You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” You sit down on the cushion. It is surprisingly comfortable for something in a... home?... such as this one. As you begin to regain more of your senses, you finally get a good look at the lady in front of you. She is an elderly woman, with pale skin and long hair. Time has not treated the old lady very well, that much was clear from even a basic glance. You did however, notice a feature not many other travelors would have, because you knew the signs, you knew what to look for, you knew that this lady... was a witch. You of course knew this because you yourself were a practicioner of the arcane, you could sense the flow of mana around the lady as she sat there, looking at you expectedly. "My name is Sabrina." You say, your voice dry and in need of water. "Who are you?" "You will learn who I am in good time, for now I want to know about you. Where you come from, your desires, everything." The old lady spoke in return. "Why do you need to know these things about me?" You ask. The old lady does not reply, she only continues to look into your eyes. "*sigh* As I said, my name is Sabrina, Sabrina Adie. I am from a land known as Alexandria where I studied the arcane. I left in search of new spells and skills after I had exhaused all that I could learn from the lands I was familiar with." You said, relucantly. "Again, why do you ask." "Because I'm curious," said the lady. "Though I will say, you have much potential, yet I cannot feel any connection between you and the magic of this world. I fear you may not find it easy to practice your magic here, at least not without a teacher." She was right of course, you knew from the second you awoke that your magic was not working here. You thought it was just your groggy state, but you were not able to cast any basic spells which you had previously been able to cast without more than a simple thought. "And this Alexandria you speak of, it does not exist on any map I have read. All these signs point to you not being from these lands." The lady said, hinting that she may have known more than she was letting on about. "Then how am I here?" You asked. "In fact, how am I even in your home, how do I know that you haven't kidnapped me and are suppressing my magic?" The old lady laughed. She laughed as if even the suggestion had been the funniest thing she had heard in years. "Welcome to Aevos young one, I suggest that you prepare yourself..."
