From being a kid, playing with friends in the park, imitating Harry Potter, to playing online RPGs such as Runescape and WoW... even a bit of D&D (The tabletop game, not online). In-Character:
Character Name: Murff Stoutlegs
What Race are you?: Dwarven
What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Cave Dwarf
Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Murff, like many of his Dwarven brethren, was born in the caves, raised in the caves and works in the caves. His Mother always joked to her friends saying that he was the cutest, little Dwarf in the entire world, but Murff constantly got embarrassed. From a young age Murff picked up a pick and helmet and try to run to the mines numerous times, but his Father always wanted him to wait until he was at least grown up a bit first. In his youth, Murff enjoyed the simple things in life. Eating cave fungus, returning home violently sick; playing tag with his Dwarven buddies, tripping and wailing for his Mother. Being young was great for Murff.
When Murff had "grown up" according to his Father, he let him come to the mines along side him. The majority of the time Murff just held his Father's lamp to light the path ahead. Every now and then, his Father would scare him with old folk stories such as the "Rock Man" or the "Haunted Mine". Murff would always fall for these tall tales and would frequently run from the mine screaming whilst his Father watched him run, wetting himself with laughter.
As an older man, Murff's interests have changed. His hobbies include: getting drunk, mining for gold and having a brawl for no reason. Sometimes he does all three at the same time! He is less of a scaredy cat now and his beard has filled out a considerable amount. He has lost many friends, but has also made new ones through the mines. He is more inclined to help out his community, usually just by being charitable to his fellow Dwarves. His shirt, however, is too small for him, having not had a new one in over three years. He has a strong hate for goblins unfortunately. He sees them as scum and vermin, not Orcs.
What is your Character's ambitions?: Murff's ambitions include becoming a well known face, in and out of the mines. He wants to link his community and help relationships between other sub-races.
What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The pickaxe, he is well acquainted the fine tool.
What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?: Murff has a few talents. His favourite is being able to down a keg in seconds. He also claims he can smell gold, but can't all Dwarves?
A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): May not be the best screenshot. Photography isn't one of my skills.
Other Information about your Character: Murff is partially blind in one eye and has a small lung capacity due to all the rubble in the mines.
Open-Response-Questions
Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?: Murff knows taking on two armed men is a very stupid idea, but he also knows he can't let a Halfling be hurt or robbed. Murff would make a hard decision (at a distance to avoid being seen of course) and in the end, would walk away, leaving the helpless Halfling to his fate.
Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?: "I see ye have fine wares, that golden tankard looks especially nice, how much?" (Assuming the merchant offers an extortionate price, Murff would reply) "T' the Nether with ye and yer prices!"
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:"GOLD! A golden sword! Oh, I knew I could smell something." *rubs his hands and licks his lips with relish at his find* "I'm no giving tis away ti no one!" *he would then walk away, not even taking a look at the two ingots in the box*.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?: "Please mate, can ye help me? I've no food, I'm 'ungry and cold, can you help a small man such as meself out?"
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:"Right!" *Murff roles up his sleeves and raises his fists* "I'll help ye and yer guard if there is ale and gold. Failin' 'at, I'll keep walkin'". *Seeing as the reward is the pride in having helped the town guard, Murff is tempted, but he sees no REAL profit for him and walks off*.
I hope this is good enough for this truly great server! I also apologise if you find my language choice for the Open-Response hard to comprehend. I noticed a similarity between Dwarven tongue and my local Scots dialect, so I may have twisted the Dwarven words slightly.
