  1. Also after like 5 or 6 game play videos I've watched it's actually pretty decent looking. There's a lot of complete features and there's plenty to do already. Basically my point is even though they failed on star forge I definitely think they know what they are doing this time around. With private servers available and hopefully modding, the possibilities are endless :)

  2. Alright I just watched the entire trailer and I admit, it looks pretty darn cool. (but so does every other pre-alpha game)

except everything in the early acess trailer is implemented and there. None of it's cut like you would see in other early access games.

  3. Oh look its Chivalry Medieval Warfare with building, waaaaaaaaaat. If you're looking for a good immersive game to RP in check out Life is Feudal

except Life is Feudal is a ridiculous grindy piece of garbage. Plus it's 40 dollars. And the combat in life is feudal crappy. Also you can only build pre set buildings in life is feudal. ALSO life is feudal is still an unoptimized buggy mess.

  4. Nice one mate! I quite like how you made the fire with the tilted and scaled log blocks and the ring of stone. Clever use of mine-imator! Did you make the facial expressions rig yourself or use an existing one? Oh and how did you do the smoke? Was that added using another program?

DSDevil took a rig and modified it to our liking. For the smoke you can use a Particle Generator we then just took the sprites from an explosion and made they float upwards.

  5. If I paid you in guns and nukes, would you make me a map?

Unfortunatley as of recent, I really just find creating maps in WorldMachine and WorldPainter very very boring at the moment. So for now I'll be taking a hiatus until I find it interesting again.

  6. May I ask how you created that map? It's... beautiful...

My maps are made with a program called WorldMachine. I then import the Heightmap from WorldMachine into a program called WorldPainter where I add the trees the stone the gravel all the good stuff to make the map more pretty.

  7. It would we great landscape, but wouldn't really work for an rp server like Lotc because of the scale.

You never know until you try. It's possible to set specific sizes and voxel could still be used to put greater detail into the map and make it better

  8. What Shader do you use to achieve such water effects?

I used chunky to do renders however I strongly recommend that you use Sonic Ether's shaders they are very good in fact Sonic Ether's makes my favorite shaders.

Yeah, WorldMachine should be seriously considered for the next map. It seems like great maps are just so much easier to achieve with it.

If I could provide some constructive criticism, it'd merely be that the landscape seems a tad 'same-y'; I'd like to see how some unique land formations might turn out. I find interesting geography to be utterly beautiful.

Agreed. This map is pretty repetitive. This was just something I made to spark my WorldMachining back up. I hadn't made anything for two months and this was just to get me back into things. I'm in the process of making a more varied map right now.

  9. Cause I feel realistic maps arnt good for a fantasy setting. I love kilgys maps but I wouldn't use them for any rp projectsm

Well I mean it's not like it isn't ok to combine realistic elements with fantasy. It would be nice to log into to LOTC and see a real looking mountain and not a over-glorified tall hill.
