  1. Shaman generally use the true Blah when chanting spells or communing with the spirits, which is mostly Tolkien's Black Speech. If magic were tied to the chanting of incantations, Shaman would use this language. Druids would probably use the ancient elven tongue. I'd see no problem with humans using latin and simply role-playing it as an ancient language.

I also sort've like the Harry Potter concept where once you become fully immersed in the spell, you no longer need to verbalize the incantation. But for the sake of role-playing and making it apparent to those around you that you're casting a spell, every magic group ought to have some sort've method of doing so.

I'm hoping that with the magic plug-in, there will be some way to have the casting of each spell trigger a standard emote, maybe with the ability to be customized by the player or group, which can be augmented with whatever additional emotes the caster wishes to add. For example, when you click to cast a lightning bolt, you automatically emote something basic like: *strikes the ground with his staff, shaking the ground in a thunderous blow as he calls down a bolt of lightning from the heavens. Players would still need to role-play around it, but it would make the casting of spells less awkward as you try to type your description and then cast the spell along with all of the other emotes before and after. Not sure if this can be done with the plug-in, but it would be nice.

I have two questions to that.

1): Does all Magic need to be "verbally" said or are there ones that do not need incantations?

2): if the Spell is mastered and practiced quite enough, do you think that the incantations are no longer needed?

  2. And what of the innocents? What will become of them? Do not forget that there are Orcs who are not like the ones you see and think, there may be other ways of settling this...

  3. Student Application

    Name: Morek Isoron.

Residence: A Traveller of the Human Realm, usually resides in Salvus.

    Age:

Are you a citizen of Hanseti? (Yes / No )*

    No.

    *Passport required at registration.

    I'm about to get one.

What type of magical sensitivities do you have:

I am able to conduct Small sparks out of my hands, but that is about it.

    Describe your magical background:

My Mother is a Mage and my Father is a Warlock, when I was young they did not have much time with me and usually left me in the house, so I had to fend for myself and learn how cruel and horrible the world was my own way, when I reached my Adolescent years, I began to feel a power inside of me that I really could not explain, then I created sparks out of my hand when I got excited at a Camp Fire, I thought it was Ticklish and fun at first, then I got older and found it slightly less entertaining. When my 18th Birthday finally arrived, both my parents came to visit me and explained most details about the Magic inside of me, they said it is still faint and if I was to improve it, then I should learn at a College, but I didn't want anything to do with it and I wanted to live my own way, they didn't argue with me, but they did give me a White robe, just in case I ever changed my mind, and after months of studying Philosophy, this voice in my head kept telling me that I should follow what my parents said, I thought about it and I eventually gave in, besides, it could link to my Studies.

How many years have you been able to control/conjure this power?

I stared to be able to feel weird at the age of 15, this was then that I was able to create small sparks with my hands, though I do not use it.

What subjects do you wish to learn?

I wish to learn Destruction for defence, Restoration just in case I could assist an injured man, and I am at a crossroads with my other choices, Conjuration and Alteration, these two would seem useful to my studies, but I feel I should talk with a professional inside the College.

Have you ever been exposed to dark magic?

If so, elaborate: No, no dark magic has been commited anywhere near be at all, but I would like to observe how it works, could be useful for my Academic studies.

(( No longer wishing to join the College, I have other tidings.))

  4. Just to clarify one single point, since the begining of the Peacekeepers, we have barely recieved a Payment, most of Recruits have been fired because of incompetence or they just simply left because they got bored. If we were to adapt the system to a more complicated one, we will indeed, have to be more than the few left who just work for their love and dedication to their nation and their will to protect their people.

I agree, most of the citizens become Peacekeepers for the pay and stuff like that, I've seen incompetent Peacekeepers. Tnot naming names) Yet only a small amount of the Peacekeeper community are still trusted.

  5. Peaceful ≠ No standing military

People take Salvus' reputation as a "peaceful" nation far too literally. Salvus has not and does not declare war on other nations. We support our allies (like Hanseti vs Renaltus) in hopes that they will support us if we are ever attacked. We defend ourselves from threats like bandits. But we do not independently take offensive action.

Besides, if Salvus hired a mercenary force they still have an army, it's just not as loyal and dedicated as the PK force.

If Salvus has no army but is very peaceful, it will become word to the outside world that the easiest target to hit would be this city. I like the idea about the Allies supporting our ways, but with the Civil war happening between them, will they have time to support us?

  8. Bandit's take Salvus' peaceful reputation as a sign for the city to be an easy target.

Salvus isn't like high advanced trained cities like Renatus or hanseti. There's more Farmers then Peacekeepers within the city it seems. My suggestion would probably be to recruit some people from outside to support the city.

(BTW doesn't Solace get "visits" from Tribe people?)

  9. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:CraftPrime.

    How old are you?: 14.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in England, (UK) so that's around GMT +0

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, I have been speaking the language for long period of my life.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm an okay guy who likes to play Video Games, don't get me wrong, I also like playing sports like Soccer, or Basketball, but I usually like to stay indoors.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Mostly about 12-15 hours per day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role playing is stepping into the Shoes of a character you have created or invented, the character can be as small as a Thief, or as big as a King, but even if you start small, your character can grow through the ranks and even become the next Lord, I really prefer playing as a Wise type of character who gives inspiration to the rest of his peers. The important thing is to never let any information from OOC and use it IC. I love to role play to escape the "Problems" of reality and live the life of someone who I'm not.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I learnt Role play from a lesson in school, I then used this skill on various games like Minecraft, I just love to do it, and it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Meta-gaming is when you take information OOC and use it IC, for example, I was on Skype with my friend, he was next to the enemy we were targeting and he gave me the Location of where he was, I went to that area, but how could my character know where he was? Another example would be my character walking up to a person and checking his Biography, I then state "Hello, Lycan!", while my Character has never seen or learnt anything from that person at all. What I think of Meta-gaming is that it is unfair and shouldn't even be used, another way of cheating I suppose.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is when you enforce an act or an attack on another player without letting them get a chance to counter it or take action from the attack, my example would be like this, I am playing as a Guard who is chasing down 3 thieves, I then emote "tackles one of the Thieves and cuts his leg off so he doesn't run away", This would be my example of Power-gaming, for I attacked the person with him not getting a chance to strike back or counter it. Power-gaming in my opinion ruins the suspense on what's going to happen next, for it already states the obvious.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I feel that the server will improve my Role playing skills and meet other professional role players, I expect no Meta-gaming or Power-gaming coming out of them.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played on other numerous servers, but most of them have just been Vanilla and creative, I've played on one RP server and I got the taste of what it feels like, I also hang out on one of my friend's Private Servers.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I've read through them, and I think they will make the Server really fair and balanced, and help new players feel a great experience and feel welcome.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I do.

How did you hear about us?: I've seen multiple videos on YouTube about Lord of the Craft, the Trailer looked amazing, and felt I needed to join this server.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: No, but I will try when I come across Minestatus.

    In-Character:

    Character Name:Zeedrik Mortis.

    What Race are you?: Human.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Character was born in the lands of Salvus.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): "Heh, you want to see the world through my eyes? Well, here ya' go. I was born in a Small House in Salvus, wasn't pretty, but it got a roof over my head, both my Parents never had time for me, mother was a Mage, and Dad was a Necromancer. Tch, I hate Magic, it's the only reason why my parents never actually wanted me, it's just idiotic, well, they're still alive, and they still don't care, I never get to see them, and I'm like 18 now, working in this Farm is so tiring, at least it's better then begging on the Streets, so maybe I do use a little magic now and then, but I don't have control of it, so I never use it. Listen to this, imagine being born in a world where both of your parents are still alive, but they never took care of you when you were young and left you to fend for for yourself during your entire Childhood?

I still see 'em at times, but, I mean... *Sighs*.

Well, if anyone asks me to help them, I will, I have a bunch of Morals I have to follow, and if I have to live with these thoughts for the rest of my life, then so be it, heh, why am I telling you this? I'll just be on my way, sorry for boring you with my life Story...*Picks up Staff* I'll see ya' in the next life...

( Zeedrik is a Philosopher who uses his Wisdom of the Mind to help people with their problems, he carries a Staff due to him being too lazy to walk on his own and he thinks it looks awesome, When he was young, his parents never get to see him, or give him enough love, and this made his Childhood lonely, he lives in a Small house, and his parents visit separately for they don't have the same Moral Values, he is a friendly guy to strangers until he finds out what kind of person they are, he works as a Shepherd, and wears a White/Blue robe given to him by his mother and father when he turned 18, this was the first time they both saw him together.

He now travels Asulon and spectates his surroundings, and if there's trouble going on he doesn't interfere, but does something secretly.)

What is your Character's ambitions?: To bring about peace in the lands of Asulon, but he knows he can't do it alone, so he does this in secret, or just doesn't get involved.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): He uses a Golden or Diamond Hoe(Staff), to show people that he means no harm or danger to anybody who passes him.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? He is filled with moral Wisdom, and uses it to get into people's heads verbally, he does not revolve in violence often.

Other Information about your Character: Not much to say really.

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? *Thinks to himself* "That Halfling seems to be in trouble, but I can't help him, but I do know something that may assist him", *Zeedrik walks up to the Mugging"

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? *I look at the Wares* "Oh no, I will not buy anything, thank you for the offer though" *He proceeds to persuade me" "But this is Diamond, you sure you don't want that?"

says the Merchant, *I look again at the Jewel* "I'm not going to buy any of this, I know it is fake" *The Merchant looks in shock* "Please don't tell the guards!" the merchant begs, *I look upon him and feel pity* "Listen, I will not tell the Guard about this encounter, but you have to promise not to sell this stuff again." *He nods* " But if you don't quit, I think he may find out in about a day or two, so take my advice to account and stop this, understand me?"

*He then nods his head in fear* *I then walk away*

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: *Thinks to himself* These look very tempting to take, but I won't, this stuff belongs to someone else, though I feel tired, I should take a rest here, and pay the Owner by tommorow.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Greetings Traders", *The Traders greet me in the same tone* "Hello good Traveller", *They then try to ask me to buy stuff for the Journey* "I think I will take 15 Pieces of Bread, thank you" *The Traders make the Prices 100 Minas for the whole lot*, *I pay them, even though I have

used a Medium amount of my money* "Have a good day!" says the Trader. *I then proceed Travelling*

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: *I walk up to the Guards and they offer me the said-reward* "You, sir, will you help us?" *I then think to myself* I can't help them, it is against the Balance, but I can give them advice. *I look at the Gaurd* "Sir, I cannot help you, but I've seen the weak points to these men, do you care to listen?" *The Gaurd is then taken into interest* "All right, what is it?" *I then proceed* "They are focusing on you like a Wall, try and get behind them and they will never notice and you may take them down with ease* *The Guard understands and hand me 200 Minas for my Services, I then proceed to ignore this and continue walking* "I hope it serves you well, sir, good day!"

  10. Minecraft Account Name: CraftPrime.

    How old are you: N/A

    Time/Country of residence: GMT.

Do you have a Good grip on the English Language/Grammar?: Yes.

Small 2-3 sentence of yourself: Well, I am a type of Gamer that is interested into stuff like RP and things you can get involved in, I have been on Minecraft ever since 1.5 and so far, it has been the best game I have ever played.

How much time could you be on the Server weekly?: I will try to be on as much as possible, maybe 4-5 days per week, maybe more, it depends.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is when you take the Role of a Character in a story, game or anything like that.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying? if any: If there's anything about gaming I love, it's Roleplaying, I usually go on different RP servers and this may be added to those selections, I have a lot of experience, I usally prefer the types of RP of when a Crisis is going on.

In your own words, define what the act of Meta-gaming is: Meta-Gaming is the type of things that kind of ruin RP, an Example of Meta-Gaming would be like this, in IRL, a guy posted something on the Forums about their character, another guy looks at this and finds out his weakness, he uses it on him, but the thing is, how could the Viewer guy's character know about the Poster's character's weakness. That is what I think Meta-gaming is.

In your own words, define the act of Power-Gaming: What I think of Power-Gaming is of a Character's abuse of his own power, an example would be like when 2 Magic users have an epic RP battle, the villain, keeps using excuses to prevent his character from dying.

What do you expect the Server to be like?: I expect it to be very Big and Wide, I also expect it to be friendly and has a lack of Greifers, for they ruin games and whatnot. :P

Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Of course, I will keep my word to the said Law.
