Back in Aegis I had found LOTC by googling minecraft roleplay

    - and then I joined in Aegis, not having actually read any of the lore at all. The first character I ever met was Deltaro Black (KarmaDelta) on the noticeboard in Laurelin. I joined the White Ravens originally, then the Mages Guild, and after my character had learned some basic magic he joined the duo of Vor'Kalan (Swgrclan) and Sheekah (Slic3man). We caused trouble here and there, killed a number of people, and while I was busy with that I met Elnir and Rilath (ShadowGunX) who taught my character Shade magic. Not long after that I joined the Dark Brotherood, arguably the most enjoyable guild I have ever been in on any game/platform, and whilst involved with that group I created my first golem with Arbrek Starbreaker (zac20169) - Raiga (originally named Diablo, played by Cookie9000)

There are many important people I didn't mention above because they were mainly friends of mine, they didn't advance Sala's story all that much. For the sake of it I'll mention a few of them here (Restricting the list to mainly Aegis)

I inducted you fam, never forget that.

I started your transformation from sitting atop the Laurelin Billboard while welcoming you.

I wish for a full 20 pages in complete detail of our early love before you move onto your madness.

    It's due tomorrow.

    You're in the Autobiography too.

    That'll have to do.

Where is the history regarding our neato-evil demon guild clan in Aegis, Salamandra? I see no mention of our neato-evil demon guild clan here. Shame on you.

It's in the Autobiography that isn't done, but I got that part finished at least.

Despite (non)common belief, Nax'Ram and Sheekah were not the most important pieces of Sala's life!

    Salamandra

    Basic Information

    Nicknames: Sala, Salad, Salam, Salamandalaldada

    Age: Approx. 1200

    Gender: Male

    Race: Elf/Unknown

    Status: Living/Undead/Magical Creature

    Description

    Height: 7’3

    Weight: 205 lbs.

    Body Type: Barely fit.

Eyes: Two different shades of blue intermingled curiously in glowing fashion.

Hair: Black, although it was brown when he re-appeared in Aegis. It is suggested this is a side-effect of Shade magic somehow.

    Skin: Slightly tanned.

Markings/Tattoos: A small, barely visible scar beneath his left eye. It is assumed he covers something beneath the hair he casts over the right side of his face, but it is not known what.

Health: Alive. He is hung somewhere within the balance of being a lich and a living person, more so the former.

Personality: Reserved, calculated, dull, impassive. After returning from death as a lich through methods unknown, the man is a shadow of his former self: as if any happiness he once held has been stripped of him.

Inventory: His greatstaff which stands almost as tall as he, and a myriad of unknown items he has stored within his sleeves.

Further Details: It is assumed the man awaits the return of his wife Trinity, but after nearly a hundred years he has subconsciously accepted she will never return, despite what he may otherwise say on the topic about being hopeful for her re-appearance. This would explain his depression-like state, but as would his age, and possibly a number of other factors.

    Life Style

    Alignment: Neutral

    Deity: Akilith (Daemon of Prayer)

    Religion: None

Flaw(s): He fails to make emotional connections with people. He recognizes almost all of his best friends have died and if he makes more friends the same will only happen, in this way he fails at making new friendships. He is alone, but he almost prefers it that way. He is also very old, and his mind is strange in its way of thinking.

    Current Status: Active

    Arch-type: Arcane

    History

Salamandra had been present in Aegis since the year 352, although he has never released any writings or spoken in detail of those times. It is known that he is currently writing his autobiography, but he is quoted stating: “...it is far from completion.”

In Aegis he was inducted into the Mages Guild as an apprentice where he began learning Earth Evocation. Some time after this he left the guild and began learning Shade magic, joined the Dark Brotherhood, and created a name for himself as the villain Regaki: The man who wears the golden-skull mask. His rise to power was great and terrible, leading to the deaths of many, and in his prime the man was never defeated in single-combat. This age for Regaki came to an abrupt end when he was physically split from his body in a situation involving a void node, and Salamandra was left behind within it. Salamandra and Regaki became two separate entities: one good (Blue), the other evil (Red), locked within the same body in a frantic battle for control.

It is Salamandra who won the original altercation and he speaks of Regaki as a demon who plagues him every waking moment, desperate to break free. In the past, few managed to make Salamandra so angry he would lose control and Regaki would proclaim his freedom. At present Regaki appears dormant, but there will no doubt come a day when one will earn his wrath.

Although Salamandra was influential in multiple magical affairs such as the founding of electrical evocation and modern Golemancy, in recent years there is nothing notable he has done. His one trademark is the ability to seemingly pull an innumerable amount of items into and out of his sleeves, which he has done since before the discovery of Void Translocation, so that theory has been debunked. Salamandra currently resides in the Tower of Ire off the coast of Haelun’or.

    1. To preserve and promote a friendly and cooperative environment for everyone, to ensure people feel safe and comfortable within the community.

You're well known for being extremely hostile to anyone who remotely disagrees with you, amongst other things. I can with all honesty say that I feel anything but safe and comfortable with you, knowing you'll resort to underhanded OOC tactics to have your way.

    2. To continue to encourage and endorse roleplay that is enjoyable by as many players as possible.

You admittedly break character to screw people over for OOC reasons. Your RP is in function of your OOC benefit, that's no secret.

    3. To be transparent, and forthcoming with our intentions and development, while considering the input of the community.

    You are a huge hypocrite.

    4. To remember we are volunteers, we made the choice to step up as leaders of the community, we’re not here for personal gain.

Personal gain is what you revolve around.

These can also be applied to the Player's section of the mission statement, which is basically a bit of the same.

PD: I'd like to remind you that this thread is about him, not me.

Essentially everything summed up in Whimsy's post is everything I've ever heard about Leo, despite never really interacting with him. I'm sure many of the people who believe these things won't bother to comment or say anything because they're afraid of the Laureh'lin community bashing them, which sky has just proved will happen. Leo should respond solely himself, not have his followers do it for him.

I've already declared my bias: having little to no interaction with Leo and having only heard bad things about him, and though as a member of the community I might have the "right" to +1 or -1, as person I won't do that. Whimsy bothered to put more detail in the post than most of the people supporting Leo: "He's good." Or "He's mature. +1"

I wish you luck if you make it, and hope you aren't the person the many rumors say you are.

    MC Name: Salamandra

    IC Name: Salamandra

Original Race [n/a if not applicable]: Elf/Unknown

    Transformed Form: Spectre

Creator [mc name and ic name, n/a if not applicable]: N/A

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: I couldn’t find the original post, it has either been hidden or deleted. This is what is on the wiki:

During his life Salamandra performed Shade Magic bodyswaps frequently, to an unprecedented level. He pushed beyond what any shade had done previously. His spirit became very unattached to physical bodies. These shade rituals have since been lost to time, but the effect on Salamandra's spirit was strong. After the lich ritual it has become so accustomed to existing without a body, so damaged by it, that it cannot pass on to the afterlife, ever. Without a body it simply dissipates into tormented energy, slowly draining away into the void and oblivion. It cannot become a ghost, it cannot pass on. While the monks are able to save Salamandra while he remains in his body, were he to actually die, there is no afterlife for him. To achieve immortality in spirit, he must achieve it in body.

The spectre of Salamandra is not Salamandra. It is the ghost of one of the poor souls he bodyswapped into, forcefully imprinted with Salamandra's mind over its own.

A crazed mage or possibly a crazed alchemist could, were they to become obsessed with either bringing back Salamandra (perhaps for his Shade Magic) or simply with resurrecting a ghost, captures the spectre of Salamandra using deceived clerics or fancy medieval mad scientist ghostbusters kit. They prepare a body with an arcaurum core in it, which is either a recently dead normal body or a Frankenstein body. Their plan is to trap the ghost inside to make a sort of flesh golem thing. When they try it, however, it all goes wrong. At first nothing happens. They force the ghost into the core and it doesn't animate anything (they don't know much about golemancy, after all.) However, the sheer trauma combined with all the magical energy and lightning conductors (got to have lightning conductors!) causes the spectre to reject the false Salamandra mind. Then weird stuff happens.

All this magic flying around makes reality unstable. The spectre provides the framework of Salamandra's consciousness, it's pretty much the same mind, after all. The tortured lich energy that is the real Salamandra, which has been spreading through the atmosphere since his death in Salvus, is drawn in, creating a huge magical storm above the building this is going on in. The spectre is destroyed, the room is destroyed, the failed flesh golem is destroyed. When the smoke clears, Salamandra's soul, reunited with his mind, stands in the room, in the body of the failed flesh golem, which is now very much alive.

This means Salamandra is returned, in a body almost identical to his old. That body has a golem core fused into its chest, although the core does not do anything unless he is Permakilled. It is visible when he is shirtless though. He is not fully resurrected, some of his being has drained away into the void while he was dead. This manifests as a loss of all his magical abilities and training.

Comments: Salamandra is not a Spectre, but I feel the Spectre’s perks accurately represent Salamandra’s condition (it’s the closest of any of the races’ perks).

    Racial Perks:

    • No Hunger

    • Poison Immunity

    • Immune to Drowning

    • 50% Damage resistance

    • Attacks do Magic Damage

    • Vulnerable to Gold and Light Magic

    • Can’t wear armor

    1. He never has to eat. His body is very similar to a lich’s, but still retains flesh and organs that are preserved, although not often used (excluding his eyes, brain, and lungs when speaking which he has to breathe in specifically for).

    2. Poison immunity, as poison acts through the bloodstream which doesn’t directly affect him, as he has no blood. His body is fueled purely by his mana through the modified golem-core, which has multiple downsides. Although he never directly feels fatigue or tired, his body begins to shut down as his mana begins to run out. He finds himself unable to move when extremely tired, and his mana pool lessens during great physical activity as if he were casting a spell. Both physical and magical actions are fueled by his mana, causing him to get tired very quickly if he ever has to do both at once.

    3. Immune to Drowning. He doesn’t use his lungs except when speaking, getting water in his body will not kill him, and he’ll likely puke the water up later.

    4. 50% damage resistance. Salamandra no longer feels pain as all other mortals do, rather he notices it but it is not actually painful.

    5. Attacks do magic damage. He is a mage!

    6. Vulnerable to gold and light magic. Being vulnerable to gold is fine, we can say its slight magical properties conflict with his strange body. It almost acts as a double-negative or he is extra vulnerable to gold weaponry. Normal weaponry will cut and pierce him the same as any other person, but he will not bleed, rather, his mana will pour out of the wounds (which will kill him every quickly if not patched). Perhaps gold weaponry causes his body to freak out in other ways (exploding eyeball, uncontrollable limbs, etc). Vulnerable to light magic idk who cares!

    7. Cannot wear armor. Salamandra cannot wear armor anyway; it would tire him out too greatly for it to be worth it.

Magics you can teach: ((None OOC, no teaching applications))

Who have been your teachers presently or in the past, and what did they teach you?: Ambros was my only teacher of any Arcane magic, though never directly. When I was a Shade, Rilath was the one who raised Regaki.

Which position do you feel most suited for?: Any to which I am deemed worthy. I will happily be placed wherever Ambros puts me, including outside of the Order.

  9. MC name: Salamandra

Character's name and age: Salamandra 1185

    Character’s Race: Elf/Unknown

Link to your accepted magic application: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/137812-golemancy-ma-salamandra-self-taught/

What magics do you desire to teach?: Golemancy

Summarize the Lore of this Magic:

Golemancy is an art-form created by the Dwarves of Old, that through the participation of two (under normal circumstances) individuals, a skilled Golem-Smith and a skilled Core-Crafter, will produce a golem. Golems are magical constructs that have their bodies (usually made of stone) and minds powered by either a Soul-bound or Thanhium core. Soulbound golems (prevalent mainly in Aegis) required the sacrifice (or PK) of a character, whose soul would then be trapped in the core and through a few runic “enchantments”, would power the body and consciousness of the golem. The golem would not have any memories of their past at this time.

Thanhium core golems were discovered more recently, and do not require any living sacrifice to create. Salamandra doesn’t know much about Thanhium cores, only that a Thanhium crystal is housed within an arcaurum cube.

Golems act almost like large children, they take every word seriously and do as their Impera orders them, thusly the words spoken to a golem should be chosen precisely. The Impera is the “Master” of the golem, the person who gives it commands that the golem can’t refuse.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding):

The loud rapping of knuckles would be heard as the man’s fist made contact with the wooden door. He heard a muffled voice yell in reply “Coming!”, and heard the shuffling of footsteps, yet the door remain closed. He knocked again, louder this time and repeated said action until the door had been opened, and Ac’Aelu stood in the doorway. “Rude of you to make a guest wait.” he grumbled, lowering his head and stooping his shoulders to fit inside the doorframe. Ac’Aelu would frown a bit, “Sorry, I didn’t hear you since I was in my room. That was Dwyn who responded.” The elf didn’t seem to care for the reply, and moved deeper into the home, settling himself near a table.

“I have brought for you a representation of what a golem core will look like.” he says, removing a large, rounded cube from his sleeve and setting it on the table. “This object is made purely from gold though the actual thing will be made of Magegold, or as the ‘hip’ mages call it, Arcaurum.” he grunts, removing what appears to be some sort of odd chisel from the same sleeve which he took the cube. “Luckily for you I have much gold to spare thanks to my recent doings, and I’m sure you will have to practice this process multiple times until I am pleased with your outcome. Our agreement was I would teach you how to create a golem, or at least, one half of the Golemancy process.” the elf nods. “I will be showing you how to make the core of a Soulbound golem, for that is what I far surpassed others in. I have little experience or interest in learning about Thanhium cores, though if you could create a golem without taking a life, I would recommend it.”

“As I hope you would know, mana is created within all the mortal races, and most living things.” he begins to explain, taking the almost dagger-like chisel and beginning to carve into the face of the golden object. “Although someone might never become a mage or have to use their mana, it will always remain within their body, and their soul creates it. This soul is what will power the golem’s body and consciousness, but also restricts how large a golem can be made. These ruinic markings I carve into the core will split the mana usage of the soul to the different parts of the body, and the mind.” he finishes, dropping the utensil and holding up the model core for Aelu to see. “Any questions?” he asks irritably, clearly not wanting to be asked any. Aelu remains silent. “Good.” he comments, pulling another golden object from his sleeve. “Your turn now, just keep mine beside the one you’re working on and try to match the symbols.”

  10. MC name: Salamandra

Character's name and age: Salamandra 1185

    Character’s Race: Elf/Unknown

What magic/s did you learn?: Golemancy

Who/how did you learn magic/s?: I learned Golemancy in Aegis while experimenting with Arbrek Starbreaker. I used it through Elysium but never bothered to make a golemancy MA after that.

Offer an explanation of said magic/s you learned: Creating golems, construct creatures that require both a body and a core that are normally made by two separate entities that work together to make a quality finished product.

Comments: I'm making this only because I want to teach someone how to make a working golem (either the smithing or the core). If this is accepted I had planned to make a teacher application right afterward seeing as I have made multiple golems in the past.

  11. Name: Athe'lor

    ((MCName)): Salamandra

Origin (Previous citizens should include how long they’ve resided in Haelun’or): I resided in Haelun'or while the mortal races were in Athera and served as Okarir'leyun for a couple years. I constructed mainly housing and walls.

How can you declare that you are Mali'thill: I was accepted as a citizen of Haelun'or after completing the proper trials, and then given a council position. Neither Sohaer Kalameet or Kalenz verbally declared any problems with my citizenship in the times I spoke with them.

Why do you wish to become a citizen of Haelun’or (Previous citizens may skip this question):

What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you: Progress and Health. One should benefit the Mali'aheral and Haelun'or as a whole with their actions; an individual should keep his/her health, and that of other Mali'aheral amongst the highest of priorities, choosing to only mate with other pure elves. This is a basic understanding of the phrase.

How familiar are you with the Elven language? (These sources are available to help): Familiar enough.

What is the subject of the first book you will submit to the college? (If you’ve already submitted books, what was the most recent one): I am unsure what the most recent book I submitted to the college was, but I believe it was my series of short linguistic chapters meant to teach others the basics of other languages including: Mori'Quessir, Cervitaur, Kharajyr, and Uruk (there was also a chapter on Elven).

Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the council: Further details can be discussed if called upon to do so.
