“I… I didn’t think anyone would be waiting for me,” I mutter, shifting my weight as I step further into the tent. “I got cast out of my village, not much more than a few days ago. Said I was trouble, that I didn’t belong.” I let out a shaky breath, feeling the cold dampness seeping through my boots. “I don’t know what I’m looking for,” I admit, my voice barely a whisper. “Maybe a new beginning… maybe just somewhere that feels like home.” I glance up at the hag, trying to read her expression in the dim light. “If you’ve been expecting me, then maybe you know what I should do next… because I sure as hell don’t.”
