  4. Background The Abyssants are powerful physic entities that lurk in the void, they seek to break free via way of their firstborn's afflicted people that have been turned into them via way of Cognito hazards as well as forceable infection via another Abyssants. Their society is fairly monarch-like and militaristic with one Overmind Ruling all other sects of Abyssants and several Ascended ones acting as his lutenists as well as his firstborns. a depiction of a average Abyssant lair. Physical Description Abyssants are tall humanoid figures with heads that resemble flayed corpses if it is a firstborn, if the Abyssant originates from the void its head resembles a flayed corpse with varying mutations, however these mostly resemble tendrils coming from the lower jaw. Its hands are tipped with sharp black claws. They also are wear armor that is the mix between organic flesh and traditional armor. Abyssants are also highly adept physics and telekinetic. However Abyssants are slightly stronger then the average human and require knowledge to grow in strength and if they arent fed they will become rabid and mentally unstable. They grow and feed on memories by way of direct contact with another person or if its a fresh corpses the devouring of the victims brain, Furthermore they can read the mind of those nearby up to a certain distance. Their physic powers work by way of drawing upon the memories and thoughts of their victims at their strongest they can cause brain death however only the Overmind possesses such powers Mental Description Abyssants are naturally curious creatures that always seek to learn more about the world with a natural god complex due to their natural abilities all Abyssants deem themselfs to be greater than their non-voidal counterparts. Rabid Abyssants suffer from symptoms of schizophrenia as well as lesser intellect than their more stable counterparts. Firstborn Abyssants tend to do whatever possible to appease their purer counterparts as they believe it is their birthright. Abilities Overwhelming Energy: The Abyssant unleashes a burning physic blast of energy dealing heavy damage and burning the target ((The Abyssant releases a blast that has a 10 block radius where the target is slowly damaged for 3 turns)) Null Paroxysm: The Abyssant releases a physic shockwave flinging nearby targets away from them. ((the Abyssant slams the ground causing targets to be flung 10 blocks back)) Abyssal Cleave: The Abyssant charges its claws with physic anergy, dealing medium damage to a target ((The Abyssant slashes at a target burning them) Psionic Entropy: The Abyssant overwhelms a target with Cognito hazards and hallucinations ((the Abyssant can infect a target with cognito hazards in order to convert them to a firstborn, requires OOC consent and is mainly a method of transmission not a attack.) Origins They are born when a voidal horror passes through the veil into reality, lingering voidal energies coalesce upon contact with the material to form a membrane around the voidal horror which sheds away. These membranes gain sentience and life, and have a fraction of the intelligence of the original horror. They are drawn to voidal energy and infest the bodies of those skilled in voidcraft. Once the infestation begins they’ll slowly warp the minds and drain the mana of those infected, in exchange, the creature improves learning speed and total mana capacity. As the parasite reaches maturity, it will start to subsume the host into itself, it’s own alien intelligence crowding out and reducing the host mind to little more than memories for it to access. Each strain of the parasite seeks to propagate itself, and infest others with clones of itself. Once terminal mass of infested mages has been reached, it will seek to coalesce into a voidal horror of its own. Strains of parasite see each other and true voidal horrors as competition, however, and will relentlessly seek to destroy those voidal entities which are not born from itself. The Devoured the devoured are voidal horrors corrupted by The Overmind they are mindless and act only out of instinct to their master or those with especially strong will they have the ability to fire laser's from their "face" that corrode whatever they make contact with Furthermore they can grow in power by feasting on corpses to become Ascendant devoured. The process in which a devoured becomes ascendant involves it gaining biomass by feasting on the bodies of slain voidal horrors forming a abomination of voidal energies. A standard Devoured An Ascendant Devoured Their place in the voidal Hierarchy Regardless of their power before all variants of abyssants are all greater soul in nature even the rabid ones who have lost control of their own powers. The reason why they remain fairly unchanging physically despite the void's entropic nature is due to their sheer willpower allows their form to be maintained despite the void's chaotic nature. The reason why they are not devoured by the very horrors they have control over is due to their psychic abilities when in the void their overwhelming energy ability is constantly active however this effect is only present when the abyssant is in the void and dissipates when they exit the void, regardless this ability melts any voidal horrors of weaker nature that gets withing a certain vicinity of the abyssants General Red lines/Restrictions Devoured cannot become Abyssants or vice versa Abyssants cannot be cured of their affliction nor does it wear off Abyssants are ageless meaning they cannot die of age Purpose (OOC) The purpose of Abyssants basicly function as playable voidal horrors

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Avilar smiles knowing he will get information "I have come here seeking power...I never knew my family and I grew up on the streets. However I was taken in by a old scholar who saw something redeemable in me. He then told me stories of The void. Also he taught me how to survive on my own. Furthermore he taught me the art of the scythe, what a glorious weapon! Sadly the scholar passed away but with his teachings I will carve my own path and forge a organization capable of ruling over aevos" Avilar stands up "Now tell me how I can get magical powers!"
