A somber man, so-called the Prince of Bastards lounged upon his driftwood throne, clad in in comparatively ancient ashford plate, forged some 70 years before him by one of the late great blacksmiths of the bygone era. His near decade on Tahn had worn on him. In spite of his usual carelessness, his eyes were deeply bagged and his scalp bore gray hairs already. The mask of mercy did not suit Guildenstern, nor had he thought would it ever.

He tossed a letter, tentatively penned by the Rutherns and intercepted on the way to New Metz (aka Saltpans), across his long table so that his compatriots might see it.

“The Norf seeks tu shed de established influence uf Courland from dere ‘omes. Where du we stand, Gentlemun?”

His uncle was the first to speak. “Forget not the Duke’s war, nephew. Forget not whom it was that slew the new emperor and saw the younger brother enthroned."

    "Your father would remember.”

“Am I moi faver, Reynauld?” Spat Guild, his dull brown eyes were as unintelligible as ever.

“No.” Conceded Reynauld de Savoie at once, decidedly disappointed with the boy.

“We know that Staunton would have sought to destabilize young Hughes’ throne had he not reached such a speedy peace with his cousin.” Offered Gestalt. “Perhaps it is true he sought to police us, captain.”

Guild planted his chin in his upturned palm, scowling sourly over the table. “So… Long past wrongdoings versus a perceived sloight. We must choose which tu look disfavorably upon.”

Samuel kicked his feet up on the table, just then. “We was mercenaries at some point, wasn’t we?” He asked no one in particular, picking at his nails with a rusty knife.

A round of aye’s and agreeable grunts made its way around the table.

“Then why not then see which one sends us an offer first?”  Grinned Sammy.

  2. Make the language of your rules clear and quantifiable so that warclaims can no longer be stalled for weeks over misinterpretation and syntax

edit: oh and don't forget to list all unlisted """common sense""" slash stuff based on """precedent""" because otherwise there's no reliable way to keep track of all that stuff for little old players like me

SECTION VII - ADDRESSING THE LOTHARINGIAN REVOLT

    1. In the recent Saint’s Month, the Savoyard band owing its loyalties to the upstart Hughes d’Amaury is hereby condemned by the Church. A direct act of revolt against the divine authority of Otto, the rebels are looked on with scorn by the Pontiff and the clergy.

Guild takes a clipping of the paper and tapes it to his wall of accomplishments, along with his boy scout badges.

  5. Well Tom I've got this blood claim to the blackwald (not to mention revenge for the assassinations and massacre) and I'm looking to use it to cause a bit of a ruckus, you know, burn down a handful of buildings and generally make life difficult for anyone trying to build the empire back up on the bones of old savoy

Change the date - I said a week ago that there would be no warclaims this weekend

-teegah, on the week of april 11

And the 2x warclaims last week meant that this one could not be posted. A siege delayed two weeks due to 1.8 updates and the server's technical inability to handle more than 1-2 wc's a week isn't enough to scheduled a re-skirm, I would argue.

As for the dead man and his request, you know what they say: find something you love doing and you'll never work a day in your life.

  7. I mean you can repeat that all you want it won't make it true.

The only way I could've lost CB is if I was a vassal under one of the factions that peaced out.

(un)Fortunately chaos is a separate faction entirely, whoose terms for peace have not yet been fulfilled. Thus the show must go on

    THE SACK OF DARKWOOD

The war camp had grown more and more quiet as of late. Where as before the skirmish a legion of men had gathered to champion the cause of justice, now there were left only a handful of stoic regiments.

Over the flapping of tents and the whistle of the wind, a single priest could be heard, preaching fire and brimstone. “Yea, for there yet be faithful, and they are named soldiers. And the village giveth way to the citadel and men are ungoverned...”

Guildenstern sat in his tent, brooding over rumors and reports. His allies all seemed to be signing themselves out of his war, one by one, having named their prices and received lump sum from the enemy. All that, and yet he saw all the kings allied with him sign treaties and then die shortly thereafter. So then, Guild concluded that this meant he must wage war in order to live.
