Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example: Alaric steps into the dim, swampy town, his gaze fixed on the rotted shacks and moss-covered cabins. His blue eyes are sharp, the iron helmet low over his Caesar-cut black hair. He moves quietly toward the tattered tent. Inside, flickering candlelight illuminates the old hag, who studies him before speaking. “What brings you to this town?” she asks. “Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures. “Tell me your story.” Alaric removes his helmet, his blue eyes meeting hers. “I’m Alaric Edvan. I roam these lands, seeking what’s lost. What do you know of this place? Why was I expected?” His tone remains calm, always aware of danger. Alaric adjusts his stance slightly, his voice steady. “I’ve travelled far to get here, through wilds harsher than this. My father taught me to hunt and survive before the wolves took him. My mother kept me alive until sickness claimed her too. Since then, I’ve relied on my own skills—tracking, hunting, and staying unseen. It’s how I’ve made it this far.” He rests a hand lightly on the hilt of his dagger, his gaze unwavering. “Now I’m a wanderer, a bounty hunter when the work finds me. But I go where the trail leads, and it’s led me here. Tell me why.”
