Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
As Hanako stepped into the swampy town their eyes darted around from building to building, then they were hit with an overwhelming earthy smell. They moved to reach for their handkerchief. A hand slid over their nose, the fabric in grasp. Seldom if at all would they decide to cross paths with a place like this. Their work made it easy to have an excuse and avoid places like this but unlike most times, this visit was needed to traverse greater lands than they had been. Their steps came to a stop once they entered the tent. Hanako's eyes sharpened as the woman said her greetings. The dark haired person's face remained neutral and partly covered by the cloth. "Indeed. I do hope my arrival was punctual." Hanako paused for a moment before continuing "I'm glad you had remembered our meeting set for today." Their tone was almost aloof in a way. It was almost instinctive if not on purpose. They began to walk toward the cushion, but instead of sitting they stood. "I am nothing more than a humble servant to the kingdoms. Called for in accordance to when and where I'm needed most." their words were solemn, though not in a sad way. It was purely dignified and formal.
