  1. I completely agree with zortjr. I also agree with the system of having to pay the monks for passage. That way, the boats would be rarer, because a monk would have to be in the right place at the right time, so it couldn't be abused. Also, adding coastal towns would first make the opportunity to have ocean jobs - like a sailor / captain, etc. AND it would bring a whole new aspect to RP PVP and just plain old RP.
  2. Dude, copying Availer's name? Not cool bro.

  3. Just got accepted!

  4. Out-Of-Character: Minecraft Account Name: yorhodes Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: I regretfully did not. I didn't have the funding to attend Minecon. I would've if I could've, but the plane tickets were just too expensive for where I am at right now. How old are you?: I'm only 13, but please don't take this as a fault. I have had a good education, and I am pretty mature, in my opinion. I've had so many servers reject me because of my age. I'm glad to see that LoTC has no age limit. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in New York City, in the state of New York, in the United States of America. (Eastern Standard Time) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: It's my first language, and I have been speaking it all of my life. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I have been playing Minecraft since somewhere before 1.7. I don't remember the exact number, but I was introduced to it by a friend at school at that time, and I’ve been addicted ever since. In my Minecraft “Stats” Menu, I have 34 days of playing time. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I have a busy schedule, but hopefully I could get on 7 / 8 hours of the week. You would definitely see me online a lot more on weekends than during the week. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: I know that Roleplaying is an intense form of Minecraft SMP, where the player is submersed completely into their character and role in the online society. They take on all aspects of the character's lives, and should not deviate from what their character would do. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is a term thats used for people that use out-of-game information to use for in-game decisions. For example, a person speaking a language that is posted on the forums, but a language they have never been taught in-game. Power gaming is abusing the RolePlay by making your character a god of the game. For example, if you were Rp fighting with someone, you saying "Shoots and kills Jack from afar" would be power gaming. To fix this fault, you would have to give the opponent the opportunity to defend: "Attempts to shoot Jack from far range," or "Fires an arrow at Jack" which would give Jack the chance to say "Dodges arrow," or "Is wounded from the arrow, but continues fighting." What do you expect this server will be like?: I'm hoping it will be a supportive, and active community that will take the server and the RolePlay seriously. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've been on many building servers, but I've become tired with unlimited resources. Thats not the way the game was intended to be played, even if the developers added a "creative mode" to the game. I've heard a lot of great things about LoTC, and decided to give it a shot. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, they are all fair and justifiable. How did you hear about us?: I've seen many videos from some of your players, including some from the Mongoose Country server, and PotatoOrgy. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes, I just voted a couple hours ago. I was vote number... 808. What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Vaelgar In-Character: Character Name: Vaelgar Ragnon What is your Race?: Elven Race Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Vaelgar's story starts with a life on the run. At a young age, him and his family were banished from ever being seen on Elven grounds again. It began when Vaelgar's grandfather, Mingrael, disgraced his entire family into lives of shame. Mingrael spent a long life in prison, after he was sentenced to death in Malinor. He was abandoned by his family at a young age, after he dropped out of school, and was forced into a life of poverty, begging for money on the streets. He finally joined a band of Orc'en thieves, that constantly raided the Elven cities, because he had no form of income. The Orcs accepted him as an outcast, and willingly raised him to become a professional thief. They were so welcoming because they understood what it was like to be cast away by their families, just as Krug had been treated by the other Descendants. However, the other Orcs were not so willing. They didn't like having a member of another race in their ranks, and immediately disapproved. It was put to a rigged vote by the Orc warlord, and the outcome was inevitable. The elven boy Mingrael would be forced to go back to Malinor, begging for money on the streets once again. Whilst there, he tried to commit a routine robbery like he had done with the Orcs, but without the support of other thieves to watch his back, he was easily caught, and was sentenced to a life in Elven prison. In a final plea at a successful life, he made contact with the Orcs, and schemed a devious plan that would surely break him out of prison. He would win over the love of the nearby female prison guard, and seduce her into giving him the keys. Unfortunately for him, the guard had a direct contact line to the elven leader, and notified him immediately. She did make one crucial mistake, which would soon be known to the world, and eventually the birth of Vaelgar. Mingrael was executed publicly for attempted rape and robbery from past occurrences, and was the laughing stock of the entire Elven Race. Soon word traveled around that Mingrael had had a baby with the prison guard, and there was question with what was to be done with her. It was a baby girl, with an innocent slate. A prince of Malinor wanted to take her in, to right what her father had done wrong, but the leader denied him access. "No prince of Malinor shall make any contact with a convict's daughter!" The prince of Malinor was crushed. He couldn't stand watching this girl grow up just as her father did, but there was nothing to be done. If he tried to overrule his superior, his fate would be the same as the girl's. He kept a close eye on her, and often went by in a hooded cloak to throw her a few gold coins. Finally he couldn't bare it anymore. One late night, he made contact with the 15 year old malnourished girl. She was skeptical at first to join a strange man, but she was homeless, and he was offering her food and money. He took her back to his home, and successfully hid her from the other Princes for 4 years. When she was 19, she couldn't stand living a life in solitude any longer. She told her new "father", the prince, that she was leaving, no matter what he said to stop her. His tremendous love for her kept them together, and he decided if he could do nothing to change her mind, he would go right along with her. When the leader of the elves heard that the prince had left, and that he had been hiding the girl within his chamber for four years, he was furious. He banished the prince and his soon to be spouse from ever returning to Malinor or any of the other Elven cities and charters. By now, the prince and his wife had become infamous in the world of the elves. It was soon heard in the gossip of the cities that the ex-Prince and the young woman were to have a baby. His name was to be Vaelgar Ragnon, who would soon become another hot topic of gossip. He soon grew up with the ex-Prince and Helqua in a small cottage on the outskirts of Oren. Because of the age difference between the Prince and Helqua, Vaelgar soon only had a mother to live with, as the Prince had died from old age. The young boy soon became aware of the state he was in. His family now had no source of income, as his father had died, and his mother could not work on their small farm they had developed, because of a life-long backache. He was also aware that he was not like the humans around him on the farmlands of Oren. He had never done the things that the human boys had done, and he had ears of a larger size, and hair of a lighter tone. He was also tremendously taller than them, and was faster and stronger than them. However, when the boys went off to train to fight with swords at the academy, he stayed home and cared for his mother. In his mother's old age, he was told that he was really an elf, and not a human; a word he had only heard of in stories of a faraway land. However, he was told he could never return to his Race's lands, because of something his grandfather had done. Vaelgar soon went off to talk to the other boys about who the elves were, and to find out more information, but he was pushed away by them after their parents had told the children to stay away from him. Vaelgar wished he could just be a normal boy, and not have to worry about his sickly mother, or why his family had done in the past. Anywhere he went, he could not say his own name, because no one would accept him. All the world of Aegis had heard about the boy of the ex-Prince, and Vaelgar could not hold a job anywhere because of that fact. Soon Vaelgar was fed up with trying to keep a job, and went back to caring for his mother. Eventually, he had no choice. Just as his grandfather did, he became a beggar, but this time, on the streets of Oren. No one gave him a dime, seeing that he was an elf. He had no further option but to walk the busy streets of Oren, pickpocketing the wealthy men that boasted their gold pocket watches hanging out of their trouser pockets, where he spends his time away from tending to his sickly mother. In his thirties, Vaelgar wants nothing other than to earn an honest living and have his mother be safe, but he has no way of getting ahead in life. If any human got to know him, they would be happy to call him their friend. He is loyal, cunning, quick, clever, and above all: caring, both for his mother, and the scarce amount of friends he has. Your characters ambitions: Vaelgar aspires to become an elven worker in the city of Oren, tending to the farms and earning an honest living. He wishes for no more than a healthy environment for his mother, and a roof to put over her head, and food in her stomach. He would give up his own food for his mother's well being. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Although Vaelgar hates to admit it, he would use the distraction to raid any food or medicine he could find in the house and run for his life. However, he is proud to say he would be careful not to knock over or break any of the cottage's precious belongings. The supplies he gained from the experience would all go to his sickly mother, and he wouldn't use an ounce of it on himself. Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Vaelgar would say, "Why, I was wondering, are you hiring?" "Oh, Sure!" the shop owner says "I've been looking for some help around here for a long time. Just come on up to the counter here and you can fill out a form." "Why thank you!" says Vaelgar. He walks slowly up to the counter, and hits his head on a crossbeam on the ceiling. "You're a mighty tall fella, aren't you." says the shop keeper. "Err... yes." Vaelgar slowly takes his hood off of his head. "Oh... You're an elf," he says tentatively. "What are you doing in this part of Aegis?" he says, still trying to hold onto the potential worker. No response from Vaelgar. "What's your name, ELF?" with the last word spit out like a disgusting magpie. "You wouldn't happen to be the filthy Vaelgar Ragnon, would you?" Again no response. All Vaelgar does is hang his head. "Get out of my shop, you filthy mongrel!" Vaelgar turns and runs, grabbing a piece of bread off the shelf for his mother as he leaves. I hope I didn't waste your time, and again, Thanks! P.S. The indent doesn't seem to be working for me. Please do not get mad because I have a massive wall of text with no indents. I do know how to make paragraph cuts!
