Out-Of-Character: Tim
Minecraft Account Name: Timleo
Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: I was unable to attend Minecon due to a performance conflict.
How old are you?: I am 24.
Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST/USA
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I have a good grip on the English language as well as proper grammar.
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a nerd who loves anything medieval themed. I make a living acting and singing like a goofball as a Musical Theater performer.
How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I can estimate my weekly server play time to be around ten to fourteen hours(may change when Guild Wars 2 arrives).
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Role playing, in my opinion is the act of enveloping a character. Instead of acting and reacting as you normally would, you develop given circumstances that change how your character behaves. The choices are built upon a fictional history that influences your character's present. it is the most natural form of "playing", since we all see children do it everyday. Role playing in this context is simply putting those actions into text.
In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. "Metagaming" is a term used to describe when a player is acting out of the "boundaries" of thier given Roleplaying world, usually in an effort to stay alive or gain an edge in a situation. An example would be someone who "overheard" they were going to be attacked later that night in game, and so their character barricaded themselves in their home with weapons ready, for no "RP" justifiable reason.
What do you expect this server will be like?: I anticipate this server to be extremely professional in upholding the extensive rules and lore that so many people worked so hard to create. I expect it to be a very immersive RP sim.
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: None of note, minecraft wise. I was involved in an RP server called "The CrackDen" in the game Second Life, for about two years. I used my RP characters as base research for a musical I was writing. Putting them in situations that I could not control, and then having them react to it helped me develop said characters more than I ever could by simply thinking over a notebook with a bag of doritos beside me. ;)
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have read, understood, and agreed to the rules.
How did you hear about us?: I found a link on Scuttles' LB's PhotoRealism page, on Minecraftforums.net.
Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? I did vote, and have no idea what vote number I was, due to closing the tab before I realized there would be a question asked about it. My efforts to hide this fact were met with a "You have already voted today" message. I can, however, tell you an exact number 23 hours from now. :D
What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Timleo
In-Character: "If 'ee be askin' poliotely, I'll tell yas clear moi name is Frok."
Character Name: Frok
What is your Race?: Dwarf
Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
Frok knew he was a bastard. Frok was raised with the ever present understanding that this title carried with it great shame. Although from watching the excessive amount of adulterous behavior that went on in his village, he wondered if the shame lay more in his mother's resentment towards his father not willing to marry.
It was said that Frok could trace his lineage back to High Architect Lukas himself, but he did not believe this to be true; Frok could barely thatch a roof, much less build monuments. With softer skin, and a melodic voice, he stood out from the average dwarf in his village. When his Dwarven brothers let out a bawdy song filled with women and wine, Frok followed with a mournful ballad depicting the Dwarven journey to Asulon. Frok favored beauty over brawn in almost every circumstance. He was favored in the taverns for his lyrical prowess.
Now that he has come of age, Frok seeks to leave the scorn of his mother's home and find his place in Asulon.
Your characters ambitions: Frok merely hopes to spread joy through song. Seeking to find employment as a Bard in Kal'Dwain, he has pondered what he may do afterward, if he finds himself financially sound. Perhaps travel to distant regions, singing tales of his lands back home? Following a brave leader into battle and writing songs that will be sung for generations to come? Only time can dictate the course of his journey.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Frok stands there, frozen with the realization of violence before him. Frantically, he glances back along the road he came, the smoke from the Inn barely visible in the distance. Praying that the bandits have yet to see him, he runs back towards the Inn, hoping to rally help before the worst should happen to the unknown Elf.
Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Frok glances up at the stranger, relieved to finally see someone whom he didn't suspect wanted to rob him. "Aftarnun sire. I seem to be needan som 'elp with me waypoint! Oim about as lohst as a vargin on 'is 'ohneymoon!" Frok laughs and continues, "Could ye be pointin the way tah Salvace?"
