  1. Here's an idea... On the sea, the fleet of boats filled to capacity with refugees wanders too close to a whirlpool. We barely escape by changing course and throwing anything that's not directly essencial to survival overboard to gain speed. Guess what, that spiffy diamond armor was not essencial. Neither were those 4 stacks of arrows and hell, a bow without arrows... You get where I'm going with this right? It was the gear, or the crew would toss YOU overboard. EDIT: (reads down further) ... Or we could go with Arathandamus's awesome idea. Totally better then mine. XD
  2. Meh, who needs to panic when you can calmly cause mayhem and chaos?
  3. Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: Eruend Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: Nope. How old are you?: 28 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST/Canada Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: Well, I'm pretty easygoing though I like challenges. good mediator when I need to, not too bad in a fight and love giving my all in whatever I set my mind to. I don't like high responsibility, so I usually dodge the hell out of high ranking positions. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Depends on how much this server hooks me. Could be anywhere between 5 to 50+ hours. If it's as good as I think it is, it's likely to go more to the later. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: To me, roleplaying is simply being the character. What would you do if you were raised in the circumstances of that character? How would he/she react to situations because of that? In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is taking advantage of knowledge/ressources that would not be availeable to the character. Powergaming is trying to min-max by simply going for power disreguarding anything that would not directly affect combat performances. What do you expect this server will be like?: I honestly don't know. But part of the fun is discovering something new! What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Shortly visisted the Shipyards server and some creative servers, but my mainstay server is Eye of Wisdom. Good people there and even if I decide to be less active there, I don't intend to quit it. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yup. How did you hear about us?: A friend of mine talked about it and I decided to check it out. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Wha? What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Eruend In-Character: Character Name: Eruend Aestoth, also known as Phobos What is your Race?: Elf (though an odd variation of elf. Check in the bio! XD ) Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): (!!!Warning!!! Wall of text incoming) Eruend Aestoth was born in the northern reaches of the world, part of a tribe of white elves. These White elves were once actually drow in the distant past. Drow that did not "fit in" with the cruel matriarchal society. Being outcasts, they fled to the north where it was cold and harsh to avoid being hunted down by their kin. Through the ages, they became more savage, nearly barbaric and had astounding changes due to their environment, most notibly, their skin tones turning white. During his youth, Eruend's tribe came in contact with a party of nords who immediately became stout allies. These nords having insaciable lust for adventure and fortune had planned to travel back to the mainlands where they would become fierce mercenaries. Eruend who then knew nothing of these lands decided to join the party. Along the journey, this party faced many foes and the nords would contemplate how songs would be sung of their feats, until one fateful day where they met a lone old man. One who would not allow them passage. Things quickly turned sour and only moments later, the party was defeated by the godly powers of this frail figure. This did not end in simple defeat though. In a fit of rage, the man called forth fire and lightning to utterly destroy the party. For the first time in his life, Eruend fled from a fight, even though he could barely manage that much. Broken by what transpired, Eruend wandered alone and mindlessly through the forest where he would have died by wild beasts were it not for the timely rescue of elven rangers scouting the area. They nursed him back to health and welcomed him into their fold. There, Eruend would train once more, but this time, as a defender instead of simply being a warrior. Here is also where his obsession with the arcane arts began. Though devoid of tallent and power in the domain, he would read and practice whatever he could in hopes to better understand how to counter such powers. Many years later, all his efforts payed off once he managed to concieve a new spell. One that had never before been fully exploited by practitioners of magic. A perfect spell nullification zone. Through the decades, Eruend had experimented solely on creating this one spell that would allow him as a warrior to completely overwhelm any caster. Though this spell would drain him completely once it wore off, for a few minutes, Eruend would have the ability to completely supress any and all magical energy within a radius of 2 meters around him. Though this would mean he could no longer rely on his enchanted weapons and equipment while the spell was up, it also meant mages would be forced into meele confrontation if they were to prevail. To this day, though the theory is all valid and experiments are successful, the time to cast is still too long and the time it would remain active is far too short to truly be used in any practical way, so Eruend continues his research and practice until the day he can face the old man, or atleast spit on his grave. Your characters ambitions: Winning at Minecraft. :P Nah, actually he's rather tame. Besides his revenge on the old man and killing any/all drow he encounters, he tries to avoid positions of power. There's a backstorry to it, but I'll spare you. XD Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Kill the bandits and interogate the elf about the event. Tempted to say kill the elf if he/she's the true perpetrator, but I'm not real sure. Depends on the situation I guess, but basicly, Eruend has no qualms killing for what he thinks is just. Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? (let's pick a scenario where I'm restocking supplies) "Hello, I'm looking for some preserved foods for my travels. do you have any?" --- "Excelent, how much for 3 days worth? Oh! And while we're at it, do you know where I could buy some arrows and maybe a new rope?" (Cut and dry, I know, but that's just how Eruend would do buisness. Just went with some basic D&D junk. :/ ) A screenshot of your skin: May be subject to change, bu for now: http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/nature-assasin-461093/ Other Information: Well, built a few cool things on Eye of Wisdom and had them saved as schematics, one being a mage's tower perched on a cliff, then an airship docked to it (doesn't sound all that impressive and though there's better out there, still proud of'em) and my greatest achievement is the mage's keep. 75x75 large and reaching from the void to max build height. Everything within to house and sustain 100 soldiers/staff and 7 mages. Interrior stables for 6 horses and a coral for them. Dungeon, cemetary, crypt, trap filled vault, etc... Expanding it to acomodate royalty. XD
