  1. It's okay guys, I'm just a giant bully.

  2. I got curious so I went on the Google trends feature. I searched up Lord of the Craft, it peaked back in September of 2011. I then went and searched not Minecraft, but Minecraft roleplay. Interest in Minecraft Roleplay has simply continued to climb and has still yet to peak. So I suppose we have to ask ourselves, what exactly are we doing wrong?

We do a lot of good, we do a bit of bad. I think a lot of our problems lie in our map design, although our strong intertwining of OOC and RP certainly does not help...

4.0, when it comes will hopefully be designed with the betterment of the server's general RP quality in mind and not just designed by those who wish to rule over something.

  4. Wulgehn, Wargoth of the Lur Clan, stands in front of one of the posts, reading over it with narrowed eyes. He pulls it from the board and brings it closer to his face. At certain points he ***** an eyebrow or snorts huffs in confusion. Upon completing the long account, Wulgehn lowers the paper and smiles to himself. These will be formidable foes for him and his brothers to hunt, quite certainly. He secures the paper back to the post once more with a dagger, so that other orcs might take notice.
  5. Well it should first be made clear that your advantage in using daggers is the fact that you can use them when in crowded/compact areas, unlike bulkier weapons. You want to close the distance between you and your opponent as soon as possible and begin the grapple. As soon as you have them in a grapple you render their larger weapon mostly useless, whilst you can make stabs at vital areas. A number of weak spots in plate armor are the joints (namely the armpit, allowing you to stab down and into the lungs/heart), the back of the legs and into the helmet's visor/beneath the rim of the helmet. The majority of dagger/knife fights are about being quick, not about blocking. You aren't going to be doing much parrying at all with daggers, especially not against heavy broadswords or axes, so avoid trading blows. Basically just remember to quickly close the distance and initiate the grappling, also make sure your opponent doesn't have time to get their own knife/dagger into their hands Hope that helped to clear up some of the issues you were having! :)
  6. I'm not particularly sure where you got your information on the longbow, but in reality it took a master bowman to use a powerful longbow with any semblance of skill. The most powerful of longbows have a draw-weight of 150 pounds, a massive pull that would take years to adjust to. The majority of medieval longbowmen began training in early childhood, starting with bows that had a weak draw and working their way up to the massive longbows that could punch through all but the finest plate armor. Now, a composite bow was actually easier to use due to its recurved ends and the materials it was made of, allowing for more power with less draw-weight. However, it was less accurate at long ranges and less powerful than the English longbow. The main advantage of the composite bow (and where it saw most use) was the fact that it could be fired from horseback, making it an extremely useful weapon in the hordes of Genghis Khan. A commonly used tactic of mounted archers was to gather into a revolving circle in front of the enemy, firing arrows as you came around to face them, then continuing on in the circle to reload. All of that aside, I believe the guide will be a useful one. Good work! Edit: Dun got ninja'd by SteelMarshall! This is why I need to take the time to read...
  7. A week ago we had a ban report posted for the placement of a cobblestone block. Now we have one for the placement of two pressure plates... The trauma these poor people must be going through.

  9. Get off my profile, Divinus. You're not welcome there.

    I love you.

  10. If any of the people who I happen to be around a lot on the RP server are wondering where I am. Dun' worry, I'm just going hardcore on the 3.0 dev server, cranking out an orc city we can all appreciate.

  11. Is this going to be using the accepted alchemy lore or is it going off of a different system completely? I ask this out of curiosity for how the guild will work, not in an attempt to get you pinned for breaking lore. :D []
  12. That's bizarre, my forum post count when viewing a topic shows 511 posts. My forum post count when viewing my profile shows only 497 posts.

  21. ((On the contrary my friend, the Guilds threads are used for unique guilds! I don't know how many times I've seen a guild claiming to be knights who will 'vanquish evil'. If you guys end up being a great guild, like the White Ravens were back in Aegis, then all the power to you!))
  22. Arn hears word of yet another group of 'Knights' he begins chuckling to himself... "Knight is an earned title, nay ye' may not need to be a member of Oren but you must prove yourself. I have not seen anything from this guild, they have not earned their title. For all I know, they could be a group of farmers who've decided to lay down their pitchforks and fashion some rusty swords..." He shakes his head and sighs, resuming reading over the numerous reports spread across his table...
  23. Is this guild still active and such? If so, I may consider joining when I get around to creating my new character.
