  1. A simple note was found in reply.

Is this not saying, those who speak out against the pure dare not even put their name on their ridicule. I spoke up against a man who lead you to war, who time and time again have proven his impurity. I explained why I believe Cenwall to be unfit to rule, we shall let a debate prove who is right and who is wrong - If Mister Maeyr’onn honors tradition and shows up -.

  2. 1 minute ago, Crinky said:

Varen'thal would hear news of the challenge, a wide smile permeating his features.

"Have you not heard, dearest Athedil?" he would write,"With the recent government changes, the Sohaer can only be removed via impeachment."

"An impure Sohaer and council cannot be allowed to rule, I challenge him not by right of our laws, but in adherence to ancient tradition." Athedil would write in reply, continuing with a small side note. "But I do not expect a banished impure murderer to understand such matters."

In adherence to ancient tradition, I Athedil Acal’elor challenge Cenwall Maeyr’onn for his position as Sohaer.

For years this child has reigned by false ideals, unable to understand the true path Larihei envisioned for her blessed people. He along with his incompetent council have let you astray, he has taken our people away from wisdom, away from knowledge, away from silver. Under his reign he has killed mali’aheral in acid, he has cast people in gold, he has shown that he is cursed with violence, much like the curse that rested on his ancestor Nelecar the Lion.

Instead of teaching his people he has lead you to war, wasting your lives for a pointless dream of power. Much like Kalenz the Butterfly he is cursed by gold, more focused on the affairs of lessers, than the development of his own people. He attempts to return us to a time that ultimately lead to the world seeing our kin as a sickness to be cured or cleansed by fire, seeking us out to do us harm and bringing us ever further from our ideals. It is time to look back my fellow ‘aheral, back to a time where we were true to maehr’sae hiylun’ehya, to a time where those words were set as a standard driving our people towards ever greater heights, instead of being used as an excuse for why we should rule over others.

    H-sVU797oeifhyNYAcSXNH-98Oh9zvVzPqLRfnOo

The road forward from where we are now is full of hardships, unworthy ‘aheral and mali’ata have left our nation and its people in chaos and disorder, and it will take time to restore Haelun’or to a time where we were truly a beacon of scientific progress within this world, a time where we valued our neutrality and did our best to remain out of the destructive politics of the outside world.

Lucion the Worm once spoke of blessed neutrality, a state of politics where we sought relations with the outside world, yet stayed out of their wars. Was this not a better alternative to the needless deaths and suffering, caused by partaking in affairs that should have nothing to do with our people. Larihei taught us to shun violence as it was the weapon of lesser minds, we have no stake in their infighting, nothing to gain, nothing but a way to prove the impurity of this nation, and why it needs a change in leadership.

  5. Athedil still seemed to enjoy his stay away from the Haelun’or, this time he had found a pleasant little spot under a tree near the cloud temple to enjoy yet another glass of wine - He was running dry, a dreadful situation to be in to be true. He spent his time catching up on worldly news, or atleast the news he seemed to care about, which were few these days. “Such an odd last name, or is it simply because she has translated it to the common tongue for some reason, Titania Star, it should be Titania Celia, ah well, it matters little.” He muttered to himself as he continued reading, “Well I suppose she does point out some present issues, but what internal issues are she talking about now.” He shook his head lightly, before making it to the quote, “And then she quotes an impure who did next to nothing with his position, she must be new around Haelun’or.” He finally made it to the end, “What is this with ‘the mali’aheral shall rule once again’ bit, hopefully she isn’t another Kalenz supporter who wants to rule the world, we’ve had quite enough of those.” With a faint sigh he grabbed his wine glass once more, taking another sip, much to his surprise emptying the glass.

  6. Athedil sat in the inn at the cloud temple, enjoying his time away from Haelun’or and his former duties as Maheral of the Mali’aheral. As he came upon the notice and took some time to read it over, he came to laugh so hard he almost choked on his wine - which would have been such a shame, seeing as it was one of his last bottles from Axios - He quickly sought to regain his composure, making sure no one seemed to be eyeing him strangely. “My, my, so first they perform acts of savagery in mutilating one of their own kin, and now they want to act like they have even the faintest idea what maehr'sae hiylun'ehya is. To think these fools lived in Haelun’or during our more enlightened era, it seems they learned little. Ah, how I wish we just ended this idea that maehr’sae means progress, it may be the closest translation into the common language, but its real meaning is the creation of knowledge and wisdom, so it means progress specifically in that area.” He shook his head lightly as he spoke to himself, “Also, what is this with dressing up like spooks, these people are odd indeed. Perhaps they were dropped on their heads as children, but then again, one of Iat’s children seem to be amongst them, he doesn’t seem like the type to drop his kids, and the statistical chance of all of them being dropped is also quite small.”

Haelun’or, you were once a jewel of the land, a bastion of law, order and progress. People looked to us with disdain not because of the crimes we had committed against the outside world, but because we had achieved what they could only dream of. In times past we showed the world what it could become, how to govern, how to live, how to serve as a state of the best of what the world had to offer. This was the time of Asulon and the time after, when those who had originally found our ways within the Eternal college of Elcihi’thilln still ruled amongst us.

I tried to teach this Asulonian way of life, a way that came before the corruption of Kalenz, before the infighting, before the countless coups, before our path lost meaning and we as a people were cursed by gold. I have given many lessons, informed both council and citizenry of how they ought to conduct themselves, in both their daily lives, and when times get hard. However, despite learning our ways, knowing right from wrong, but a few have taken it to heart. Haelun’or has been cursed with slothfulness, when maehr’sae hiylun’ehya is tested by disagreements, by politics, by personal ambition, it is cast aside for the easier path. Instead of rising to the challenge of morals, customs, and the common good, these things are ignored or questioned with vague arguments in the hopes that they will be ignored and forgotten.

Maehr’sae hiylun’ehya is not a set of rules one must simply follow, it is a culture, a way of life, and as all other cultures it has norms, unwritten rules, things that simply are. But these norms, these customs, these ways, they are lost upon Haelun’or. This nation has forgotten what it once was, and what it was meant to be, none but a few still truly know our ways, to the point where they do not need constant confirmation that their every action is pure and right. Even our council, are but fumbling in the dark, trying to teach a path they time and time again have failed to follow themselves. Cenwall, our honored Sohaer, seems to be fighting a losing battle with his ever inflating ego, and now finally he and the rest of the council have seen fit to lift the banishment of a psychopathic murderer, that both Maheralan had deemed impure. This has served as the final drop, in a goblet overflowing from a lifetime of shortcomings.

My kin, my council, I urge you to consider this. Why do you think that our Elders are departing, why do you think they cannot stand to look upon what you have become. This nation has come to a state in its being, where the only thing it has to show for the superiority of it people, and its past is arrogance. An ever growing ego, with no base other than the self righteousness of those who carry it forward. I urge you my kin, shape up, alter this path, built up a reason for our superiority once more, and work to show that we are the beacons of progress.

    H-sVU797oeifhyNYAcSXNH-98Oh9zvVzPqLRfnOo8WvJBdia10XTinz_t7yyGLOAqaMGGsnadk15ba-UmAz4ZQVw3lqgvAVgDH8gQWhg2O7y8o38kyuJ-9IyLaiyHG_EaRxOIDOR

With this my time has come to depart this nation, I go to join our Elders in the far reaches where they may reside. As the first of the Maheralan, it falls upon me to name someone to take my place, I name the first amongst us, the original holder of the title. The time for Larihei to hold the title of Maheral has come again, may she keep it safe until someone suited for the position arise once more, to lead us down her path once again.

  8. “Since when did the Mali’thill need to imitate the valah in stroking their own egos with their millions of meaningless titles, bastion of purity, redeemer of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Cenwall you are lucky you haven’t been named impure of mind yet, don't flatter yourself too much.” Athedil complained to himself as he enjoyed a cup of tea on his balcony.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?:

    Arcanism

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

Arcanism or arcane evocation is in a way the very basis of the voidal evocation, the manipulation of pure arcane energy, and the process of giving it shape and purpose. Unlike the other elemental evocations, arcanism doesn’t take the form of a natural material, instead you call upon arcane wisps and guide them into your desired shape, because of this, it can be harder to study and learn, as you are no longer working with something you already have some knowledge about like the other elements. The color of the wisps is dictated by the aura of the caster, however remain translucent to the naked eye, meaning that all spells that would be cast are see through.

Arcanism is broken down into four main sub-genres:

    Projectiles:

The main form of ranged weaponry of the arcane mage, projectiles can take a multitude of shapes and sizes, ranging from things such as small but fast fist sized missiles, to beams of raw arcane energy and calldown spells. The bolts usually take a gas-like form, making them easier to cast than full solids. Arcane projectiles are rarely a one hit wonder, usually taking a multitude of attacks to whittle down your opponent.
It is to be noted that projectiles always use concussive force, as shaping the wisps into sharp edges takes tremendous skill making it near impossible.

    Weaponry:

The close combat arsenal for the arcane mage, the weaponry spells take on a more solid form than their projectile counterparts, however still shrouded in a thin veil of wisps. The weaponry is weightless to the caster, making it easier to handle, they do however still have the force behind them to carry out a proper blow. Much like projectiles, the weapons are most often blunt, as shaping a sharp edge requires immense skill and is near impossible to maintain for more than a few hits.

The weaponry can also be used as tools, such as hammers and chains to hold individuals in place.

    Shielding:

Ranging from small disc shields, to bubbles forming around the caster, or even others if that is what he desires. What truly sets the shields apart from the other aspects of Arcanism, is that they take the shape of true solids, formed into a translucent barrier. The barrier can ward off physical attacks, however does little to stave of things such as mental magic.

Shields require a constant supply of mana to be maintained, the mana needed depends on the strength of the shield and its size.

    Art:

Seeing as arcanism is able to take so many different shapes, using it for art carries an almost endless range of possibilities, limited only by the skill of the caster and their imagination. Seeing as there is no need to shape the arcane into solids, it is possible to make rather expansive creations, without expending too much mental effort and mana. This does however also mean, that the art creations cannot be used to harm anyone, as they would most likely dematerialize upon touch.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

Athedil stand in the empty room, the stone walls offering no decorations, only a few lights hanging from the ceiling to keep the room illuminated. He hands would be folded neatly on his back, and his chin held slightly aloft. As the student walked in he would gesture towards the center of the room, “Please approach, and stand within the designated area.” He would wait for the student to take his place.

“Seeing as you have overcome the basic steps of connecting to the void and drawing forth wisps, we shall be moving on to the next aspect of arcanism. A great many people would bother you with having to write poetry to open your mind to new possibilities, or perhaps observe nature and, perhaps even ‘feel’ it, as if that would do you any good. No, here under my tutelage you shall learn to use that pretty little head of yours, if you prove to be mentally able to handle it that is.” He would hold his hand out before him, opening his palm and facing it upwards. A faint twitch moved through him, and moments later light-purple wisps started materializing over his hand. “To use arcanism is to see, to imagine, and to convince your mind that anything is possible.” As he spoke, more and more wisps gathered, creating a formless shroud. “You need to be able to imagine the shape you wish to create, visualize it before you, and then shape it into being.” He slowly started tightening his hand into a fist, and as he did so the shroud he had created started taking the shape of a sphere, floating in the air above his hand.

The sphere floated for a moment, before Athedil lowered his hand to his side, letting it dematerialize. He’d once again fold his hands on his back, taking a few steps towards his pupil. “Now I want you to visualize something simple, whatever you feel like, I want you to see it clearly before you. Keep that image in your mind, examine it from different angles. Take a moment to do this.” He’d stand still, simply observing his student as he gave him time to prepare, and soon as he got a que that he was ready, he would continue. “If you have the image clear before you, I want you to do as we’ve practiced, call upon a few wisps from the void, feel their presence and your control over them, then imagine them taking the form you visualized before, and slowly guide them into shape.”

  11. "At one point in time the outside world blames us for not doing anything about the spooks living in our city, then when we start rooting them out and banish a known murderer they blame us for that as well." Athedil shook his head hopelessly, "Lessers, their idiocy has no end it seems… Though I will give them that our council, and people in general still need a good bit of cleaning out, we have puppeteers, degenerates, and worse yet; politicians.” The Maheral mumbled to himself, as he sat on his balcony enjoying the sunset with a hot cup of tea.

  12. 2 minutes ago, Gargled said:

"Athedil, you make me laugh, friend. It was public knowledge that I caused the death of Genevieve accidently- when the crazed witch Gwyneth tricked me mentally into doing so. I also made a public apology about this, most blessed one. You are simply bringing up something that was solved ages ago. Perhaps if you were more active within elcihi you would know? Ahernan, malaurir, but no." the elf responds publically to the notice, his face masked with a sadness.

“You admitted to knowingly killing her in my presence Varen, and informed me that you furthermore felt no regret about it. Like it or not you are mali’ata, worth less than dirt.” Athedil simply shook his head at the entire situation, before departing towards his home.

By order of Maheral Athedil Acal’elor, the individual known to us as Varen’thal Ilmoriel is henceforth deemed impure. He has broken our most sacred of laws, he killed a mali’thill, his fellow councilor Genevieve, and has now finally admitted that he did so knowingly, and that he furthermore did not regret his actions.

This man is not fit to sit on our council, he is not fit to walk amongst us, he is mali’ata, an individual lower than even the mix-breed and the warmonger. In an effort to ensure peace and order within our Silver City, I therefore call for his banishment and excommunication. Let no mali’thill speak to him, let no mali’thill trust him, let no mali’thill suffer his presence, for he has lost Larihei’s guidance and is no longer worth our time.

  14. Up in the Haelun’or winery, the Maheral equipped his mask, taking a moment to adjust it while admiring himself in the mirror. “I certainly hope people are ready for the ball, only a single elven hour left before it all gets started.”

  15. For the first time in about a week Athedil made his way down from the winery, after finding the letter in his mailbox. He made his way to the city square, in the hopes of finding a crowd that would listen.

“Tragedy has struck our city, lessers invaded and dealt a blow to our people. When life returned to Haelun’or, we wished for changed times, a step back towards the times of Asulon and the view on maehr’sae hiylun’ehya that lead our people to greatness. We wished to be able to live side by side with lessers, to interact with them for the betterment of all.
But it seems times are hard to change, even for those who wished to see it happen. In the time since Haelun’or’s revival, we have killed mali’thill in pits of acid, a crime never before committed by our council. We have named lessers who openly mocked purity to the position of tilruir, allowing them to taint our city from within. We have invited the chaos of those below us into the city, but taking part in their schemes and provoking them to attack. This is not our way, the lessers have shown time and time again that all but a few of them are unfit to be in our presence, they should be left to themselves to rot in the chaos of their own making. Let Haelun'or stand above the chaos, as the enduring bastion of science, order and purity it was always meant to be. Let the chaos of the lessers be their own, within our walls of silver only maehr'sae hiylun'ehya should reign, this was the wish of Larihei.

  16. Haelun'or Winery

“Now that the city has been rebuilt, and is coming back to life we are proud to present the Haelun’or Winery. Primarily a producer of wines for the city’s own consumption, to cater to the finer needs of the mali’thill.”

    H-sVU797oeifhyNYAcSXNH-98Oh9zvVzPqLRfnOo

    Grape varieties:
Valmuel’feta (Cold purple) - A deep purple grape, best known for its rich taste and distinct color. Valmuel’feta is mainly grown in colder mountainous terrain, preferring a harsher and thus relatively unchallenged environment to grow. It is an early grape, adapted to be fully grown before winter cold may set in. It is best doing temperate years, where the winter cold has left early, giving the grape a head start in maturing.

Len’tuveh (Soft song) - A clear green grape, generally known for its light and soft taste. Len’tuveh is a hard grape to grow, requiring a rich and fertile soil if not to produce small and sour grapes unsuitable to high class wines. The grape matures late during the summer, which only grows the longer you leave it on the vines. It prefers long summers, leaving it to sweeten for the longest possible period of time.

    Wines:
    Ambers:

Akal’suikaonn (Golden sweet): A sweet golden/amber wine, perfect for desserts or leisurely consumption. The wine is produced from the Len’tuveh grape, aged in jungle wood barrels to ensure a well rounded and soft finish to the wine’s taste.

    Reds:
Haelun’or miruel (Haelun’or red): A deep purple wine with a strong taste, best suited to be enjoyed alone or with roasted foods or rich meats. The wine is produced from the Valmuel’feta grape, aged in dark oak barrels to add to its rich taste.

Indorir miruel (Scholar red): A pale ruby colored wine, special for the fact that it is alcohol free, making it excellent for consumption during scholarly work. The wine is made from the Valmuel’feta grape, aged in regular oak barrels to best retain the rich taste of the grape after the removal of the alcohol.

    Whites:
Haelun’or ibar (Haelun’or white): A soft white wine of a pale yellow color, perfect for spicy cuisine, fish, and chicken. The wine is produced from the Len’tuveh grape, aged in birch barrels to added to the softness of the wine.

Maheral’s reserve: A white wine of a deep yellow color, the pride of the Haelun’or winery, if you have access to this wine you know how to drink it and what is suits best. To avoid rivals attempting to copy the wine, all information shall remain with the head vintner of the winery.

    Iatrilemar Elervathar,

I am honoured that your would accept me as a caretaker of a celestial, however, I have been forced to depart Haelun'or for an unknown period of time, and will thus be unable to properly administer the duty of looking after one of these beautiful creatures. I hope that you will understand, and that I am deeply saddened for the added administrative work I may have placed upon your shoulders.

    Athedil Haler'thilln

  19. Athedil stood with his hands gathered on his lower back, as he listened to Erendriel as he speaking. A brow raised, as the topic that was to be spoken of was made clear. "You speak words of truth Erendriel, but to blame the council for all our hardships would hardly be righteous. They are but three, two of which only recently ascended to their position. Surely you cannot blame them for straining under the burden suddenly left by Erinali’s death, and the departure of Icarus. Take a moment to consider things from their side.”

He walked to the front of those who had gathered to listen, so he might speak to them all.

I blame not Erendriel nor anyone else for the anger and frustration so many of us carry these days, I feel it as much as the rest of you, but I ask you, urge you even, to not raise a whip to the backs of our okariran when things go poorly, seek to understand and instead aid and support them to get our nation back on its feet. They are but Mali, just like any of us, when burdens weighs heavy on them they too might fall to despair and hopelessness, much like the citizenry. It is in these times they need our aid, so don’t complain, ask yourselves 'how I might helpful in overcoming the stagnate existence that has overtaken Haelun’or.'

Perhaps it is time to fill the council, to spread the burden of leadership on the strength of more than three. The council cannot do this for us, this task falls on us all, to take a moment to consider if we could aid in carrying the wright of leading our people, and if you believe yourselves able, to rise and let your voices be heard, and in time perhaps chosen as an okarir.

I know the prospect of leading might be frightening to many, the fear of failing is great, but see it as an experiment, our research is trial and error, rarely do we get it right at first, but we learn from our mistakes and try again."
