Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"There's not much to tell to be completely honest." She sits, seeming not to comfortable. "I left home initially thinking I could do more than gather my fathers crops and stitch together torn clothing. So far, I've not amounted to much. It's all so very tiresome. If I could spend my days sleeping away, only awakening to eat or relieve myself I would, but I'm not royalty. Just a simple commoner passing through life, trying to make ends meet."
She leans forward in her chair, placing her elbows on the table. "Not sure why you were expecting me of all people. I'm just a nobody from the sticks of Koyo-kuni. Never even been to Sakuragakura. Should I be worried? I'm getting a feeling I should leave."
