My character's gonna hate to see you leave Alras, but I support this, and I believe Peper can handle a small rural town.
Well... there's one little problem with that. You're not human or halfling, so you're not really allowed to live in the town.
You can always visit the town though, and maybe we can trade some books then ;)

The town of Mireton
Foreword about the charter
I haven't written the charter completely like the application as I feel it doesn't fit the town.
To be able to make this town, a plot of at least size 100x100 will be needed to accommodate about 15-20 citizens, this due to the rural nature of the town, you'll also read later that I don't desire, and even prefer the region size not to encompass the area down to bedrock, somewhere between y:45 and y:50 should be more than enough due to the nature of the town and the terrain it's build in.
This is why I'd like to request Native, or a different GM to help me with this to make this town possible.
General information and history:
The town of Mireton is a quiet rural village situated in a small bog between two small streams near the forests of Midonia.
It was founded in year 13 of the Second Era by Roger Ithelias. Roger founded the city because he got sick of the large city and the troubles it brought, longing back to the small and peaceful setting of the Sister City where he grew up as a small child.
One of his motivations also is that he wants a good place for his young daughter to grow up, where she's able to walk around an explore the area without being in a big danger.
As the town is situated in a bog, there are a few things the citizens need to keep in mind. One of these things is that you can't build any heavy buildings, as they will sink into the ground,
and the area isn't suitable for mining because of the high level of the groundwater.
Small canals need to be dug to drain the area of the village, to enable the villagers to walk around without sinking into the bog. Even though the village has canals, the rivers can easily flood the area partially sometimes,
ruining everyone's clothes, their floors and the crops but providing new nutrients to the soil. ((GM controlled natural disaster, adds a lot to RP))
The peat in the area does have it advantages, as it is a perfect material to isolate the homes.
The town is ruled by a small group of town elders, which meets in a town hall. All citizens are allowed to watch and listen to the meetings and suggest things to the elders.
((This is mainly to make the decisions and rules clear to the people living in the town, instead of having a group of "invisible" rulers decide everything behind their back))
As the town is situated in Salvus, it will gladly pay a tithe to the Kingdom, as long as the rulers of Salvus don't try to change anything in the small town.
The people of Mireton
The people that live in Mireton are mainly the poor people that couldn't afford anything in Solace, or don't like the big city.
It's people aren't very tolerant to non humans (except halflings), they can stand an elf (if it's something like purely business), but dwarfs and orcs are shunned or harassed.
Only humans and halflings will be able to buy a home in the town, others will be either ignored, or if they look dangerous (8 feet orc for example) they will be told that there are no empty homes left.
The town's people are friendly laid back people that rather not work too much, and spend most of their time sitting in the tavern or walking around the rustic landscape of rolling hills, steadily flowing rivers and dark forests.
Architecture
The town consists of mainly small peat covered homes, giving the town a natural looks. There are a few larger homes and one town hall in the centre of the town.

Preferred location
The perfect location of the town would be in Salvus territory, with approximate coordinates (-800,800) on the dynamic map.
I've scouted the area ingame, and it's the perfect place to build the village.

I'll tell you what's wrong with RP-only shopping: someone actually has to be there. There are 3 stores in Salvus and of the three, I've only found one that is ever open. And that's less than half the time I've been there. I'm not a regular among the big cities, but every time I've visited a capital I can NEVER find a shop that I can actually buy from. My first two days on this server consisted of me walking from town to town trying to find a place that sold bows and arrows. It was VERY annoying.
Well, my tavern is open for a large part of the day. It's because I have multiple employees standing in the sometimes, and because I stand there half-AFK myself a lot.
If you'd have visited Alras you would probably have seen people in my tavern.
(I've only seen Salvus populated once, on a Sunday. Been there on weekdays, and it's deserted all the time.)

and shops still wouldn't be able to sell everything with a lower price
Isn't that the point? Autoshops being more expensive gives real, roleplayed shops a chance too.
0 -
I'd rather have neither autoshops nor NPC's...
What's wrong with just roleplaying?
Oh, and all the people saying it's too expensive; Remember the King's road? Shops from the temple to Al'K, all with junk noone wants. Making it.expensive deterres people from making shops everywhere.

UTC is the international standard, and avoids confusion over DST. In the winter UTC = GMT.

Please use UTC when talking about timezones, makes everything much easier.

((Looked around to get a room there once for the night, but there was noone to help me, maybe hire some people to work in the inn?
You might also need a few more seats (stairs with paintings) at the bar downstairs, people like to sit down after a long journey.))

This portrayl uv 'iebe is rather.. Inacurate? There was no rebellion nor was there any problems with the Bravaxes. I did enjoy yer paper though and I 'ope te see more uv em in the future. ((Good job with this. Is there an in-game version?
((can news papers be found in-game? where are stalls stationed? i would very much like to see agents going out and getting perspectives on stories from players))
((There's only an online version for now, when I get my hands on a reasonable amount of paper I can paste it ingame, and sell them for a low price at my tavern (To compensate for the price of the paper) ))
The next newspaper might arrive Saturday, no promises though.

*whilst travelling, you come across a small newspaper stall. The man greets you good-day then hands you a newspaper, you continue on your travels and begin to read.*
[[Please suppress any negative comments or feelings on the topics involved or the newspaper itself.
Please approach me IG if you have any queries or want to advertise/donate to the newspaper. Thank you.]]

You'll need seeders for a torrent. No seeders, slow torrent. And question: how do you compress files, and using what program?
The seeders are also the people that download ;)
Otherwise, if Vaquxine was the only seeder, and used the same server to upload it would actually take just as long. (Except maybe extra overhead)

I've been using Doku's RPG texture pack / Dokucraft for about a year and a half now, and I'm not planning on changing it, as I've never seen a texture pack that looks better.

Ah, Ark's End. I remember it clearly, I slept there on my first day in Aegis, and helped it's innkeeper with something. I support you in bringing this memory back so players can enjoy it once more!
(Not signing though, as I'm not going to live there ;) )

The passports could of course include date of birth, eyecolour, haircolour, race and gender to counter stolen personalities. They could also tell the noble title which would be needed for high positions and noble homes.
((All passports should be written by one or two people, and you could use their author mcname as a 'seal'
edit; forgot ooc brackets))

It's in the OOC rule section... :3
(Don't'chu'troll'me.)
So the rule is no talking about religion ooc? My interpretation seems more logic...
Anyway, the discussions will most likely end in flaming so, there's not a real point in them.
(Any reason this rule has been added? Enormous flame wars in /ooc?)

'The Disussion of any real life religous beliefs is strictly prohibited'.
I reslly don't think this should be a rule, discussion of religion should be permitted, as long as it in no way offends someone. Saying 'I believe in God, and that he made the world etc' Should be allowed, but 'God isn't real! Stupid religion!' should be what isn't allowed...
^ Nobody take the quote there offensively please. >.>
The rule is about discussing RL religions IC. If people are discussing religion IC it's allowed of course, as long as they don't use real life religions (No references to Jesus, Muhammed and they bro's), as that is using OOC information ingame. Those people have never lived, and/or the books have never been written in the world of Aegis/Asulon.
(Oh, and Danny I'm offended by you quoting "I believe in God...", please remove that asap ;) )

Gaius, you'll have to take timezones into account.
Imaging waking up, logging in to lotc, and find Nuremberg in ruins, with almost everything looted? A few Sariants might have been online, but as most of them are American, some Europeans were able to just walk into the city and loot it.
Sounds fun? I don't think so.

The Free Word of Oren-Pepernoot
A great piece of political propanda. Definitely a nice piece of history for Oren.
Thanks, Cerlos (My older char) wrote that when he was young and rebellious. He has written some propaganda newspapers later, this time pro Oren.
The titles are:

I fail to understand how Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby was failed to be played.
No need to play an mp3 of it, it's an easy song to play on the guitar ;)
I'll play it on TS if you do the vocals.

((Roger (Ithelias) has been trying to become a squire, I spoke to Braxis about this (IC) and to Janos (OOC), I now need Gideon's permission. I'd prefer Janos OOC though, as he's GMT.
Just making this post as a reminder, and so Gideon knows about it ;)
Edit: Accepted as Janos' squire, you can add me to the post))

If you are planning your own government shouldn't this be in the nation charter section? I thought this was for towns, ruled by existing nations, only?

((A baron is a noble without a grand estate or town, right? If so, you forgot to put the young Roger Ithelias, son of the late Steward of Galahar, Cerlos Ithelias, on the list ;) (I'm a gold vip, so both Cerlos and Roger are a baron) ))
