  1. Good afternoon, everyone!

This is just a post to ask a simple question — what from Lord of the Craft do you think would make a great addition to Dungeons & Dragons?

The lore and magic systems from this server are very unique, and I think that a lot from here could be turned into really amazing monsters, features, subclasses, and magic items for D&D 5e. I'm curious to see what crazy, off-the-wall things you all think would make unique additions to somebody's D&D campaign.

The Prince stands atop the Tower of Courage and looks out across Fi'andria as the red rain falls. His cloak is drawn close and his brows are knitted together. Fear was uncommon to him in these days, but something dark had occurred — something that he could not yet comprehend. As he watched on in dismay, he felt his heart grow heavy and hard...

    ... where were his Templars?

To the former denizens of the Ebonwood —

The news of your realm's disbandment was sudden. I write this short missive to achieve one purpose: to explain.

The Ebonwood was in great danger. Minuvas Melphestaus' self-anointment to "Speaker of Malin" soured the moods of elves across Almaris. In an attempt to silence him, assassins of Elvendom were sent to butcher my close friend. The rage I felt for this kinslaying was only surpassed by one other thing: duty. The Ebonwood cannot defend itself. When Oren rallied its banners, only two of us stood against the dwarves. At the conclusion of the Orenian Civil War, the woodlands would have garnered wrath and ire from both Oren and the other elven nations. Soon, the Ebonwood would be at war without an army willing to defend it or councilors willing to lead it.

And so, I disbanded it. You may think it cruel or unjustified, but the alternative was utter annihilation. I pray you all see that some day. For now, take pride in what once was; find peace in the lands beyond the Ebonwood. Aspects guide you all.

I feel like after two years a man can change plenty. Besides, if they haven't done anything wrong since their return, and you are so adamant on him being a horrible human being, then wait for him to screw up again and kick him out. Even IRL companies don't immediately fire employees who mess up when it comes to harassment, they just log it in their personnel file for eternity and tell them to never speak with the victim unless it's related to work. They rarely fire people unless it goes up to HR, which is dependent on the stance of the victim to how severe the case was. In other words, on a server as big as this, I doubt you'll even need to rp with the guy if he's that disgusting to you, and can avoid them. Or you can continue to bring it up to higher authority to keep him banned, but if the admin team unanimously accepted them back into the fold, I highly doubt whatever they did was beyond forgiveness. Otherwise... Well, we wouldn't be having this issue.
Again, if you want justice, just wait for them to inevitably screw up again. Unless they truly have changed, which is a likely possibility considering the admin team's response. And if it is the latter, then why stomp on a man who isn't the same as before? Rehabilitation is punishment enough.

The issue is not if the player has changed their ways. They were welcomed back to a community where their former victims still are active: a community the victims thought was safe to remain in after his ban. That is unfair to those who were affected. This Admin Team decision is akin to firing someone at a job for harassment only to hire them back two years later despite their victim still working there. It creates an unsafe and unfriendly environment. Period.

    CALL TO THE COURAGEOUS

To those of strong will and character —

There is no greater power than that of your own. Courage, bravery and persistence is what gives us the strength to enact the Will of Good; to root out Evil by the stem and purge it from our world. The Blessed TEMPLARS OF THE WHITE FLAME are here to do just that.

Be you someone of renowned character, justice despite desire and bravery unparalleled, you will soon be gifted recognition in the eyes of MALCHEDIAEL, THE AENGUL OF COURAGE. Travel westward to the glistening Temple of Radiance where your skills and might will be measured against the vigor of our Order. Should you succeed, you will be granted the radiant powers of the Aengul and brought forth on the path to Righteousness and Clarity.

Come, Wayward Champions of Courage. The time to bask in His brilliant Light is upon us all.

    Spoiler

Within the week, our new build for a Templar Temple (along with the rest of Celia'nor) will be placed on the server. This post is a prelude to holy order roleplay that will take place at this new institution. If you are interested in seeing what the Templars are about, feel free to drop by after the paste!

"38 players have asked them to be rebanned aaaaaa"

Petitions have done nothing for the last decade and won't do anything further. A public thread won't force an admin response, or anything of the sorts to do the resolution you want. I understand you want to be the standard bearer to this crusade, but this is not how you do it.

This "sit down and shut up" mentality is abysmal. I am glad you are no longer on the Admin Team.

you're a ******* idiot if you're trying to do a mini petition for shit like this when those screaming wolf also have done shit to the same level. players baffle me sometimes at their pick and choose nature

What a weak, childish response. If you erect any more strawmen, you're gonna have to get some farm land.

The elven prince walked the streets of Providence in a daze. His heart was heavy with the loss, but it was not a feeling a long-lived being was unused to. As he passed beneath the overbrush, he wiped away a falling tear. "Rest well, oem'ii. You will forever remain in my heart as the young girl who sought to understand the world outside your own walls. Ame nae evareh, Anastasia."

  9. "What will they do? They refused to fight us in their own walls; do they intend to fight us in ours?"

Amaesil shakes his head and folds the parchment in two. Such falsehoods would hold no sway over the elves of Celia'nor.

    UNITED IN THOUGHT

It is a joyful day for the Ebonwood!

On this day — the 9th of the Sun’s Smile, 69 SA — the Conclave of Ebonwood voted to amend the Balance Compromise. In its place, my Balance Law now resides:

    Spoiler

    The Balance Law

When voidal magic is utilized, it must be:
          I. Essential for individual defense.
II. The minimum amount required for the necessary effect.
III. Unallowed from harming any portion of the natural world.

The sanctuary known as the Spire of Ilandria will permit the following exceptions within a 10-meter radius of any given outer wall to the structure:
          I. Voidal magic may be used freely so long as it does not corrupt — intentionally or otherwise — the natural world.
II. Voidal constructs may be created within the structure with approval from the Conclave.
III. These constructs must have any corruption cleansed at least once per Elven Week at the expense of the Gwaithor in charge of the structure.
IV. Any unauthorized or dangerous breach of the Balance Law by members of the Spire of Ilandria is grounds for the immediate dismantling of the structure with approval by the Princep.

In the chambers above the great hall, the leaders of the woodland voted unanimously to pass the law; however, votes were changed when the request to announce this as a unanimous decision was proposed. Some of my peers saw this as undue strife or bragging, but I see it as something much greater and stronger: unity.

We did this together. The sons and daughters of Malin — druid and mage alike — brought lasting, safe change to the woodland and found common ground beneath our feet. Every voice spoke; every voice agreed. It did not last long, but such is the way of politicians.

The future is brighter today. The natural world is protected and the mages are granted a new, safe path of practice. Ay'elame!

Amaesil Vuln'miruel, Prince of Ebonwood and Estelaurir of Elvenkind

Templar of Courage, Druid of Oak, Priest of Amaethon

  11. A small frown comes to the elven prince's lips as he reads the missive. "The people of Vortice have always been good, kindly folk and allies to my own. Perhaps developments have come, but were they not protectorates of Urguan? Have the dwarves entered the conflict?"

Prince Amaesil Vuln'miruel ascended the newly-set stone pathway in the western mountains of the Ebonwood. Arriving at the summit, he finally unfurled the missive in his hand. After finishing his reading, he folded the literature and tucked it away with a labored sigh.

"... Too often do honied words make us forget reality," he spoke out into the sky. "Might is governed by goodness and a willingness to sacrifice for the betterment of all. Too long have the pious high elves preached both "progress" and "tradition" as if they were not the inverse of one another. I have seen the vile nature of their traditions, and I prayed for the day that the long-practiced evils were met with ferrum and elves courageous enough to wield it."

"Evil," he repeats. "What is evil was the burning of my colleagues for finding happiness outside their walls. Evil was pretending that no fouler thing existed than those willing to decry Braxus. Evil is using democracy to veil tyranny."

"Let these elves know what now awaits them: armed resistance. A new age comes upon elvenkind, and those who wish to return to the sub-elven practices of those who came before will be met with the swords and shields of true mali."
