The Shadows What we do The Shadows is a group of people with very different "professions". We are in the information racket, assassin market, and the thieves field. We are similar to Spies and Agents, in the sense that we blackmail individuals into submission and gain information and dirt on those we have contracts with. The Shadows are expected to be able to free run and find a way to pass every obstacle. We use the tops of buildings, dark alleys, and any means necessary to get the job done. We gain contracts from people to either rob, blackmail, get information on, or even kill or interrogate. You get paid when you complete a job and are greatly rewarded for doing your job without getting noticed. Background and Lore Recently created in the lands of Asulon by Rohnan Kinsman "The Shadow", The Shadows are an elite group of thugs, agents, spies, and assassins. During his early years, Rohnan The Shadow set out to steal from the rich and kill for the poor. He quickly banded himself with his friends and brothers and created The Shadows, and together robbed, looted, killed, and perfected their elusive skills. The first home of The Shadows was in Solace, were they had their base of operations. However, The Shadows had run into a stopping point, all of the members of The Shadows had been put to death after they were discovered on a particular heist. The only member to escape was their leader, Rohnan The Shadow, who had escaped to Arethor to avoid trial and death. Now he seeks new members to follow him and carry out his will. The Oath of the Shadows I hereby swear my allegiance to Rohnan Kinsman "The Shadow". For He is my leader, my hope, and the light in the darkness. He will lead and I will follow. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Rohnan Kinsman was born in Solace and into a poor family of farmers. At an early age he learned to farm and work the fields. As he grew older and wiser he was given his first bow to hunt for his family. Thats when he learned his talent. He was a natural master of the bow. Rohnan quickly practiced and honed his skills with the bow and as a hunter. His parents died when he was 17 of a dreadful disease and he was quickly orphaned. His home was taken away. His fields and livestock were slaughtered and confiscated. Rohnan learned what the real world was fast, with his home in Solace gone and no oppurtinity there he began his travel to the Cloud Temple for work. He quickly found work as a hired bowman and traveled around all of Asulon. He has fought many bandits and worked with great rangers and hunters. He quickly became a known bowman. However he disappeared for a long time, no one knew where he was. The people had forgot about him and his skills and adventures. He grew older and wiser, and at age 30 he reappeared in Asulon as a mysterious stranger to the people. He now seeks out more adventures and wealth, and to become a well known land ower and huntsman. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? "Hey you! What are you men doing to that halfling?!" Rohnan says. "Aint none of your business you mutt!" the theif says shaking down the halfling."Stop now or my arrow will split your head in two!" Rohnan says drawing his bow."Aye you aint nothing we cant handle" the theif says, both of them drawing swords. Rohnan quickly fires of two shots into the theifs skulls, killing them in just a few shots. "Go halfling, hurry and retreat to your home." Rohnan says to the halfling picking him up from his feet."Thank you sir! I owe you my life!"the halfling says running off to his home. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "I don't need any of your wares sir, I'm fully equipped already" Rohnansays trying to brush off the salesman. "Aye! But look at that sword! I got a perfectly good Iron one here, brand new and as sharp as a Dwarves pick!" the man says. "No thank you my sir, I will pass on your offer today." Rohnan says walking away from the stall. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: "My lucky day" Rohnan says chuckling a bit. He collects the items from the chest and starts to exit the house when he comes across a bandit."HEY YOU! This is my home your breaking into!" the bandit yells drawing his sword. "Im sorry I did not know! Here take your things" Rohnan says offering the stolen goods back. "No sale your theif!" The bandit charges Rohnan. Rohnan quickley draws his bow and shoots him in the leg, staggering the bandit. Rohnan drops the stolen gear and runs off. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "hello kind sirs, can I ask you for some food and drink?" Rohnan asks to the head merchant. "Aye! Get this man some food!" The merchant claps as his servants run off to fulfill the order. "Also, I need some directions to Solace, I have some business to take care of there." Rohnan asks the merchant. "Aye, simple, just go to that rock formation and take a left, Solace should be that way." the merchant says handing Rohnan the food anf drink. "Thank you for your hospitallity sirs, it will not be forgotten!" Rohnan expresses his gratitudeand wanders off. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Rohnan ponders the information over considering acting on it. "It would interfere with my travels, i dont think i can attend this one..." Rohnan thinks to himself. Rohnan ignores the possibility of a quest in order to stick with his travels. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Vegard Aurdal, a master of the great sword, battle axe, and war bow, is the perfect example of true Nord Warrior. He lives to fight and drink, he is tall, muscular, and a fair-haired fighter. He is what his friends refer to as a "BattleMaster." Vegard was born into a small tribe of nomads somewhere inside The Wilds. He was raised in a strict warrior society and tought to kill or be killed. His father tought him how to first wield an axe and shield and how to hunt and kill. He traveled with his fellow nomads across the lands, hunting with his fellow warriors and providing food and safety to his people. He eventually claimed a woman and became one of the most respected warriors in his tribe. All was peaceful and good for Vegard, however, one day he was out hunting with his fellow warriors, his tribe was attacked and his family burned and killed by orcs. He returned to see orcs feasting on and killing his people. He and his fellow warriors charged the orcs with pure rage and anger. Many of his warriors died in the insuing battle for his tribe's camp. Vegard's life was turned to rubble, his warriors now dead or fled. Vegard took one last look at his dead family and camp. One of the men shout*Vegard begins to walk towards the 2 men* "Hail, what are you men doing to this defenseless man?" Vegard says in a baritone voice "None yah business you dirty Northerner" The robber says unsheathing a dagger.*Vegard laughs in a booming voice* "Your crazy to think that puny dagger will stop me!" Vegard exclaims.*Vegard pulls out a long great sword to intimidate the robbers* "Alright man, we dont want any trouble! Come on Barigoth, lets go to the pub." One robber says in caution."This man doesnt scare me! You wanna protect this dirt monkey then you can go through me!" The other man says drawing a sword.*The cowardly robber runs off as Vegard readies his sword to attack the braver man* "Well then, come at me!" Vegard says in a frightening voice. *The robber charges him and Vegard engages him in a heated sword duel**After about 5 minutes of fighting Vegard swings a final blow at the robbers head, decapitating the man**Vegard sees that the halfling ran off as he sheaths his sword* "Hmm, stay safe little one" Vegard says to himself as he walks off. -Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. The merchant says. "Thats a little steep for an apple, but I have plenty of minas to give." Vegard says as he hands the merchant the minas. "Why thank yah sir" THe merchant says, tipping his hat. *Vegard walks of taking a bite of his new bought apple* -Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. "Get out of my house now! You have 5 seconds or your a dead man!" The elf woman shouts keeping her aim steady on Vegard's head. "Aye, I will immeaditly!" Vegard replies as he begins to run out the door and back in the woods. *He wipes the sweat of his head* "Well, she wasnt to freindly" Vegard says to himself. -Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?: "Hello traders, this is a nice little camp you have set up here, reminds me of home. The greeter says. "Aye, thank you kind sirs, I wish you luck in your travels" Vegard says grabbing up his things and throwing a sack on his shoulder."As do we wish luck for you! Safe travels warrior!" The greeter says waving his hand as Vegard walks of into The Wild. -You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. "Aye, I do" Vegard says pulling out a great sword. "Alright then! Come men! WE FIGHT!" The guard yells, rallying his men together as they march to the bandit camp. *Vegard follows the guards resting his sword on his shoulder**The party soon sees the bandit camp and get ready to strike* "Alright, archers, get on that hill and get your bows ready, the footman will charge up to the camp and on my signal, the archers will fire" The guard says in a whispering voice. "Vegard is it? You will attack with our footmen in the main force." the guard intsructs him. "Aye, sounds like a plan!" Vegard replies. *The archers climb up the hill next to the bandit camp and draw there bows, the footmen and Vegard travel up the path just outside the bandit camp gate* "ATTACK!" the guard yells ordering the archers to fire and the footmen to break the gate. *Vegard and 3 othr footmen charge the gate as the archers fire their bows*"Aye men! Keep it up!" Vegard yells. *Vegard and the footmen attack the bandits, quickly dispatching the weak ones**The archers hold there fire and the guards rally around the camp's fire, the bandits have been killed* "Thank you for the help Vegard. You have truly won this victory for us" the guard says handing out 500 minas to Vegard. "Nay, I dont need your minas, just let it be known the Vegard was here." Vegard says sheathing his sword and turning to walk away. "Thank you Vegard! You are a true warrior!" The guard says in gratitude.
