  2. MC Name: Cloudheart RP Name: Tend'el Why do You Want To Join: I am interested in pursuing a position, particularly as a professor, in the Academy because I believe it is the natural course to be run in my life. I have been previously trained in the History and Basics of Magic by two high ranking leaders in the Mage's Guild, The Arcane Mage and Arch-Mage Bell. Additionally, I run a small bookstore and act as the local Scribe in the city of Aeriel. I hope that this experience will be of use to the Academy, and benefit the students if I am permitted to teach. I do not intend to wrest away control in the academy, and do not promise any unrealistic level of devotion, but I do intend to put my best foot forward. Ultimately, however, my deepest, and most personal reason for seeking a position in the Academy is to further my efforts to heal and purify the damage Iblees and the Undead have done. What Lab Are You Looking Into: I would enjoy working in the field of Alchemy, as I am not yet capable of tapping into any practical magic, and Alchemy would be the most rational choice for seeking new medicines. Thank you for considering my application, Tend'el the Scribe
  3. I would actually prefer the village for the Dark Elves to be on the Ground, and I have a picture from when I was hiking) in my head of it existing within this "forest" of roots or thick, intertwined, swampy branches. Kinda like this:Click for Foresty Picture :D As for lore, if anyone even cares, I posted a folk tale from before the addition of sub-races, maybe you could pull from it, here? Maybe you could even meld the idea of a mountain home and the rough vines by covering the mountain with them? Just an idea.
  4. "...No...no, not Cataris!" Tend'el steps away and speaks to himself. " I'm sorry I never got to know you as a friend Cataris. I'm sorry the last I saw of you was on bad terms. You probably thought I hated you, didn't you? I can't change what happened, or the ruling on that fateful day. I only wish I had not been so concerned with teaching myself that I could have befriended you. We worked side by side and I, in my cowardice, never even said a word to you. I was shy. I thought you'd shun me. I was so trusting of Bell, I never considered she was acting in a bit of anger. But even before your trial I never made an attempt to befriend you. I always assumed it would have to be someone else approach me, and now I know better. I had even decided to train myself in the art of medicine and healing! I came too little too late. I never truly knew you Cataris, but for your trial. A man of convictions, and perhaps the road to the nether is paved with such convictions, but what can a man do except strive towards what he knows to be right? I will use your life, Cataris, as a lesson and as the impetus to always make the first step towards friendship, and to never resist posing my thoughts, no matter who my superior is. Rest in peace." The dark-skinned elf lays down the portrait, and begins to speak, while reaching for something in his pocket. "Sir? Thank you for the information. Have a good day." The elf shakes the gravedigger's tired hand, leaving 100 minas in the man's palm as he walks away.
  5. Eos is very right. For some reason everyone wants to become "leader of the dark elves". At best, we'll probably have a Viscount and one or two other important people in the town. Because that's what we've built so far. A town. We might expand later, but we're just starting, and getting the materials together is difficult. I'm not angry that more people didn't help out either, but I dislike people wanting positions of authority when they haven't helped us build what we have so far. ...Hope I didn't cause someone any anger, just my two cents. P.S. : Will post pictures of town later, once I find a good photo hosting website, or figure out how to do attachments here.
  6. I think this is a great idea! I'm not necessarily sure about creating a new nation, but the dark elves should definitely have their own city. I already spoke to Native about creating a city in the deserts called 'Shadi-Jhol', and he's fine with it as long as it looks good. Maybe we can work together? Use Shadi-Jhol as the Dark Elf Capital?
  7. ((I figured I should go ahead and post this, as the first story I came up with was about the Drow, or Dark Elves. If they get added before I write this, it kinda ruins the point of the story. So here we go.)) The Story of the Drow - (and Moonlamp Mountain) "In a land far far away, from the homes of the fair folk called Elves, there lives a race of people called the Drow. The Drow were Elves too, but they had strayed from the lovely forests to dark magics. The Drow preferred the shadows that matched the blackness of their magic, and they lived in the marshes, swamps, and spider-infested forests of Aegis. Few know of this land anymore, and even fewer still know its name. It now only known as 'The Darklands'. The Drow, however, disliked one thing about their home: they had no light to see by. The lightstones of the true Elves were lost to them. Thus, the Drow every so often would take the moon to use as a lamp, putting it away in a dark mountain, hidden in their muggy swamps. This is why they say if you ever lose track of the moon one night the Drow have stolen it. They would only give the moon back on one condition: If someone cut down a tree from the Elven homeland and gave it to them. If you didn't do this? Oh Aegis forbid! The Drow would sneak into Malinor - in the blackness of night - to find the naughtiest, unruliest elf and...****** HIM UP! The elf would then work for their army, to live in their horrible, spidery forests, forevermore. So be good, all little Elven children, or one night the Drow might take a liking to you and you might never again see the beautiful trees of Laurelin. The End. P.S. - This is also how I, Tend'el, and my friends Conell, Ademas, and Bawapy approached naming the mountain we live on. We hope Native takes a liking to this tale, and has his scribes forever remember it by writing 'Moonlamp Mountain' on the maps of Aegis, where we reside. P.P.S. - (( As I continue to RP I'll continue to "remember" more old Elven fairytales, and add them to the book I plan to write on the server, as well as on this post))
