  1. Talks of a complete lore reboot have been going around since about halfway through 3.0, at least ones that I was privy to. I personally agree that a change of pace, a new setting would be very interesting. The thing is, the same old groups are going to reform just as something new to fit the setting. Therefore, the same people are going to rise to power, the same folks are going to be at the top of the money list, and Minecraft will still be Minecraft. To be honest, OOC skills and traits run the server. If somebody is good at leadership, they'll easily amass a following and lead them into good RP and prosperity. If a person is good at collecting wealth OOCly, they'll be the rich ones again (Syrio, Chumpchump, etc.). While I don't see this as a problem, it essentially defeats the purpose of a complete lore reset.
  2. The dwarf squealed as a fire seemed to sear through his mid-section, the sharpened stakes at the bottom of the pit trap having impaled him as he reached the bottom of his descent. The shouts of his comrades above echoed in his ears as he looked up at the small square of light, their figures silhouetted against the sun, what two of them there were left after the drop had decimated his war party. It had all happened so quickly, even with his doubts spurred on by the recent string of losses his brothers had sustained, the dwarf had thought they might inflict some casualties. The dwarf began to shake as he laid in the filth at the bottom of the pit, his vision blurring and fading in and out of red. With no small amount of shaking and coughing, he reached up with his right hand, grasping the large stake that now sprouted from his abdomen. The shouts of his comrades had stopped, cut short by their screams as the swords of the Orenian men fell upon them. He found himself angry, jealous of their easy death as he lay here in agony at the bottom of a muck-covered pit. "No' much long'r now," the dwarf thought to himself as he heard the sound of men descending a ladder somewhere above his head. And he was right, shortly after the sound stopped he was greeted by the face of a grizzled Imperial Army soldier. The soldier quickly made his way between the dying dwarves and the corpses at the bottom of the pit, delivering quick deathblows to each. The man came to him last... he watched the misericorde as it was quickly slipped beneath the rim of his helmet and into his head, ending him immediately.
  3. A letter is sent bearing the seal of House Horen. "Albrecht Horen will attend this tournament and intends to compete in both the melee and the joust."
  4. The rescue party led by Ser Albrecht Horen was a success. After finding a strelt with knowledge of the kidnappers' last known location they were led to a small camp on the outskirts of Kaldonia. They found the child, Crius Sellius Horen hiding in the camp with no trace of the criminals themselves. Though a sign on the wall of the camp told Albrecht all he needed to know, the Firmin family would soon find themselves in a world of hurt.
  5. ((To all whom are in wonder, and to those of whom may wish to serve, House Horen, of Oren, and of the Dragon Blood, request the assistance of a trained and willing Worker-force and Combat Experienced Troops as bannermen to mobilize into a combat unit. With ancient blood, I, Albercht of Horen, ask that those whom have the experience and the will to serve under the Banner of Horen, and the Armies of Oren, pledge their will and blood to House Horen.)) -The Dragon Guard- -History- The “Imperial” Dragon Guard was an order of Orenian Knights who were originally formed by Lord Commander Athirius "The Shield" Owl I. Their primary purpose was to protect the Emperor, with the secondary purpose of protecting the entire Imperial family of Horen. The Knights of the Dragon Guard where separate from the Holy Order of the Red Dragon, although they did follow the same Knighting ceremony. With the return of many Horens from overseas and the reformation of the Empire, The Dragon Guards are currently reformed by House Horen to serve and protect the ancient family. To serve as their liege men of flesh and blood and to be there levied force. -Purpose- The Dragon Guard acts as banner force of House Horen. They serve House Horen and protect the family, aswell as all Horen lands and strongholds. They also serve as a raised levy for the Empire in times of war when there Lord commands. -- -Godfreys word to the Dragon Guard- -The Tenets of the Dragon Guard- The Dragon Guard has tenets that every man must follow. The breaking of these tenets are met with their respective punishments: 1. A Man must show complete loyalty to the House Horen. Any man who shows disloyalty will receive a swift punishment. 2. A Guard may never take the life of another Guard. To do so will result in immediate execution. 3. A Guard may never steal from another Guard. To do so will result in banishment from Guard, with all possessions stripped. 4. A Man must believe wholeheartedly in the true God, and his creation of Horen and the world. Lack of faith within the Guard will result in banishment from the Guard, with all possessions stripped and to be handed in to the Church. 5. A Man must never use God’s name in vain, or talk of God with ill intentions. To do so will result in flogging and placement in a pillory. -- -Ranks- Officers: -Master Of Arms- The Master Of Arms commands The Dragon Guard and deals with all matters relating to House Horens forces. Master Of Arms will serve with undoubted loyalty. Having climbed this far, Masters are expected to know what to do and when to do it. The current Master of Arms is Albrecht Horen [Mingpow321]. -Lieutenant- A Lieutenant would be the chief assistant to the Captain. Being as that may, the Lieutenant would be the right hand of the Captain. If the Captain is busy, the Lieutenant is there to fill that void. This man has worked extremely hard for his rank and should be looked upon with respect. The current Lieutenant(s) is Lynas [seannie22]. -Serjeant- Serjeants are junior officers, they are closest to their men as they are with them almost all the time. Serjeants are expected to serve with all their spirit and heart, making sure their men stay alive on the battlefield with the vigilance of Godfrey himself. Being so close to the men, the Serjeant would be first to blame if something went amiss. The current Serjeant(s) is Benedict [flyer4617/Thatpyrodude]. Enlisted: -Man At Arms-(armsman) The final and most veteran rank of the Dragon Guard enlisted, the Men At Arms are those who have shown their strength and fighting prowess numerous times on the battlefield. They are looked upon by others with much respect and should return said respect back. To the Man At Arms, an order is no longer an order. It is law. As demonstration of commanding abilities are shown they may be considered for Serjeant. -Lance- The lowest rank in the Dragon Guard. They are not only the backbone, but also the most plentiful. The Lance acts as the serving soldier in the Dragon Guard, the Guard would fall apart without them acting in proper accordance. With proper training and service, they will make their way to Warder. -- -Uniforms- Tabard Armour: The Tabard variant of the Dragon Guard uniform can be worn by any member of the Order, but it is compulsory for Footmen to wear it. Plate Armour: The Plate variant of the Dragon Guard uniform can only be worn by those who have achieved the rank of Sergeant or above. -- [[ All those who seek to join the Guard are to send a PM to this account. The PM should be an IC letter describing your character's desire for joining, and an OOC description as well. ]]
  6. It hurts... It hurts... It hurts... It hurts... WHY DOES IT ALL HURT? -- But in all honesty, the 'majority rules' rule was removed because it only served to cause conflict between the two parties. The current system has been less than flawless, though we can all agree the amount of conflict-RP related ban reports has dropped significantly since the change. The combat RP situation on this server has been a constant one step forward, two steps backwards situation for the longest time. I honestly don't have it in me to write another multi-paragraph response to these rule changes anymore...

  15. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/100859-lutaumen-expansion/ That is the most up-to-date and expansive post on the Lutauman subtype of Shamanism available. It also clarifies the Spirit Realm and how it works for those of you who seem to be utterly confused... The Spirit Realm is indeed an orc-only affair (though exceptions can be made by the spirits, ie Lex'Lur the dwarf), it has been so for as long as Shamanism has been a thing on this server. Unfortunately, many people seem to have been mislead by the actions of a single high elf Lutauman who was made a Lutauman by a shaman who always had very... liberal beliefs. Krug is indeed the most powerful spirit in existence as he was the first being ever to manipulate the Spirit Realm and also one of the greatest orcs ever to live. Read on in that post above for further clarification that would be redundant for me to post here...
  16. The Targoth looks between his fellow orcs, shaking his head slowly with a scowl painted upon his visage. He snorts in mock laughter occasionally and remains silent for the majority of their banter, every once and awhile he'll emit a low growl or grunt. Wulgehn'Lur was disappointed in the way his uruk brethren had turned against one another at a moment's notice, the possibility of new power had always twisted the strongest of minds. "Bruddahz, azh week agu we waz klompin' alongzide azh anuthur az we shuld... Nuw latz argue agh debayt lyke albaiz agh stoutz du en dere counzil chamburz. 17. How many chromosomes are you missing? What is your stance on EGMATUTOEGMOLOTC? Will you do your best to secure Everard his lightning powers in 4.0? Will you secretly fund the orcish nation, specifically myself, with your money-making skills?
  18. Wulgehn'Lur also recieved a great vision from the Spirits, its message remaining cryptic and unclear until the recent Azog-Lur victory. It came to him in the form of odd sounds and moving images...
  19. The thought of somebody wondering such a thing crosses Wulgehn's mind, he thinks his response would be something along the lines of... "Mi aktualleh went dere zpecifically tu demand azh perzon whu had brokun da rulingz zet by an honur klomp, mi nub realleh planned un ztartin' war ad firzt. Den wen mi attempted tu mayk converzatiun wiv da twiggeh whu klaimed tu be un da kounzil, zhe conztantly inzulted mi agh mi bruddahz. 20. Wulgehn'Lur stood atop the highest hill in Gronkkston, overlooking all that the orcs had achieved in recent years. It was a beehive of activity, constant shouting and the clang of steel echoing between the hills and the cliffside to the west. The cliff wasn't the only thing that laid to the west, there were enemies there as well, enemies that Wulgehn was hellbent upon teaching a lesson. He had taken the insults of elves for far too long, in the uruk society an insult was met with a violent klomp between brothers. He had come to the realization that if he would fight his brothers- his blood for their ill spoken words, then why should he let an elf spew their ilk at his entire race? -- This epiphany had been revealed to Wulgehn after his last attempt at negotiations with the elves, discussions centered around necessary retribution for a breach in the laws of honor. Well, discussions that had been intended to be centered around such, he thought. Instead it had been endless hours of poorly formed insults that seemed to come right from the mind of a halfling. Being the Targoth, Wulgehn had decided that the orcs would repay these words with fire and brimstone. And so when he had arrived back in Gronkkston he immediately set about finishing the rankings of the newly reformed Krughai and amassing his forces. Of course, it was not hard to set the orcs upon a war with the elves, the two had not been true allies for hundreds of years, ever since a betrayal seared into the minds of elder orcs. He had decided it would not be prudent to take the lands of the elves, the orcs had enough lands already and another fort would spread them thin. With that in mind, Wulgehn decided the only true way to teach his enemies a lesson was to unleash his raiders upon them in a maelstrom of raging, barbaric bloodlust, fire and unbridled destruction. -- The Targoth stepped a bit lower upon the hill overlooking his army in order to address them, he did not believe a true speech was necessary. Sucking in his chest, Wulgehn let loose a great howl which was met by the similar sounds of his great Lur wolves. The howl was quickly followed by another yell as the Targoth bellowed two simple words... "GLOZAG VOTAAAAR!" The war cry was met by a cacophonous round of warcries and shouts, the clanging of weapons against shields and armor, and the bark and howl of wolves. ((OOC)) War Type: Pillage. In the case of an orcish victory, the remaining military forces will be allowed to loot chests and inflict some aesthetic damage. When the sound of horns summons them to war, the Brutes are at the vanguard of the orcish march. Pug- The rank for orcs that seriously breach the laws, or don’t learn from being klomped a few times. An orc who is made a pug must spend 3 days at this rank and has to be active around Gronkkston during that time. He is reduced to wearing only leather, and he wields only a stick. He can be ordered to do any task (within reason) whilst a Pug and must complete that task as soon as possible. An orc made a Pug that can't accept these conditions or fails to spend his time at Gronkkston during his sentence, will have his punishment extended or be Banished from the War Uzg. Rules Basic Rules The commands of a superior are to be followed without hesitation. In the event of two orders conflicting, the order given by the highest rank is to be followed. Dishonor and cowardice will never be tolerated amongst the ranks of the Krughai. Each orc that has attained the rank of Brute is required to have a set of iron armor and a weapon on his person at all times. If they do not have access to armor or a weapon, then they are to speak to a superior. Looting Rules The orc is entitled to the possessions of those whom he has killed. The orc is entitled to the loot they have received from any battles or raids. The orc is not to loot his fallen brothers. Raiding Rules Only Bigbosses and above are allowed to lead raids. Raids are not to be carried out upon neutral or allied factions unless they are specifically ordered by the Targoth. Raids are not to be carried out if the losses are estimated to be greater in value than the spoils. Proper punishment for the breaching of these rules will be decided by a Warboss, and in more severe cases the Targoth. The severity of the offense will determine the punishment. Renown and Decorations Coming Soon!
  23. Wulgehn'Lur looks around with one eyebrow cocked, wondering how Boul, his apprentice whom he'd never even had a single lesson with, had somehow passed up his years of experience as Lutauman. He decides to take up the misunderstanding with Broxigar when they meet next...
