  1. Hate to put it to you guys quite bluntly, but over the last 24 hours he's gotten people going on a lot of various jobs and constructions. He started architectural try-outs, those who can prove to be good builders will be commissioned to build various housing plots. He's helped sort out various contracts between myself, E'ashtai and the Elves. I won't lie, we had a terrible start. Both of us were too aggressive regarding the whole Rasun situation, but given a chance, Syrio has done good things to the nation. I'll admit, I like Rasun, he's a nice guy. He helped build the new farm and has done wondrous things to the nation in the past, I'm sure. But he apparently resigned, of his own accord. Furthermore, Algoda stated that the role of Overseer will not exist for much longer. To this end, I encourage all citizens of Kal'Alras to put this little feud behind them and await an official report regarding the situation on our government. I would very much like to see Syrio and Rasun in positions of power which suit their activities best, and I further hope this does not conflict. I may still be seen as "the new guy" by several, but if there is any positions in the government you require help with, or even help designing Alras' political system, then I'd be pleased to help. Syrio will back me up when I say I am a man (or rather Dwarf!) who plans. And plans. And then develops that idea. He's seen this from the multitude of images I have sent him regarding architectural designs. Anyway, I feel I have waffled on for far too long, and I apologise for the long read. But if you need help, Algoda, I'm here.
  2. But we need our own sub-forum? That way we can better organise the city and nation. Also, are we renaming Kal'Alras? If so, could Algoda or Syrio please make a poll in here, so we can all vote for a name? The faster we have a name the more likely we'll get a subforum, as I'm sure they dont want to name a subforum "Nation Name Pending Roleplay"
  3. Aye, that is what we are trying to do.
  4. OOC: In fairness, I've seen a lot more building work and renovation happen yesterday (literally in the 5 hours or so when I stopped being so ignorant and my internet cut out at midnight), than in the past week. Regarding the name change, I haven't seen a thread regarding that? I only really check the Dwarven Roleplay section. Also, Syrio, PM'ing you pictures of the smaller manor now.
  5. OOC: Tomorrow morning I should hopefully supply you with a screenshot of a manor house that uses a 15x20 plot of land (note, the above manor fits on a 20x30 plot of land with some space left over, the house fits on a 12x9, 12x11 if you want a balcony)
  6. OOC: Sorry for double post, these pictures are my designs for Syrio, I won't post the image here, as they are quite large, instead I shall post the URLS: House 1: http://i55.tinypic.com/34dopq9.jpg (I'd like to perhaps not MC Edit these in? It'd be very nice to have the housing area with different shaped houses etc. More aesthetically pleasing. Manor: http://i56.tinypic.com/k987z4.jpg (unfinished) Tower: http://i51.tinypic.com/2guwfol.jpg (just a little something when I got bored, playing with roofs)
  7. Aye Bhorner, I'd be grateful fer that! Makes our place easier to find! I shall write ye a letter now, but if ye need it from Algoda or Rasum thumselves, just say. And I do wish people would stop complainin' 'bout us leaving the Empire. I've heard nothin' 'bout taxes, so far as I can see, I be benefitin'! I'll refrain from commentin' on the old king's actions, lest ye scream and shout 'bout it...
  8. OOC: Ah! Very good Dunhagen! Pity it is so dark at night, though that cannot be helped ofcourse. I liked it on Youtube, to give my support. Nice work!
  9. Application Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: NumElSee -How old are you?: 19 years old (DOB: 28/09/1991) -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT / United Kingdom (England) -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I do, having grown up in England and studied the language for several years. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a nineteen year old student who has just finished A level examinations and hoping to go to university in 2012. Having had time out of school, I am very efficient at self study and learning new things by myself (or with little help). I like to see a job done; and done properly, as I cannot stand for shabby, half-hearted work. I enjoy working together with team mates and friends to overcome an obstacle or challenge, having a laugh along the way. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Anywhere from 10 hours a week (if I have work to do or am otherwise busy) to 30 hours a week. -How long have you played Minecraft?: I have only been playing Minecraft for a few months, but in that time have met many, more experienced players and made friends with many new people. Through these friendships I have learnt much about the game mechanics, how to survive and much of the more complicated systems in Minecraft, such as Redstone circuits etc. Though I may be considered young, I do feel I have learnt a lot about Minecraft and am only eager to learn more about the game and the Lord of the Craft server. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I have been Role Playing much longer than I have been playing Minecraft. Role Playing started with simple childhood games, later progressing to actual RP games for various console systems, a good example being The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, in which I often find myself creating new characters to simply play the game in their different styles. A sneaky assassin, a sturdy warrior, a ranger of the wilds, a powerful mage and many more. What is more, Oblivion also allows you to take on different personalities, from a friendly, helpful knight, to a demanding and evil wizard. But my RP experience also extends to other areas, such as online forum hosted RPGs, in which I am the narrator and players take turns to post their actions. Furthermore, I have found myself (with a couple of friends) writing stories, in which we each take a turn to write a chapter in the role of a certain character. -What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to be extremely busy; boasting a very large population, full of different building styles and cultures. I hope to be able to meet new friends and make new enemies, through the personality of my character. Having seen some screenshots and videos, I hope to help develop some of the wonders of this world. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played the Broken Block server, however eventually left due to several rule changes. Though these rules may have helped RP in certain areas, some players were left at a major disadvantage. Overall, this had a very negative effect on the server’s game play and the community as a whole. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I do believe I understand the rules and lore to the best of my ability. This will be further improved over time through playing in character and interacting with the culture(s). Furthermore, I agree to abide the rules and also agree to any terms and conditions. -Name the 4 races on this server: Humans, Orcs, Elves and Dwarves. -How did you hear about us?: I have several friends playing the server and have seen videos on Youtube. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? NumElSee In-Character: -Character Name: Dyrim Vaant -What is your Race?: Dwarf. -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: NumElSee -Biography: Dyrim’s father, Johtung, was a respected noble with large areas of land in the country, though he often stayed in Kal'Urguan on business. He fell in love with a young maiden, Elarna, who worked in a stable. Their romance was like no other, though it was kept secret at first. The thought of a Dwarf noble courting a lowly stable maid was frowned upon amongst the general public. The secret love between Dyrim’s mother and father eventually leaked, after which Johtung and Elarna married and moved to the country. Johtung resigned from his duties as a noble and lived on his land with his wife. Soon after, their first child was born; Khalim. Once of age, Khalim joined the Dwarven Legion. Many years passed but eventually the Orcs came in their raiding parties and a war ensued. Just prior to the raids, Dyrim was born. At a young age Dyrim was sent, by his parents, to an esteemed scholar in a far off land, in the hopes of sparing him from wars with the Orcs. Here, he was to be educated, helping him become a successful council leader. His parents were extremely proud of him, after he showed talent and promise during his teen years. His activities and examinations made him stand out from other students, and he soon grew to a fine young Dwarf. His father bestowed upon him an axe, which he then treasured and kept safe. But at the age of 22, tragedy struck. The Orcs were discovered to be nearing the farmlands in which Johtung and Elarna lived. Upon hearing the news, Khalim made all due haste to the family home, upon arrival he found naught but ruins. Fire covered the previously rich farmland and cattle lay dead. Khalim took off on his own personal mission to avenge his parents. Dyrim heard about the incident several weeks after it happened. It took a long time for a message to be sent to the far off schools at which he lived. His parents killed and his brother unreachable, Dyrim was understandably distraught. He vowed vengeance, he would not let this rest, but his wise teacher showed him how to contain his rage and taught him to wait. A lot of Dyrim’s time was now spent training; he ran miles each day, swam and worked on other exercises. Having finally graduated, Dyrim set forth on a journey to Kal'Urguan, to seek out any remaining family and find out what really happened on that day two years ago. -Character Age: 24 -Character Appearance: Dyrim’s bright ginger hair distinguishes him in a crowd, like an oasis in the desert. His beard is as long as the axe he wields; which was a present from his father when he was younger. His physique is muscular, having spent much time alone, isolated from the rest of the world. -Character Personality: Dyrim is a smart Dwarf, having been educated privately, he will often look at the big picture and evaluate situations based on long term gains. He is smart and wise, often with a calm temperament. Though he would duly defend the honour of his family and his kingdom with the sharp end of an axe, he enjoys long verbal debates, in which he attempts to outwit his opponent. (Please note, though the above is written in third person about the character, the following is written in first person, from the character) -Your ambitions: I hope to one day join the Legion; to serve our kingdom is an honourable deed. What is more, I hope to bring retribution to those that attacked my family all those years ago. Regaining some of my family wealth, or building up my own assets is also one of my desires, to help my overall goals of vengeance. -Can your character read or write?: I can indeed read and write; both very well. -Can your character mine?: I am a Dwarf. Do you dare insult me with such a question? But of course I can mine! -Are you a capable builder? I can build a small, comfortable house by myself, though I am not an architect. -Can you wield a sword?: I do not wield a sword too well. I much prefer a battle axe; that is a real weapon! -Enjoy Farming?: Pah, this is a boring profession. I have no interest in farming. I leave this to the lesser Dwarves! -Does your character have any special skills?: Though he is wise and smart with some powers in verbal persuasion, Dyrim does not possess any special skills. -A screenshot of your skin: http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/test-61981/ (I made this Dwarven skin last night!) -Other Information: N/A
