oksana of the Holy Order of St. Jude

  5. The Prince and Princess of Minitz had spotted the fire that devoured the neighbouring Barony, and with haste did they ring the bell and ride to assistance. Yet, upon arrival, they were met with gruesome sight. "Where is the Baron, anyway..?" Avalon inquired of her comrades while they proceeded to set off the fires. Only moments later did they find the decapitated body, and with sorrowful gaze and hushed prayers, blessed the man with proper burial.

  6. Maeralya Sythaerin returned to the Silver City with a great disappointment lingering at her heart. She had slain three druids in the name of Saint Robert, yet it all felt so boring. With a slow march, she reached her manor, stored the retrieved loot, and began pacing left and right frenetically. That taste of blood simply manifested a new thirst for war. She wished to wage more, and more, and more.
