  1. I'm going to have to ask how the heck you found my app. It was buried under a week and a half of other ones. Unless... you were searching for the term "sexy dwarf" on the forum, weren't you! Praytell, is "promote" a fancy way of saying "approve"? Also, consider yourself reminded. Whatever the case, I am eager for some promotions. P.S. Looking forward to that new map! Is there a sneak peak anywhere?
  2. Happy Birthday!

  3. Just posting to bump this back up, as I'm pretty sure it got skipped over, and it's been ~3 days. Thanks for your hard work on the rest of the apps, Mods, and hope to hear from y'all soon!
  4. Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: Solifuge -How old are you?: 24 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Midwestern USA -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: That I do! I've studied it, and written a good deal of stories and essays and so on. I'm still waiting on being published, though! -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a self-styled jack of all trades, dabbling in artwork, music, writing, and various fields of academic study. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Biology and Anthropology, have aspirations to write and teach some day, and though I tend to be absent-minded fancy myself pretty smart. I'm also a good cook, rather witty, exceedingly good-looking, and most of all am terribly modest. Equally relevant, I have a runty pet cat named Freyja, for the Norse goddess of love, valor, death, and absurdly flying cat-drawn chariots. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I work 2 jobs, and am a student. I'll be active on Weekends, but weekdays will be busy. I'd estimate a good 4-8 hours or so, depending on my schedule. -How long have you played minecraft?: Since we only had dirt, rock, wood, and cobble. I corresponded with Notch and submitted terrain pixel art to him before Minecraft was a thing you could buy. I was here before it was cool. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I've played and run a number of different Tabletop RPGs (Dungeons and Dragons and the like) since I was a kid, have portrayed characters in online MMOs like Neverwinter Nights, and even dabbled with some text-based MUDs. I'm fairly old-school. -What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I see, pretty neat! I try not to judge before I see what something is first-hand, but I expect it to be a fun diversion, and something I'd like to contribute to. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Nations at War; I'm not yet severing ties with them, but key developers have abandoned the project in a buggy state, their mod team has been continually disorganized and unhelpful, and despite their promises of warfare, trade, and diplomacy, it's become little more than a build server with plot ownership... and a mostly abandoned build server at that. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I've read and agree to the rules. I've gone through some of the lore regarding the races and nations, and gotten a feel for it through some reading on game-mechanics. -Name the 4 races on this server: Not including the special races? Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, and... damn, what was the last one called? H-something... was it Halflings? -How did you hear about us?: A buddy of mine linked the Youtube Trailer, and suggested it as an alternative to Nations at War, which we were both growing rather displeased with. -Did you vote?: I'm sorry, but I couldn't do so without personally knowing what the Server was really like. The honest answer would have been clicking the "I was asked/forced to come here" box, though I wouldn't do that to you guys either. On my honor as a citizen of the internet, I'll vote once I see the place and like it! -What was your favourite Law?: I'm fond of no senseless destruction of the landscape, and no graffiti or vandalism. I like servers that have a unified feel to them, and this ought to help keep that. -What was your least favourite Law?: Here are a handful I'm less fond of: 1. I don't like RP limiters on PvP; not because I encourage murder-sprees, but because flexible limiters like that will cause people to get angry, and debate whether or not an attack was RP-appropriate to Mods, whether they should be reimbursed, and so on. It leaves a lot of grey area, with a lot of room for hard feelings to grow between less mature players. It's better to allow it universally, or strike it from the server, so people know what to expect. 2. I don't like imposing a 30-minute wait after death during War. Again, as self-imposed it leaves a good bit of grey area for less mature players to try and bend the rules to their advantage. Also, though I can see why it's done, I've never been fond of games that impose a wait time, especially half an hour... I wait enough in my daily life that I don't want to do it in a game too! 3. I'm not fond of the red tape of Resource-Collecting Permits... though I take it this doesn't apply to the wilderness? If not, it seems like a lot of Bureaucracy getting in the way of the whole point of Minecraft. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? Solifuge. In-Character: -Character Name: Farley Oakheart -What is your Race?: Forest Dwarf -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Solifuge -Biography: Born of an unknown father and a Forest Dwarf mother, Farley was raised among the treetop villages of the Elves. Growing up among the tall-folk, he not only recognized his differences, but reveled in them. When the Elves advised calm consideration, he made decisions guided by his passions. When advised patience in his studies under tradesmen and scholars, he threw himself into them with gusto. When cautioned against taking certain risks, he took chances and flaunted danger when he could. Rebellious youth that he was, he still conceded to the wisdom of the Druids, and the stern guidance of his mother. Even so, it didn't take long for his peers to mock young Farley for his strangeness, while his exasperated elders came to his mother in hopes that she could reign him in. At the age of 16, this all came to a head when Farley had gotten into a spat with a nemesis of his, an older highborn son of the Elves, which quickly became a fight. They exchanged blows, Farley earning a bloody scar over his right eye from the Lordling's blade, before the Elf's sword arm was horribly crushed by the stout branch Farley wielded against him. After realizing what he'd done, and fearing retribution from the young lord's house, Farley fled from his home and into the woods without a word to anyone. Since those days Farley has traveled widely, wandering the roads with traders, apprenticing himself to carpenters and shipwrights in port towns, fishing aboard sailing vessels, and most recently taking on with a band of smugglers masquerading as merchants. Having recently left the Smuggler's trade, he has yet to find a place to settle. -Character Age: 30, still a child by Dwarven standards. -Character Appearance: Farley is light of skin, with a scruffy copper beard, thick side-whiskers below his ears, short-cropped hair, and stormy blue-grey eyes. His build is broad and compact and his hands rough, speaking of a life of hard labor. He bears no visible tattoos, though his right eye is marked with a straight pink scar. -Character Personality: Passionate, brash, and reckless. Time has taught him to be more patient and kindly, but his heart and pride can lead him to quick judgement, and anger. -Your ambitions: Find his fortune and find a place to belong, while avoiding the vengeance of the Elven Lord he'd wronged. -Can your character read or write?: He's learned in letters, charts, and cartography, and some history from various Elven tutors. -Can your character mine?: Surprisingly little for a Dwarf. -Are you a capable builder? Farley worked for some years as a craftsman, carpenter, and then shipwright, before taking on with sailors. -Can you wield a sword?: He's a decent hand at knives and light blades, but far better-suited to the hatchet and woodcutter's axe. -Enjoy Farming?: Not really, though he is a novice of herbalism and nature-lore from his time with the Elves. -Does your character have any special skills?: Having studied under Elven Scholars for most of his childhood, he's uncommonly learned for a Dwarf. He is trained in the lore and traditions of the Elven Druids, studied enough in astronomy to navigate by the stars, experienced in trades related to woodcutting and carpentry, a decent ranger and fisher, and knowledgeable in the art of sailing and map-making. -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information: Potential character hooks: 1. The Elf Lord whom Farley wounded could learn of him, and seek revenge. 2. A lead regarding his Father could end up somewhere unexpected. 3. His time with Smugglers could have left a chip on his shoulder, or a temptation to go back. 4. His mother was left behind. What happened to her?
