Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Darien enters the tent his clothes a little dirty and groans* "Augh! my legs and back hurt bad from the walk!" (the old lady says her words) "Ah hello Ma'am! I am "Darian Vale" why it is good to meet you" Darien sits down and crosses his legs, the cape folds up as he takes a seat "Well here is my story it begins as i was growing up on the farm, I always felt like I was isolated from the rest of the world. My parents, “Jack Vale” and* my mother “Laura Vale” were very strict on where I went therefore they kept me on the farm most of my life. However a massive storm took them out when I was only 17. The farm was all I had left, It was my sanctuary but also my prison. There were many nights when I sat alone by the fireplace - staring into the flickering flames, feeling the weight of my soul as I sat alone. "Is the farm all there is?" I would often ask myself, yearning to understand how the world really functions. After a while, one rough day of work. I decided I needed a change from this prison. I packed a small bag with all that I had and set off for the nearest town. The village elder had always been nice to me, and I hoped I might find some answers there of what the outside world might be like. As I walked through the huge-crowded market, I felt both excited and overwhelmed by the sights and sounds as I have never seen such things before. "So much to learn," I thought, watching traders haggle and children play. In the town, I met a variety of people, each with their own stories and struggles. I made friends with a blacksmith named Jacklynn, who taught me about the details of metalwork and the importance of the community. Through these interactions, I began to understand that everyone had their own battles and that the world was far more complex than I had ever imagined. “It was terrifying” I thought to myself. However these experiences fueled my desire to learn more and to find my place in the world. Before I set off on my journey Jacklynn told me one thing, “I have heard a rumor of mages in the lands.” I whispered back to her “thank you Jacklynn for everything but I must go now.” I left the town bewildered by everything I heard and saw. “Well that’s my story ma’am I have stumbled upon this town looking for new things about this vast world.
