SlayerOfBrooms replied to KidKrinkles's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
A Raven, black as night flies towards the door. It waits patiently outside, and has a small not attached to it's leg - Duke Grand Marshal Ezekiel of House Tarus, I wish to join the House of Tarus as a soldier under your command. I am a fairly inexperienced soldier, but wish to increase my skill (Which happens to be 52 swords, 8 wrestling, and 8 bows). More importantly, I wish to serve a purpose. Let me serve yours. It is simply signed - Change -
Looking for a guild I am Kalzar Change - Preferably just 'Change'. I am a 42 year old human, in the prime of my life. I have several skills, but am willing to train in all. However, I am most willing to train in the arts of swordsmanship. I wish to serve some purpose in the ream of Asulon, to make a difference, and have decided that to join a guild will be the best way to do that. (OOC - Just so you know, IC, I hate orcs, and have a bit of an attitude.) Stats: Lumberjack - 13 Swordsmanship - 52 Mining - 17 Farming - 15 Excavation - 6 Archery - 5 Wrestling - 8 (Skills not mentioned are on 0.) Post a comment underneath if you are interested.

The Seventis Military
SlayerOfBrooms replied to SDJFDSJNFDSLKJVNDFBN's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
Where do I post a Seventis Military Application? -
Application Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: SlayerOfBrooms How old are you?: 13 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Australia Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Definitely. I would be disappointed with a ‘B’ in English. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I have brown-ginger hair, brown eyes, am the fifth shortest person in my class, love my computer, athletics/running, fencing, and collecting things. I am an early riser, from 6:00 am, and do not like sleeping. Eating is one of my favorite hobbies. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Probably about 1-2 hours a day, on weekdays, and even more on weekends. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is when you create a character in a game, and then live as them. You have to immerse yourself in their world, live like you would if you were them, and the world was real. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: My roleplaying experience is very limited, although I fully understand the concept. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is playing the game, using information that, ordinarily, your character would have no way of knowing. For example, if you were friends with someone on the server in real life, and they told you that they were planning a raid on your place, then you would take all your stuff and leave. That would be Meta gaming. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power gaming is making your character superior to everyone else’s, or not giving the other person time or an opportunity to react. For example, you are about to commence a fight with someone, and you say *Me pulls out knife, throws it and kills Fred instantly*. That is power gaming. What do you expect this server will be like?: A very well organized server, with an excellent and authentic role-playing atmosphere, and admins and mods who don’t abuse their power. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on Pitforge, PVP Pitforge, Keystone, The Battlecraft, Mafiacraft and three different Minecraft Capture The Flag servers. There were hackers on all of them, or people with mods, and the admins like to make your life hell just because they could. Apart from that, there could be up to 75 seconds of lag in Mafiacraft, and Keystone was really boring because it was a creative server. I still play on the capture the flag servers, but they can get really repetitive and boring. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I have. How did you hear about us?: From my friend, Thrain_Ironmail. He was surfing Minecraft forums, and found your webpage. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I was not informed that you needed a separate application to become a Mori’Quessir, which is why my last app was declined. <http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/52107-slayerofbrooms-second-application/page__p__398838__hl__%2Bslayerofbrooms%26%2339%3B+%2B__fromsearch__1#entry398838> In-Character: Character Name: Valinor. Valinor Everloch. What Race are you?: I am human. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I was rased in the Northern lands, by Dwarves. (I’m a Northerner) Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): My parents were born far overseas, in a distant land. There they met, and were married. For a long while, they were happy. But then, my mother, the fair and beautiful Sirah Morningveil, longed for something else, and desired to see the world. My father, I do not even know his name, was against this notion, but he loved my mother too much to decline. However, one day the ship that carried them both was attacked, by pirates. Right in the heat of the battle, my mother went below decks and gave birth to me. My father defended both her and me valiantly, and we defeated the pirates, but there were many losses and my father was mortally wounded. He died before we got to shore. My mother settled with me, on Asulon, but she never remarried. As my mother grew older, work was harder to come by, so I began to search for a job. I eventually found one, working for a farmer, harvesting his crops. The pay was not particularly good, but it put the bread on the table. Until one day, when I was returning from a days hard work, and I saw something that made my blood run cold. My house, laying in ruins and smoking. I cried out and ran. When I got there, it was nothing but a pile of ash. I cried long, that day. The descent into madness was not pleasant. I found nothing of my mother, whoever attacked us must have taken her. I still know not why. I ran then, and made my way into the Great Forest. I lived, for many years, as a wild animal, with no resemblance to anything human at all. During a battle with one of the creatures that live in the dark places of the world, my eye was wounded. The scar cuts across the left side of my face, and my eye turned red, with blood, and I lost the sight from that eye. I began to starve, as I was too wounded to hunt. But then, a group of warriors, who were returning from a mission to exterminate a hive of beast living in the center, found me, and brought me to live in their city. They were very kind to me, all of them, but especially a dwarf soldier know as Rojhn. He became as my father. I was raised as a human, but by the means of the dwarves. That was when I was just 14 years of age. Now, I am 42. I wish to repay my new-father’s honor, and will become a warrior renowned throughout the lands. What is your Character's ambitions?: To exterminate all vermin, from pirates, to monsters, to thieves, bandits and other corrupt peoples. I seek revenge for the destruction of my parents, and I wish to prevent others from being affected the way I was. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): I have two. First, obviously, a sword. After my mother’s and father’s demise, I must always be armed. I feel that the bandits who attacked my home will seek me out, eager to finish the job. Also, The extermination of monsters is made easier through the use of a blade. And then, there is the compass. As I was born on a ship, I am as comfortable at sea as I am on land. And, without a compass, it is very easy to get lost at sea. Also, compasses are equally useful when lost in a forest, or indeed anywhere. I never leave my abode without both of these items. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I can keep a level head at all times. If I step on a hidden pressure plate, I will not run screaming for my life. I will wait, and listen carefully; a booby trap is best discerned by listening, as they are often concealed and almost always make some sort of noise. If nothing happens, I will continue on my way. If, per say, a pile of powder kegs (sea-farer speak for TNT) happen to fall before me, I will run, fast but not blindly, and search for and opening or doorway in which to hide. If I am attacked by bandits, I will draw my sword rather than screaming. In any sort of situation, I will stop and think of the best way to deal with that situation. It is much more desirable to think than to run straight into a trap. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: I am loyal… but not stupid. I won’t stab you in the back, but I don’t trust anyone until they have proven themselves. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? 'Hey!' I shout. 'Leave him alone!' I run towards the two warriors. 'Ha!' one laughs. The other tosses a large, obviously full money-pouch in the air. As the first warrior punches the hobbit in the gut, I see red. This is wrong. My fist flies towards his head, and he staggers back, a purple bruise already spreading around his eye. I'm on the floor before I even know I been hit, and the punchs start flying. My vision begins to fade to black... But then, suddenly, the punches relent, and I'm being helped to my feet. I see the two warriors being held against a wall by two guards, and the halfling being consoled by a professional-looking officer. The man helping me to my feet looked at me kindly, but I think he knows that I started the fight. I sigh offer my hands toward him, for him to chain them. Starting a fight like this is probably punishable with a week in prison. But the man just smiles and shakes his head. 'Oh, forget it,' he says. 'You had good intentions. Besides, we're running a bit short of money...' I can't believe this. A fine. This is more than I dared hope for. I smile. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? 'Oh, thank you good sir, but I am not in need of anything at present. I will be sure to return here when I am!' The merchant smiles. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: 'Ahh!' I exclaim. 'What a find! This will do very nicely.' I am just drawing out the items, when a thought entered my mind. 'Oh, If this were my house, wouldn't I be angry if I found my iron gone?' I am reluctant to put them back, but put them back I do. It is the right thing. And just as well, too, for the owner of the house, a lumberman, came running out, waving his axe in the air and shouting 'Oi! Git out o' me 'ouse!' I stumbled backwards, and tried to explain my situation, but the man kept on running. So I fled, and he soon gave up the chase. 'Ah, well I thought.' 'Better no friends than one enemy.' Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Cursing myself for losing my compass, I don't notice the small cliff in front of me. After I have picked myself up, and after the initial surprise at finding a trading camp in the forest, I ask if I may trade a pile of animal skins I collected from hunting in the forest for a bowl of stew. Instead, I receive two steaks and an apple. These people are very kind, and, after I have explained my position they are more than happy lend me a compass. I am to wait in the nearest town, for these people will remain here for a few days, but they will eventually make their way their as well. Then we will meet, and I will return the compass. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: 'Bah. Bandit scum.' I spit on the floor, and strap my scabbard to my waist. 'When do we leave?' * * * That night, the night of the raid, I was sent forth as scout. I refused to stay with the main army, as I operate best in stealth. Suddenly, I catch a glint of something of to my right. Sword drawn, I sneak forward, using the trees as cover. I peer around a tree trunk, and see what caught my attention before. An arrow. Suddenly, several things connect in my mind. This arrow was obviously used to draw my attention. Which means that they know I'm here. Which means they know my position. And arrows are used by archers. This could only mean one thing. 'Ambush,' I groan. All this takes less than a second, but as the first arrow slams into my left shoulder, and the second into my right thigh, I know I have been here too long. I fall to the floor, and try to turn over. I groan as the shafts of both arrows snap, embedding the heads deeper into my flesh. The first thing I see is a blurred shape, concealed in the trees, and an arrow, aimed right at my heart. Bandits are rubbish shots, look at the arrows that hit me, but at this range he can't miss. He? That looks like a girl! Long blonde hair... slender arms... astounding grace... an elf, perhaps? No, not with those archery skills. Or lack of. I use the last of my effort to throw myself behind a tree. I hear running. 'This is the end.' I think. 'This is the end.' * * * I wake up in a soft bed, surrounded by soldiers. They greet me with a cheer. One steps forward. 'You didn't return after five minutes, the agreed time. We suspected that something was wrong, and so we went in. Saw two archers, took out one myself, the other ran off. And then we found you. Half dead, at least, two arrow wounds, paler than a ghost and sitting in a pool of blood. Oh, and then there were the bandits. Five o' them, and they looked like they thought you were pure gold. Anyway, doc says you is ready to go. You been out for two days now. He smiled, and I smiled back. I got out of bed, and was at the door when I turned back to him an said 'Hey, what about my reward?'

Application Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: SlayerOfBrooms How old are you?: 13 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Australia Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Definitely. I would be disappointed with a ‘B’ in English. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am the fifth shortest person in my class, have ginger/brown hair, love my computer, running/athletics, fencing, anything middle-ages, Lord Of The Rings (obviously!) etc. I also love collecting things, like crystals, gemstones, wooden boxes and small trinkets. Also, I love anything random, or of seeming unimportance. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I probably spend about 1-2 hours every weekday on Minecraft, and I am tiring of single player and so would spend all of that time on LOTC. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is stepping into someone else’s shoes, you create a character and then live as them, in their city, with their job, and their life etc. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: My roleplaying experience is very limited, although I fully understand the concept. What do you expect this server will be like?: I’m thinking that the server will be a copy of the world that the lord of the rings is set in, in Minecraft. I don’t really know how to explain it in any other way. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have not played on many servers, and they were not very good, as in, boring with hardly any PVP or anything interesting to do. LOTC looks a lot more promising. The servers are: Pitforge, PVP Pitforge, Mafiacraft, Keystone and The Battlecraft. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I solemnly swear to obey the laws and rules, which I have been set. How did you hear about us?: A friend of mine, Thrain_Ironmail was looking for good servers to play on as he was very bored with the ones he had. He was at my place at the time, and suddenly exclaimed ‘Wow! Oh, look at this!’ He had stumbled onto your website. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my second application. I have not changed it much, apart from taking out the villain application part. :( http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/52037-slayerofbrooms-application/ In-Character: Character Name: My name is Valinor Everloch. What Race are you?: I am a Mori’Quessir, one on the great race of elves that dwell within the caverns of the Menorcress. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I am of a pure bloodline, descended directly from the Immortal Mother Namiisae. I am of no sub-race. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): When I was a young boy, I was very happy. Well, as happy as a Mori can be. I was born into a rich family, with a high political position, with many followers, servants and admirers. But one day, the other Mori grew jealous of us. They plotted an attack, and destroyed our entire city. I fought bravely, but was given inadequate weapons to defend myself with. I was lucky, however, and survived. i was the only one. So, for a long time, I wandered the caverns, searching, searching for something; I did not know what. Back then, I was just a young lad, only 92. Only four years have passed since that dreadful day. At any rate, I eventually found and opening to the surface. Back then, when I first emerged from the caverns, the light stung my skin and blinded my eyes. But I grew accustomed to it, and my flesh began to change from grey to the pink of the native people. I have slowly built a life for myself, up here in Asulon. But I am still haunted by the events that occurred in my childhood. And so, I wish to destroy crime, through a course of non-violence, and one day eventually return to my homeland. What is your Character's ambitions?: To become the leader of the political empire, and abolish crime throughout the world. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool is a sword. It is simply a necessary protection, against bandits, thieves, and the monsters that crawl the street at night. And, as an elf with worse than usual archery skills, it is like a natural extension of my arm. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I am a very persuasive speaker. I can change people’s minds, stop a revolution, and even turn entire armies around just with words. This is why I believe I should become a politician. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: None Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? ‘Hey, you!’ I call. ‘Put him down!’ The warrior sneers at me, and continues to harass the halfling. ‘GUARDS!’ I cry. ‘GUAAAARDS!’ After the two me have fled, I proceed over to the hobbit, and make sure that he is alright. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I politely decline the man’s offer, and continue on my way. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I look around. This hut seems unoccupied, and so I take the items from the chest. I will probably sell the golden sword, they are worthless as weapons as they are of a soft metal and break easily. It’ll be worth more melted down again. And then there are the iron bars. These I can use, although I will not make anything with them yet unless I need them for something in particular, later. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I stumble into the trading camp, and after the initial shock of finding a trading camp this far out into the forest, ask if they have any food to spare. It turns out they are very kind, and I receive a hearty meal. Fully nourished and healed, I ask if the nearest town is far away. It is still some miles, however, and so the traders allow me to stay in their company until they arrive there. I promise to repay their food, and along the way I manage to hunt and catch several wild cows and sheep, which I give to the traders who supplied me with food. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: ‘I’m sorry, but I must refuse this offer’, I tell the captain. As much as I dislike bandits, I cannot harm another living person. I turn away, and follow another long, winding road back around the outskirts of the town. Then, I walk down the road and continue on my way.

Application Note: My character is a villain. It will be impossible to play on LOTC unless he is so. Therefore, I have attached a villain application on the bottom of this one. This will save both my time and yours. If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first application. In-Character: Character Name: My name is Valdor. Valdor Everloch. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): As a young boy, I was an outsider. I always felt different, and I even went so far as to feel this emotion referred to as ‘love’. For my parents. For my noble race. For myself. Most of the other Mori cannot even begin to comprehend the meaning of the word. I believe my parents felt it too, and so, with a group of followers, we descended deeper into the earth, and eventually found a new cavern, vast and plentiful in the resources that we needed to survive. There, we were happy, and did not fear constantly for our lives. This was a huge relief, as the Mori are constantly afraid of treachery and deceit, from others wanting your high ranking position, from jealous enemies, from the savage monsters which dwell in the caves. We were satisfied. But it was not to last. One day, the walls of our city were broken. A group of Dwarven miners, who were searching for riches, tunneled into our main cavern. We believed that it was a plot, from the other Mori, to kill us off before we could grow to power, and so we destroyed them. They all died without mercy... but one escaped, and fled back to his kingdom. He told of a group of savage monsters, who were merciless and ruthless. And he told how his brothers died, murdered in the mines. These creatures were threats. They stood in the way of countless riches. They had to be exterminated. A group of warriors, led by the king himself, attacked our homes without warning. My parents were killed before me. My friends and companions fell all around me, and so I ran. After a long while, a saw a light before me. I staggered towards it, and emerged into a forest of tall trees. I looked over my shoulder, and saw a huge city, towering far over the tops of the forest. I was had emerged in Asulon. I was sad, but also full of rage. Not the red-hot anger that causes nothing but your own downfall, but a cold, calculating fury. I would seek revenge for my parents. I would have it. But I had to be patient... I was very young, just ninety-two when I left the caverns, and only four years have passed since. Then, the light stung my skin, and blinded my eyes, but I persevered, and grew accustomed to it. My skin took on the pale pink of the native people, and I managed to blend in. I always wear armor, despite this being not the Mori way. It is an essential protection… I could not look more human. It is the perfect disguise - and is disgusting. However, it is necessary. And it will be worth it. Oh yes, it will be worth it... What is your Character's ambitions?: My main ambition is to kill the king, for the reasons I have discussed. Then, I will strive to become one of the Dark Brotherhood. They are everything I stand for. But, more importantly, I will become a bounty hunter, and assist others in taking revenge for the mistakes or wrongdoings of those around them. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool is a sword. It is simply a necessary protection, against bandits, guards, and the monsters that crawl the street at night. And then, they are the tools that I use for my profession. As a bounty hunter, I need a fast way to dispose of my targets. Swords are perfect. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I am an excellent raider. I have discovered many ways of forcing looks and doors, and am capable of evading notice and detection. This is very helpful while I am trying to assassinate a target, or acquire an object of value for a client. It also means I have no difficulty in obtaining the items which I desire or need. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: None… or, at least, none that I would tell you. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I look at the small Halfling, and suddenly feel a strong surge of empathy. I know what helplessness feels like. This has to stop. I run at the warriors, and, as I draw my sword, shout ‘Hey!’ As I bring my weapon down across the warrior’s helmet, it barely makes a scratch, but the effect I wanted is obtained. As the warrior stumbles back, he releases the Halfling, and I run down the road as fast as I can. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the hobbit scramble into the bush on the edge of the road. The warriors don’t notice this, though, as their eyes are fixed on me. Eventually, the warriors tire of this chase, and turn back to the Halfling, only to find him gone. Luckily for me, too, as the guards were closing in on me. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? ‘What do you have?’ I ask. ‘What do you want?’ the merchant replies. I begin my list. ’20 apples, 15 beef, a map of the city, one diamond, a stack of iron, a full set of iron armour, an iron pickaxe and two iron swords.’ ‘Oooh, that lot’l cost ya!’ Smiled the merchant. ‘Have you got it all?’ I question him.’Only ‘ave half a stack o’ iron, and only nine beef. Also, no diamonds Won’t ‘ave ‘em in for weeks.’ I drop a bag of minas on his counter. The merchant smiled again, and drew the items from a chest in a back room. As I left, I considered whether it was worth it. That was every last minas, the pay from months of bounty hunting. But I needed these items. I would earn it all back later. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I look around. This hut seems unoccupied, and so I take the items from the chest. I will probably sell the golden sword, they are of a soft metal and break easily. I promise to repay their food, and along the way I manage to hunt and catch several wild cows and sheep, which I give to the traders who supplied me with food.x You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: As a bounty hunter, I greet this news happily. Just one bandit would provide me with a week worth of minas. However, killing the bandits will be difficult. I am just one man, after all. So, for the first time ever, I decide to join with the guards, instead of against them. I figure it will be worth it. Villain Application Info MC Name: SlayerOfBrooms Character Name: Valdor Everloch Character Race: Mori’Quessir Have you read, and are familiar with all server rules and villain rules? Yes. Are you sure? 100% Positive. Links to any previous villain applications (for reference): This is my first villain app. What SPECIFIC evils does your character plan on committing? Please list the number of each Evil you would like to be considered for, and specifically when/why you need them: 1 Murder type A The king killed my parents. Therefore, I must kill him. I may take 1000 years, but it will happen. (I can’t really give a specific time for this, but it is going to take a little while…) 2 Raiding. I have no interest in getting a job, therefore, it is necessary that I raid. Raiding is also my form of entertainment- it’s like a challenge. But, more importantly, it provides me with everything I need. I could steal a diamond sword to kill an enemy, a pile of food to heal my broken bones, a stack of gems to pay a debt, or a heap of blocks to build a house in the forest. I live to raid. And I’m not bad at it, either. 3 Murder type B If I have an enemy, he will need to be disposed of. If soldiers are chasing me, I will need to defend myself. And sometimes, to protect the people or things you care about, you must eradicate those that stand in your way. For your beliefs, for your political position (which is more important than anything for the Mori), for the city in which you live, for the people you love… sometimes, murder is just necessary. And, as I am a bounty hunter by profession, my targets will need to be disposed of… Biography (Between 2-5 paragraphs. No walls of text, please): As a young boy, I was an outsider. I had emerged in Asulon. Question Section - Answer with as much detail as necessary Why does your character do what he/she does? What are his/her motives? I want to kill the king, because he killed my parents. That is as simple as can be. I will not rest until he is dead. It is revenge. Then, my other goal is to join the Dark Brotherhood. They are everything I stand for. What moral boundaries does your character adhere to, if any? To kill a child is the worst crime that can be committed. They are still too young, and have not fully chosen the road that they will take in life. Also, to harm anyone who is incapable of defending himself or herself, or is too old or injured, is almost as bad. To do either, would be to label myself as a monster equal to the king. What are some notable strengths and weaknesses of your character? What might cause him/her to falter? Include things such as temptations, addictions, physical handicaps, etc. I am not very good with a bow and arrow. I am very inaccurate, and am not fast enough to register a target. And then, there are my melee skills. I have none. Unless I can assassinate my target in seconds, my only option is to run away. Dwarves, because of their rugged strength, I find particularly difficult. Also, I have a tendency to continue, despite hunger or injuries, for many days. This make me vulnerable to ambushes, and bandits, as I may continue on for a long while, while on little health and too hungry to heal myself. What role will your character play in Asulon? What separates them and makes them unique and original among villains? I am a service to the people. Haven’t you wanted to take revenge, and yet found yourself unwilling, or unable, as you are not a villain? I will do what you cannot. And you will be guilty of nothing. Apart from the people who are my targets, the only person I wish to hurt is the king. But, any who get in my way must first fall. Is your character loyal or a backstabber? Does he/she trust others in return? I trust no one. But it doesn’t help me to tell other people that. And am I a backstabber? That depends upon whether you have done anything to me. I will not hurt you without reason. Why do you as a player wish to and deserve to play a villain? I have not proven myself in any way. But unless I am a villain, I am nothing. It will be impossible to play on Lord Of The Craft unless my character is a villain. Open Response - Answer at least four out of five listed. Do not powergame, metagame, or do anything else illegal or unrealistic. Each scenario is designed with no particular objective in mind and is open ended deliberately. Assume your character is in each position, regardless of their normal situations: A middle aged man, a young wife, and a small male child are walking down the King’s Road together. The women walks with a long staff, and the man appears to have a scabbard at his side. As I silently observe the small party from behind a tree, I consider my options. To openly attack would be risky; the man appears to be armed and my health is low. Also, what would it achieve? I would not kill the boy, that goes against my vows. He would return to the city, and tell the officers of my location. Perhaps… perhaps they are headed for their home… perhaps the man is armed as a precaution against bandits, and maybe they have finished their errand and headed for home. I am in need of resources. I think I will follow them, at least until I see where they are headed. You hear knocking on your door and go to answer. It turns out to be an angry looking woman with a large human behind her. She is telling you that you owe taxes to King ___ and must pay within the fortday. ‘Damn the king’, I spit. The woman gasps. ‘That is treason!’ I shrug. ‘I could arrest you on the spot for that!’ She calls. The man behind her growls, the sound more animal than human. ‘Try me’, I challenge. I was expecting the woman to storm into my house, or at least send in the man behind her, but she does neither. As the cry of ‘GUARDS!’ echoes around the city, I know that I made the wrong decision. I sprint past the woman, and out of the doorway, and I almost make it but as I jump down the last of the stone steps the man lashes out sideways and catches me in the temple. I stumble, but manage to stagger away, crippled but still faster than the heavily armoured guards. I have to keep going, the guards will recognize me and kill me on sight. I eventually collapse under a tree in the forest,11 alive, but barely. The man must’ve had a knife hidden up his sleeve, because I feel faint and can see blood oozing onto the ground. I curse. Argh! All my possessions, as well as my minas, are in there! Well, there as good as gone. For now, I just need to conserve my strength. Sitting in Dawn’s Bakery, you hear two men talking in hushed voices upstairs. Sneaking up the stairs, you see a man robed in black and a Warden. The man is revealing Undead plans to a Warden. You can’t tell if the man in black is betraying the Undead, or if it is vice-versa. I decide to not interfere. It is of no consequence to me whether he is betraying the Undead’s plans of vice versa. And to pester either of them about it, or even show that I heard them, would most likely cause either or both of them to attack and, almost certainly, kill me. Two Guard tries to break up a fight between your acquaintance and two Goblins. Your friend slays one of the Guards as he approaches, causing the other Guard as well as the Goblins to unsheath their arms. I think about the situation. My friend is no villain, if he got into a fight I’d have to defend him. The two goblins would be easy, they’re ever worse at melee than me. But the guard… he’s another story. So I try a different tactic. I throw a bag of minas on the floor at the guard’s feet. ‘Stay out of this’ I growl. The guard shrugs, and leaves without a word. The goblins stare at me, then at each other, and then at my friend. One leaves. The other lingers for just one second. ‘He owes us money’ he spits. ‘We’ll get you, one day.’ Then he is gone. As you turn the corner into a dimly lit alley, a pair of young female halflings instantly run up to you. They are begging for a donation of either minas or food. I smile. I had a quart-stack of bread I was saving for later, but it will go to better use here. I give it to the halflings, and their faces light up with evident joy. My smile grows. ‘Get along now, young ones. And watch out for bandits!’
