In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is the use of Out of Character knowledge and using it in a roleplaying setting. This causes for confusion and fighting, which usually weakens the roleplaying. Powergaming is a way of making your character almost perfect. This is really a pathetic way of roleplaying, at least to me. I feel that being powerful is a lengthy process, in which your character develops and forms weaknesses as well as strengths. Powergaming can also lead to fighting and criticism, due to the fact that it is not a very efficient way of rping.

In-Character:
Character Name: Glorien Swiftaxe
What is your Race?: Dwarf
Biography:
Glorien was born in the dwarven city of Kal’Urguan When he was but a young boy, his mother and father set out to set up a mine with a group of several other dwarves. Glorien accompanied his parents as they set out on the long journey. When the dwarves had set up a mineshaft, each family was allowed to carve out their own miniature house. Glorien was raised in this house for many years. He made friends with another dwarf named Ginier They spent much time mining together.
One day, Glorien’s father decided to teach his son how to hunt. He spent several hours hunting in the forests with his son near the mine entrance. Glorien’s father ran out of arrows, so he dashed towards the mine to fetch some more. Suddenly, a crashing sound was heard, and Glorienr ran towards the mine. When he arrived, he noticed the entire cave entrance had collapsed. He screamed for help, but none came. He had no home and no friends or family. He was completely alone.
Glorien spent much time living by himself in caves or abandoned houses. He also spent plenty of nights lying on moist ground, cold, hungry, and exhausted. Glorien hunted animals for food and drank from streams he would find while roaming the lands. He spent several years of his life doing this, until he was about 43.
Glorien was lying on the ground one morning when he heard the whispering of voices nearby. Glorien rose slowly, looking for the sources of these voices. As the whispering became louder and louder, Glorien recognized that there were about three voices. Glorien, while still groggy from his slumber, began to realize that these must be bandits. He grabbed his supplies and started running. He ran for a long while, not stopping until he was sure he was far away from the voices. AS he entered a clearing, he noticed a lone tent. He entered the tent, hoping to find an ally. Unfortunately, all he found was a small journal. It was written by his deceased friend Ginier’s dad. Glorien noticed that Ginier’s dad mentioned a city known as Kal’Urguan, and included a map on how to get there. Just before Glorien closed the book, he read an entry that made his skin grow cold. “It’s a shame that Glorien was abandoned, left to be taken care of by the Swiftaxe’s. I remember seeing a dwarf child who looked similar to the boy, but I was too busy to ask his name.”
Glorien’s eyes were swelled with tears. He had to find out who his family was. They had left him, and he deserved to know why. Besides, he will at least be able to live a decent life. AS he looked around the tent, he noticed an article of clothing that was dirty and far too big for a dwarf. As Glorien realized he had stumbled into a bandit’s tent, he heard familiar voices nearing. He quickly threw the journal into his bag and ran off in the direction of Kal’urguan.
Glorien is a fairly normal sized dwarf, being 5 ft. 7 in. and about 165 lbs. He is 43 years old. He is fairly muscular, though not as strong as he wishes due to much time spent reading and studying maps of the world around him. He wears dark, dirty clothes and a long, dark beard. He has deep blue eyes that often carry an untold sadness in them. He prefers to fight with a small group instead of an army due to his awkward personality with others. Glorien is often seen carrying an axe at his side, though he occasionally carries a short blade if there is a need for swiftness. Glorien is usually kind and polite to strangers, unless they appear to be orcish or allied with the orcs, in which case he usually ends up in a fight with them. Glorien is proficient in fighting with axes and crafting fine weapons, though he severely lacks skill with a bow.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Glorien would most likely sneak up behind the bandits and swing his axe at one of them. He would then assist the elf in attacking the other. After the bandits are either dead or have run off, Glorien would have a conversation with the elf and learn more about the person he helped.
Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?:
“Hello sir. I don’t mean to be a bother, but do you happen to have any armor or weaponry that might be of any interest to me?”

Other Notes:
I have several friends on the server currently, and the fact that I incorporated a brother into my character’s backstory is because I have a friend who joined the server with whom I am planning on being related too. If you have any problems with my characters backstory, you can PM or email me with any changes you had in mind. I anxiously await your response.
