Decided to give this a shot. Figured to give my Deckard Cain/Sean Connery-like voice  https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Public/LoTC.mp3?w=db4d9f9e&dl=1

I think the intent of a Villain app is so that a character can individually commit crimes and the like in RP. This way their actions are monitored, regulated, and kept to a minimum so that the ebb and flow of RP isn't disrupted. Too many players from what I've heard want to be villains just to break things and steal stuff, rather then create story plots. As for the Undead Army, it is a guild. And I do not believe there is anything against guilds fighting guilds or even cities. War isn't inherently evil (in terms of the server and its RP, not speaking of actual morality, so I'm making no RL references) and when they attack, its for 'political' reasons.

Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: Taemien -How old are you?: 28 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern Time (-5 GMT), United States -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: My college instructors seem to think so. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Spent four years in the US Army in Satcom. Now currently working on an Information Technology degree at the local college. I enjoy table-top RPGs, MMOs, and other online games. Offline I play paintball, sometimes golf, and every so often I get a Wii craving (if you haven't tried the bowling game with Wii Resort, you're missing out). -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Varies though I would say between 10 and 20 hours. Have to take time off on Mondays as that is the day I usually set aside to play tabletop RPGs with friends. -How long have you played MineCraft?: A few days in all honesty. I do have experience with Terraria which is a 2d builder sandbox game. So I know the ins and outs, as well as do's and don'ts of playing on a server with others. Rule of thumb, if it isn't mine, don't mess with it. -What do you know about Roleplaying? What is it?: Role-playing the way I see it is a team oriented means of story telling and acting. I say team oriented because even when you have heroes and villains, the players need to come together as a team. There is no 'winners' and 'losers'. If RP happens, a story is made, plot lines created, and both sides are immersed, everyone wins. If RP grinds to a standstill because one side is OOCly trying to get the upper hand, everyone loses. Individually everyone does their part by getting immersed into the roles of their character. Playing within the stage that is made of the world the character resides in. And the player using their imagination to help give the character a life of its own. I've personally played a myriad of MMO's (EQ, EQ2, WoW, AoC, RIFT, and Role-played in all of them. I've also played quite a few Table Top RPGs including D&D (all editions, including the one with THAC0), d20 Modern, Mouse Guard, and BattleTech: A Time of War. With the exception of Mouse Guard, I've Game Mastered all of those. I'm blessed to have a current Role-playing group that fancies RP over game mechanics and power gaming. If you've played with random groups, you'd know how hard it is to find such a group. -What do you expect this server will be like?: If you've played on a RP server on any MMO, you will know that RP enforcement is... well to be blunt, non-existent. From what I've read about the rules, and what friends have already experienced, the amount of non-RP interruptions will be kept to a minimum. I expect my experience to be a positive one, this server looks absolutely beautiful from what I've seen as a wandering soul. I'd love to be able to interact with others while adding in my own experience by sharing it with other Role-players. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Nothing more then a friend showing me the basics of MineCraft. As for MMOs, if it has a RP server, I've probably played it. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: As we say in the Army, Hoo-Ah (Heard, Understood, Acknowledged) :) Not only do I agree to the rules, but I fully support them. One of my pet peeves in Terraria was sloppy building and excavation. Overtime the landscape would just look horrible. From what I've seen in Lord of the Craft, this isn't an issue. As I said before, it looks outstanding and I intend to help keep it that way. -Name the 4 races on this server: Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, and Humans. About 3 subraces for each, as well as some Ascended and Undead. -How did you hear about us?: A good friend of mine, and excellent Role-player (Chrix), started on this server a little while ago. He's had nothing but good things to say. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Taemien In-Character: -Character Name: His name is Rhichard, hailing from a family of craftsmen known as the Sterlingtons. -What is your Race?: A proud human of Oren -Biography: Rhichard Sterlington, or Rick as known by close friends and relatives, grew up in a small but well to do town outside the city of Al'Kahazar. His mother was Marcy, a seamstress and his father Lance the Smith. In his early adolescence Rhichard became an apprentice to his father. During his apprenticeship he learned to make tools like picks, hammers, and axes. He also learned to make weapons such as swords. While apprenticed to his father, Rhichard met a dwarven adventurer named Tarmul. Tarmul had stopped by for a few tools and noticed that Rhichard was quenching a sword he had just forged, "Ye know how to use that, lad?" Tarmul could really only shake his head. "Bah, how cannae make something ye don't even know how to wield?" After Rhichard finished the sword, the dwarf beckoned him to come with him, telling him to bring the sword (that he in fact was there to buy). It was then how Rhichard got his first lesson in swordplay. Over the next few years, Tarmul would return to the shop for more tools and each time he would give Rhichard a few more lessons. Rhichard developed a good friendship with the adventurous dwarf. Even though it took a bit of time away from his work, Rhichard's father and master did not mind the diversion. Though this was probably due to the patronage of Tarmul to the smithy. The lessons went on for the rest of his apprenticeship and even after he rose to a journeyman. During Tarmul's visits, Rhichard received more then just lessons in swordplay, but also stories of the world around Al'Khazar. The dwarf told of grand expanses of forests and mountains. Of ruins and riches to be found for those clever enough to find them. Of both monsters and bandits he had put to the axe. These tales excited Rhichard even more then the lessons. As he grew into adulthood, Rhichard knew what he wanted to do. He had the knowledge and practice needed to see the world in Tarmul's stories. But even more importantly, he would see places that would set the stages for his own stories about his own adventures. But that wasn't enough for Rhichard. He wanted to stake his own claim in that untamed wild. To pioneer the wild and help build a lasting settlement. He spoke to his mother and father about his plans. It was nothing new to Lance and Marcy. They had already heard his desires over the dinner table. But this time they took it to heart, for Rhichard was grown and ready to strike out on his own. His father was proud that his son would do well with his trade, though his mother was worried for his adventures would take him into dangerous lands. Rhichard continues as a journeyman smith, but is also working on other projects to help fund his first adventure. He is now looking for work as either a laborer, builder, or even bodyguard if the pay is good enough. Eventually he seeks to help a settlement grow, using his skills as a blacksmith to help, as well as his ability with a sword to help defend it. -Character Age: Rhichard is 20 years old. A Journeyman Blacksmith, and a practiced swordsman. Ready for adventure and exploration. -Character Appearance: Athletic build and slightly above average height, standing at around 6 feet tall. He has fair skin, black hair, and blue eyes. -Character Personality: Rhichard is a pleasant fellow to be around. Optimistic and motivated, he can be an asset when times turn sour. Or a perhaps a liability in a dangerous situation. -Your ambitions: Rhichard wants to see the world and help build a new settlement in unexplored lands. He can be reckless, but not so foolhardy to think such a venture would not be without danger. Therefor he is prepared with his knowledge of the sword to help defend himself and others if needed. Well... prepared as much as he believes. Everyone starts somewhere. His dream is to help settle and establish a grand settlement some day, maybe even leaving his name behind in a grand legacy. -Can your character read or write?: Rhichard can read and write well enough. But.. leave the thesis to the scholars, and spellbooks to the wizards. Though such might look nice on a bookshelf somewhere. -Can your character mine?: Take a pickaxe and hack away. How hard could it be? (You might want to ask a dwarf instead, at least if you care about time and efficiency) -Are you a capable builder?: Rhichard's got a good imagination, and with practice, he just might be able to put his thoughts into construction. Practice will eventually make perfect. Though if you're asking for a sword, axe, or some other tool. Rhichard's your man for the job, and will only get better in time. -Can you wield a sword?: Why would you ever make a tool that you don't know how to use? Weapons are tools for a job just like any hammer. To know how to make a great sword is to know how a sword works. Rhichard might not be a world class swordsman (yet), but there is definitely more appealing prey out there for bandits then he. At least thats what he might say. -Enjoy Farming?: Perhaps as a hobby. Rhichard's not a green thumb. Prefers to hunt if possible if food cannot be bought. -Does your character have any special skills?: In his own mind he can talk or fight out of any situation. So... nope, nothing special. Ok maybe he's likable, but that is up to the eye of the beholder. -A screenshot of your skin: -Other Information: One feeling that I can say blends OOC and IC, is the idea of exploration. I've seen only the tip of the iceberg and cannot wait to actually explore the world a bit. The idea of doing so while Role-playing is just going to be icing on the cake. While I am relatively new to MineCraft, I am a quick learner and I am willing to adapt. I hope to use this inexperience as a little tool for little plots and hooks. Something as simple as my character trying to plant something, and having to ask another, "how do I go about doing this?" In my days of table-top RP, something as small as that has turned simple throw away NPCs into members of the party and eventually major story hooks. Just never know where the story will lead and that's where all the fun is. In fact I think the learning process gives me an advantage that normal experienced players don't have. I get to learn where they may have missed the opportunity already. -
