Ren1010 In-Character: -Character Name: Marla Gresham -What is your Race?: Human -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Ren1010 -Biography: I was born in the slums of Oren to Joyce and Kenneth Gresham. We were a poor family who only made enough money to feed ourselves. We were this way all throughout my childhood. I was always a good child and was very gracious for what we did have. I never took anything for granted, however I always longed to go to school. One spring morning when I was 11, my father went on a quest into the mines of Kal’Urguan with some Dwarves. He had been looking for work in the city, when a band of Dwarves offered him a chance of a lifetime. They were planning to venture into the mines to look for gold but they were one member short. They pitched a proposal that he could not refuse- to go into the mines and whatever they found they would split equally. Now a few blocks of gold were more than enough to provide for our family- so he accepted without much hesitation. The only problem was that he had to provide his own armor and weapons. So he took all of our money that we had and bought a set of low grade armor and a stone sword. At the time it seemed a good idea because soon we would have enough gold to change our life forever. Several months had gone by and there was no sign of my father. After a year had passed, my mother decided to re-marry to a man named Michel McDowen. He appeared to be a decent man. But looks deceive. After a while he became very abusive toward my mother and after she passed on, he quickly turned to me. I had put up with his abuse for long enough, so on a clear autumn night, I snuck out of the house and ran toward the Grand City of Alras. I had never ventured out of Oren, however my father had told me stories of great worriers that have come out of Alras. And it was also the home of the Dwarves that he went on his journey with. Once I arrived in Alras, I unintentionally hid from the rain in the wealthy elderly woman, Lady Elena Ferguson’s home. And, after talking with me, she agreed to make me her apprentice, and because she was a scribe, she taught me how to read and write and also taught the Dwarven language. She also provided me with free housing until I got a job and was able to pay rent. She was a wonderful woman, though she had no children of her own. And from the age of 13, she treated me as her own daughter, and when she passed a month after my 17th birthday, she gave me part of her land and enough money to provide for myself. This woman has been a tremendous influence on my life and I will never forget her. After her death, I came to terms with reality and vowed to make a decent living for myself to make her proud. While I was there, I was also going to try and find as much information about my father’s disappearance as I possibly could. To this day, I do not know what ever became of my father, and have never had any inquiries about my stepfather. For the passed 2 years I have slowly been gathering information about my father, and one day I hope to discover the truth. -Character Age: 19 -Character Appearance: medium toned skin, long chestnut hair , muscular build. Height: 5 foot 3 and ½. -Character Personality: mild tempered, however I do have a “back-bone”. I will always defend myself and those I love. I am a lover and not a fighter. I would much rather be working behind the scenes than to be on the front line. -Your ambitions: to find enough information to one day go looking for my father.
