  1. I agree with the majority of this post, though I do have an idea in order to balance the "cooldown time" set on raids. I propose that if the faction who was attacked first decides to retaliate within its two day/four day/one week period, then they are open to another raid themselves. The cooldown is a way to ensure that factions who do not enjoy combat RP are not constantly being raided, and I understand that. But if those same people decided to violate their own peace, then why should they still be granted this period of recuperation? Obviously they are not struggling in the conflict if they can mount their own assault before the time is up. Put into context: -The orcs attack Abresi on a Monday (the 15th), this starts the one week no-raid timer. Next Monday (the 22nd) would be the earliest the orcs could raid again. -Oren decides it wants to attack the orcs that Wednesday (the 17th), they take eight men and raid Gronkkston. -Because Oren decided to attack during its own grace period the orcs are now allowed to attack before that next Monday (the 22nd). The one raid to two days ratio should not apply to raids done in retaliation for a previous attack. To be completely honest with you, I believe this limitation should be removed entirely, it only serves to put unnecessary restricts on a necessary part of wartime roleplay. But if not, then here's my idea. Put into context: -Oren raids the dwarves on a Tuesday (the 10th), the dwarves can not be raided again for two days (the 12th). -The dwarves decide to raid the orcs on Wednesday the 11th, they attack Gronkkston. -The orcs are allowed to retaliate against the dwarven nation before their two days are up (the 12th). Edit: After doing some more reading on the previous pages and thinking on the situation myself, I simply can't find a justification for anything more than a two day raid cap across the board. It simply doesn't make any sense in RP and it only makes a trivial amount of sense in OOC. All this is doing is prohibiting a form of RP that honestly causes very little in the way of issues, it's simply those who bring their complaints to OOC that are heard the loudest. And rarely does that even happen any longer, so why is the staff spending their time fixing something that is not truly broken? My second complaint that I simply must bring up, is the warzone rule. The argument that the staff seems to constantly bring up is that folks wander into warzones and simply get no RP killed when they are in fact uninvolved. This has happened sparingly, and only in the most recent warzone between the dwarves and the orc/human/elf coalition. There was in fact a very successful warzone organized between the dwarves and humans in the first Dwarf-Human world war. There were zero complaints, and to my knowledge no ban reports directly related to that warzone. The issue of informing players when they are entering such a zone can be easily nullified by a simple region greeting being placed down saying something along the lines of, "You hear the clash of steel and screams of dying men as you enter the _______ battlegrounds. ((PvP zone))" or simply "((You have entered the _______ warzone. If you do not intend on participating, then it is recommended you find another way around.))"

  5. I had the exact same thoughts so I went ahead and PM'd Native, I gave him a multitude of valid reasons as to why it should be so and he said he'll poke around a bit for us. Fingers crossed!
  6. I would pressure you to come and experience what you're effectively attempting to end here before laying down the rules. The set of rules our leaders drafted have been working perfectly, except perhaps the rare occurrence of a new or uninvolved player being killed. By removing the player's ability to outline our own rules in these wars, you're effectively cutting off source of fun RP that has been keeping large groups of people constantly active throughout the day. Not only that, but staff-created rulings on most wars have never worked in the past, only creating another set of restrictive rules that simply can not be applied to all situations clearly or properly. The current system encourages cooperation between nation leaders and their playerbases as well as providing a ruleset that both sides have agreed upon and are therefore more likely to follow. Again, please consider your actions and the affect they will have on the majority (the hundred or so people participating in this war) rather than the minority (i.e. those few who have been killed). I am not trying to say that their opinion is unimportant, but I do believe it pales in comparison to the hours worth of fun that have been gained by both sides in this war. On a slightly unrelated note, the question the staff should ask themselves when it comes to general rulings is "Why shouldn't we allow/accept this?" versus what seems to be the general way of making decisions now, "Why should we allow/accept this?" EDIT: We have been taking measures to punish those on both sides of the war who take combat outside of the agreed upon area, meaning over the bridge between northern and southern Anthos. I have also been stressing the importance of those who are taking part in the war to set their status to the proper symbol (affectionate/mounted for UAC and casting for the dwarves). I know for a fact that I have not killed anybody without the faction status aside from those who had already attacked me.
  7. Wulgehn mutters something about how it's hardly a real klomp if they aren't using their fists...
  8. All the chill folks I got to hang around with throughout my year and a half as an orc player. Honestly, our race isn't made up by the culture, or even by our roleplay, it's defined by the OOC mindset of those who decide to stick around. It's been a shame to see some of those guys taking a bow the last few days, hell even I don't play all that often anymore. But I think for now it's time that a new generation of orcish players takes the reins!
  9. I feel like this could cause problems with the Cloud Temple becoming a central hub of all the RP on the map again because of the nonsensical rule where everybody is completely safe from harm there. This was a huge issue in Asulon and it would be a shame to see it replicated in Anthos...

  14. I wholeheartedly agree with this promotion! But I must also say... Ever... It will happen.
  15. I'd be glad to help with some dungeon building, I think it's safe to say I'm fairly good at building structures and creating atmosphere. I'm not exactly a redstone whiz but I have a basic understanding of circuitry as well to compliment my building. It's important to note that I haven't been spending oodles of time dedicated to the server or really Minecraft anymore, but I'll see what I can do! Here's some of my work to peruse... http://imgur.com/a/4217n#0 http://imgur.com/a/x950T#0 http://imgur.com/a/S2sL0#0 http://imgur.com/a/Q0gZs#0 http://imgur.com/a/vhPOc#0 http://imgur.com/a/eOXTZ#0 And to the rest of the post... I certainly support these changes, nice work! Edit: My Skype name is mingpow321.
  16. Might I ask that if somebody is simply posting something for forum reputation but they're attaining it, does that not mean that they're making posts and threads that the majority of the server's population agrees with? It's not as if somebody can give a post multiple plus ones, so therefore a plus one is akin to one person saying they agree. If fifty people plus one something then it's safe to say it's a popular opinion or simply a good post. It's literally impossible to post "for rep" because the only way to get a lot of plus ones on a post is to make a post that gar ners a lot of support. So yes, maybe somebody enjoys gaining reputation points, but those very reputation points they're gaining attests to the fact that they make posts that are viewed in a positive light. In conclusion, I see no issues with the current system the way it is aside from the lack of a minus one button. Jus' sayin'...

  18. Returned from vacation about three days earlier. Great trip but I was so ready to get back to being a gaming recluse.

  19. I'll be back from my vacation on Thursday, can't wait to be home. To my orcish brethren, I'll be drafting up a post explaining Wulgehns whereabouts for the past month. Seeya soon!

  20. ((Only if our friend John stops with the real tears, otherwise Gaiusism might do him some good. There's no need for players to get up in arms and rage at others making posts in roleplay, it's rather pathetic and in poor tastes. It's actions such as those that make entire events like this start, and typically end, on bad terms. I know the High Elves are aware of that and I'd hope they're attempting to convey that to those few players who have a hard time handling the fact that something bad might happen to their character. I dealt with the high elves on my goblin for a fair few months and I know for a fact that the majority of you don't allow ill-mannered and poorly worded insults and arguments to fly. Doddles back off to his vacation.)) Wulgehn continues to sit in his blarg, meditating and conversing with the Ancestral Lur spirits.
  21. I'm asking this in the most serious and completely untrolly way possible. Is referring to somebody as a genderbender now considered a bannable offense?
