  1. OOC: Just some ideas floating around:

    - Double gates at the entrances. This would keep uninvited guests from slipping in during times of war or when we're on lock-down for whatever reason. The inner chamber between the two gates would be outfitted with arrow dispensers, maybe a murder hole above as well for shooting arrows or pouring water. If anyone inside gets froggy during entry, the guards activate the dispensers and the intruder is dealt with.

    - Interrogation room with cobwebs to "hold down" the man being questioned. Also might have a containment room with a collapsible floor. If they aren't answering the questions to our satisfaction we drop them into a dark pit full of mobs and they fight bare handed to the death.

    - Zig-zagging cactus wall as well as a 1-block "lip" on the outer edge of the perimeter wall. This would kill annoying mobs, prevent prowlers from getting too close and the lip would keep spiders from climbing into the city at night.

    - If we ever get around to conquering territory and taking out enemy monuments, statues, thrones, things of that nature, we could rebuild them along our roads and walls as stolen "war trophies".

That's all for now, just thinking of ideas out loud before I forget.

  2. OOC: I'm definitely in favor of sewers, that's one of my favorite parts of Al'Khazar. I like the look of the stone/cobble/mossy cobble as well, maybe some random grates that allow sunlight through and some patches of grass or mushrooms. If the moving water causes too much lag, we could try to keep the water stationary, unless it's just water in general that causes the lag. Maybe some levers to start/stop the flow. I'd like to see some chambers that can be flooded when not in use, or when under attack, to make them more difficult to access. Afterwards, the whole sewer could be "turned off" so that there are only a few source blocks of water here or there and maybe a couple flooded entrances or small pools.

Another idea: If we ever get built up enough so that we're guarding Krugmar and taking prisoners, we could have a gladiator arena in the prison (Or just reduce the prison down to a gladiator arena.) Prisoners are forced to fight one another or possibly fight orcs to the death. If they die they die. If they win, we order them to stand over a piston-activated hatch, then we flush them down a sewer pipe outside of the city walls.

  3. The description of nomads makes them sound like the brute, warrior class of orcs while the shaman are sort've the elder/priest variety. I'd rather see orcs just be orcs, remove shaman and nomad classes and add trolls. This gives three races for more variety without limiting them to a certain profession. Orcs, goblins and trolls could all potentially become shaman or warriors depending on their role-play and what they choose to specialize in. Orcs and trolls would start out with warrior stats, goblins would get tinkerer stats, etc.

  4. Me gots 5,000+ Minas to kill and want sandstone in bulk. Name fair price. If you know of any shops selling, let me know dat too. Send me little birdie to tell if you got.

((PM Ned_Lud in-game. Good chance for newer players (than me) to make some money. Just make sure you're not scarring the land as you excavate.))

  5. ((I've been playing for less than a week, but I'm enjoying myself, despite all the transitional limbo. Got to hack down some ghasts and undead and watch the Undead Keep fall just last night. We've got a solid little player base right now that seems to be putting things back together, so just sit tight. Also, if you're tired of waiting, submit a villain application and incite some animosity with the other races, start pissing off guards at Al'Khazar, killing inferior races that trespass on Krugmar land, etc. Also, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the Undead test the waters with us, especially after this change in command and restructuring of our forces.))

  6. I don't like our current sub-races. Orcs shouldn't be so restricted, so black and white compared to the other races. I've only played for a few days but I'm tired of having players ((correct)) me on my variant of broken english that I choose to role-play with.

Orcs are orcs. We're not goblins or trolls. A "nomad" warrior should have just as much opportunity to learn magic as a "shaman", provided that he sacrifices some of his combat prowess and plays the part. Not all nomads are dumbass grunts and it's not so groundbreaking to have warrior shaman that started out as groundpounders. If every nomad plays a xenophobic moron, and every shaman plays a well-spoken wise man, and all goblins tinker with stuff, that makes for a very boring role-playing experience. Shaman's ought to be standard orcs that earn their magical abilities through role-play rather than just choosing it as a subclass.

If magic is to be available to the other races in such a way, orcs ought to have it as an option as well. Give us 2-3 sub-classes that have no real, ultimate bearing on our profession (Desert Orcs, Swamp/Forest Orcs, Mountain Orcs, whatever), then have goblins and trolls filed in as well (if it's easier to keep it like that rather than create two new races.)

And yeah, Trolls, totally. I would have played as a troll if it were an option.

  7. Shame to see a brudda go, with The Golden Age upon us. Dem human guards will get what's comin'!

((Take care. If you want your stuff dispersed to the clans I'd be willing to loot it off your dead body. Hope to see you stagger back somehow, but gotta do what's fun for you.))

  8. Only revolt me see is from dead Dominus and idle Rex. We crush dem with a quickness. Orc need strong warrior to lead, not silent builder or hunting accident. We know dis.

((No OOC disrespect, I think this needs to happen though. The Rex seems idle and a Dominus just re-rolled. Let us pick up the pieces. This goes beyond any one-man duel. The fact that so many active orcs jumped right in to support this shows that it's more than just a fickle power-grab. Nothing personal, just seems like this might be an administrative necessity for us to move forward.))

  9. You have my fists, brazahs. Orc is born in revolt, this is no new ting for us. If Rex too busy, den let strong, active warlords step up and bring us da order dat we need. Rex's come and go, Dominus too. It be our brazah orcs dat we must follow to da end.

Faint heart never punched fair maiden. We know dis. If we be to remain strong and fearful to our enemy, we need be able to speak what need be said, and den go and do what need be done, and brutally slaughter all who get in way. Put der head on stick and laugh while we drink to victory.

If any orc show weakness, we must make dem strong, or at least give honorable death. We know dis.

  10. Nice map. An arrow showing the direction of north would help tremendously for those of us that are new or just horrible map readers. I've gotten lost several times trying to navigate off of the land and map together. I assume north is the upper right? But then there's a region in the lower left called The North? Sun sets in the west, clouds drift northward, either way it's confusing for someone new to the land.

Then again, I'm an orc. Me not know what my been doin'.

    Thanks.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm just an average guy, married with kids. I enjoy games in my spare time.

-How long have you played minecraft?: A few months.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I understand role-playing. I've played a little Dungeons and Dragons and some online, text-based role-playing games. Not fully immersed, but I've enjoyed my experiences with it so far.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: Strict focus on rules and role-play, but hopefully friendly and fair as well.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've only played one or two other servers. Didn't necessarily leave either of them, but I'm still exploring for one that makes the role-playing element enjoyable, rather than just sheer PvP.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: Yes, the rules are fine. I've read the lore but will continue to read over it as I wait for approval, since there is quite a bit there to sink in.

-Name the 4 races on this server. Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Orcs.

-How did you hear about us?: Saw the banner on minestatus.net while searching for role-playing servers.

-What was your favourite Law?: "You must keep in character." This law covers the majority of other laws, so long as players keep their actions in the spirit of the law.

-What was your least favourite Law?: "Theft is permitted in moderate amounts." I like to steal and would like to see theft in large amounts so long as the game and it's plugins allow it. I'm sure once I've played a bit I'll see how this law factors in though.
