After many years of service he was given the option to leave the army and settle down, and he took this offer. When he left for his home, on the way he met a kind girl. About a year prier to this meeting the two got married. Then a year later they had a son. For the next fifteen years Dante progressed his blacksmith skills and swordsmanship. Then he was given the order by the army to go and lead a group of soldiers to kill a rebel force, and they succeeded with their mission, but when he came back he found his home in flames and his wife and son murdered. He searched for any clues of their killers, but only found a note that said "Ice then Fire." In is frustration and anger he left his home, and he traveled for eleven years, until he came upon Aegis.
