You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Oh, well let me get you all caught up!" she chimed in. She glanced at the cushion, but the old crone sensed her hesitation. The older gave an additional nod before the traveler felt it was safe to sit. "Sorry," she apologized as she set off both of the old canvas bags that she had been carrying. A light shimmer appeared on her eyes as she was given yet another reminder of her lost travelling partner. "Well, my name is Sylcey Sundew. We came from a land not too far from here, my partner and I. My mother, that drunken hag, used to watch him as a child, so we are not much more than.. I wouldn't really say acquaintances, but we aren't friends. Perchance. I-" "I'm really quite sorry to interrupt, but you cannot just say perchance." interjected the old lady. The red-haired dame chose to ignore this and instead, settled down into the cushion to cross her legs. "I lost him on the way here, but I hope to find him soon. The folks at home would go right mad if they found out I lost him. We both know how to handle ourselves, sure, but you don't really understand how we grew up. Back at home, nobody leaves. We as a people believe that if we are happy, if there is booze, and if there are smokes, we can dwell there for the rest of our days. They are so protective of what's theirs that they forget that others have feelings too. We fought tooth and nail to get out here, and I intend to find him and reunite with him to continue this journey." She uncrossed her legs, giving a firm stomp in readiness. She scooped up her bags and shot the old woman a quick smile. "I think you'll be finding what you seek in the group of white and blue tents on the corner." she finished with a wink. Sylcey gave her an incredulous glare before finally understanding. She darted around, bags swinging. Unluckily, her bag grabbed the hook of the tent flap. Slycey only was able to watch in horror as she realized the entire tent was coming down with her. She quickly detached the bag, ignoring the yelp of surprise and anger from the hag within as she ran away towards her lost partner.
