  1. Reaffirmation of the Baruch – Vyronov Pact of 1613

    The County of Ayr,

14th of the Deep Cold, 1717

The Houses of Baruch and Vyronov have found it fit to reaffirm the century old pact between their respected Houses. This pact has brought security and prosperity in uncertain times and continued to do so far into the future. In the current times of war and uncertainty it is only appropriate to emphasize the strength of this old bond and confirm its continuation into the present. This reaffirmation is meant to encourage renewed effort put into upholding the agreements of this old pact by the signatories.

The formation of the Kingdom of Ruska, reunification for the Northern peoples that had long been divided and controlled by the Courlandic overlords. For the lord and farmer alike, the years of past have been a struggle. These times of darkness and despair have left the Northmen severely weakened. Regardless, the men and women of the North are strong and willful, they shall do what they can to restore their former might and with it the might of the Highlands.

It is in these times of weakness and recovery, that man must strengthen itself by all means necessary. And thus a pact shall be formed by the Houses Baruch of Ayr and Vyronov of Rytsburg. The Houses form a joint effort to rise from the ashes of past war, with ideal of strengthening their stance and that of Ruska.

The Houses Baruch and Vyronov shall from this day forth,

-Engage in Military Coöperation with one another

-Pledge to Financially aid to one another

-Enter into a Trade Agreement of food supplies and resources

-Enter into a Defensive Pact with one another

It is by these measures, that the Houses Baruch and Vyronov seek to strengthen their ties and restore prosperity to their lands. May a future of peace, prosperity and reparation greet those with intent noble and true.

((Whats the point of capturing and killing important people if they are never gonna pk, props to those that do but theres way too many that decide to avoid consequence rp by not pking which ruins the flow))

((What's the point in making a dumb list of people you think should pk because you executed them. Yes, it should be encouraged to pk your character if you are executed with enough rp, but you can’t force people to. I think it’s just as dumb to use other throw-away personas just to avoid having to deal with this kind of pressuring.))

  3. If you are interested in highlander rp I’d check out Haense or Curon. Renatus would probably be your best bet if you are looking for more of a heartlander experience. Feel free to add me on discord if you are interested in playing a highlander, I'll be glad to help you get started. (Flapman#1453)

By order of the Palatine Aspirant and Royal Duma the following is decreed:

    • The primary function of the Marian Retinue will once again be reinforced as the direct protectors of His Majesty, with the Knight Paramount being responsible for ensuring His Majesty always has capable men to protect him during any public appearances.
      • The Marian Retinue will be expanded in order to facilitate the succesful execution of the previous point.
    • All noble houses are expected to provide a squire from their family for the Marian Retinue unless there is already a knight with their family name in the Marian retinue or sufficient reasoning can be provided for the absence of any representation.
      • Those who hold titles or are the heir apparent to any titles will be prevented from squiring. It is expected of every knight of the Marian Retinue to focus their efforts on their knightly duties.

    Signed,

His Royal Majesty, King Marius II of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Prince of  Kusoraev, Dules, Ulgaard, Lahy, Sorbesborg and Slesvik, Duke of Adria, and Carnatia, Margrave of Rothswald, Count of Karikhov, Baranya, Kvasz, Kavat, Karovia, Kovachgrad, Torun, Turov, and Kaunas, Viscount of Alamar, Baron of Valwyk, Venzia, Esenstadt, Krepost and Kralta, Lord of the Westfolk, Lord of Markev, Protector of the Highlanders, etcetera

His Highness, Prince Georg Stanimar of the House of Alimar, Lord Speaker and Herzen of the Royal Duma of the Kingdom of Hanseti and Ruska

His lordship, Lerald Vyronov, Baron of Rytsburg, Palatine Aspirant of the Realm and Representative of the Duma for the House of Vyronov

  5. Lerald sighs as he reads his nephew’s letter. “I'm glad to see that he still has some of the honor I used to see in him left. What kind of mental state would drive a man turn on his his family and his realm?” He shakes his head and taps his chin. “I pray that Godan forgives him for his crimes.”

  6. I completely agree, but I don’t think there is a possible set of rules that doesn’t allow any loopholes.

In a perfect world we would let the rp decide the consequences for an ooc tool that is used to simulate something in rp (like regions and regionowners). The problem is that many people have both rp and ooc interests in a certain outcome so I don't see any way of objectively judging an rp situation. the people in our server staff are also just players with their own interests and biases. Even if we did have an impartial party to look at a situation there could be a virtually endless list of factors that both sides of a conflict could bring up because the rp is just a very simple simulation.

The only thing I could see improving situations like this is promoting rp as a journey instead of the pursuit of an ooc motivated goal. I’m sure most, if not all of us have at some point caught ourselves holding an ooc grudge towards another group of people because of rp. I think this ooc reaction to things happening to us in rp is a very natural reaction, but it can be controlled by being aware that it’s happening.

Not only is this healthier for our community as a whole, but it’s also much better for players on an individual level. I can remember many occasions that I had to deal with meme rp by people we were fighting in rp. People refuse to rp normally out of spite and maybe in an attempt to distance theirselves ooc from their ic character’s misfortune. I can admit I’ve also done this. The most fun I've had on the server however were conflicts that didn't carry over ooc and I believe the main reasons for that were the low tension in ooc chats and that both parties tried to rp normally.

I think the best thing we as individuals can do is try to set an example, because your actions will always reflect back in one way or another. I’m personally trying to be more focussed on just having my fun with rp, I’m not saying I’m not falling back in bad habits every once in a while, but even just trying already makes a difference.
