He was picked up by a bandit group hoping to get a new member into their guild. Ruca was forced into an environment where physical abilities triumphed mental abilities. Ruca quickly learned the art of killing, and was praised by the guild. But one day, the leader of the guild was killed and was replaced with a more unmerciful leader. Then one day instead of letting all the women and children free after a raid, the leader told Ruca and the other bandits to kill them. Ruca was the only one who denied this order for his pride would not let him kill the innocent. The leader ordered that all the bandits turn on Ruca. Ruca fought them off until they were too much for Ruca to handle. He fled for a nearby forest and kept running until he collapsed in the forest where he felt would be his grave, but woke to the surprise of an elf attending to his wounds. He attempted to lift his head, but could not. The strange elf met Ruca eye to eye, and asked him what he was doing in the forest with stab wounds in his stomach. Ruca answered with a remark that shut the man up. He told the elf, "When something is wrong, those with the capability to do something also have the responsibility to do so". A small child walked into the room, with a glass bottle filled with a strange liquid, pinkish in color. The elf man told Ruca to drink the liquid. At first, Ruca was nervous about drinking the liquid, but he knew that he had no other choice. Besides, this man took him into his home. Why would he try to poison him. The liquid had a tangy taste to it. Slowly, his muscles and limbs regained feeling. The small boy walked in again about an hour later. With him, he carried another vile of a darker shade of red liquid. As soon as the liquid touched Ruca's tongue his mouth was left with an unsatisfying taste. The liquid was bitter and sour, yet addictive. When he finished the whole vile, he felt a surge of adrenaline and a regain of strength. Ruca got up and searched for the boy's father. Ruca was curious about these viles of liquid and there regenerative side effects and wanted to know how to make them. When he found the elf man, he was outside shooting arrows at a target 100 meters away. After the man shot his last arrow, he and Ruca walked over to the target. The target had three arrows in the bulls-eye, each splitting the arrow that was shot before it. Ruca brings up the subject of the viles and their contents. The man tells Ruca that they are potions made from ingredients in the nether. Ruca asked to learn how to brew these so called potions and learn where to find their contents. After 4 years of mastering the art of potion brewing. The man and Ruca had developed a bond that was strong enough to withstand the sharpest blade. The man offered to teach Ruca how to be successful with a bow. After 10 years of blood, sweat, tears, Ruca had mastered the bow. The elf told Ruca that he had become too good of a student. He could not teach him anymore. His level of training was too intense for the elf. The elf had tought Ruca everything he could; Ruca had surpassed his master. The young boy who used to attend to Ruca's wound had become a strong young man. Whenever Ruca would look into the young man's eyes, they would get caught in a trance reading each other's thoughts. Trying to figure out what the other was going to do. That night, Ruca woke to the surprise of the young man pointing a knife in his direction. The young man threw the knife, but Ruca was faster. He sprang into action and through is ax at the once peaceful boy's head. Ruca ran away from the house as quickly as possible, fearing that he had dishonored himself. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I would first ask the warrior’s why they are harassing a defensless person in the first place. I would try and negotiate a peaceful solution before I have to result to using my superior stragety and strength to defeat them. Then return the stolen goods back to the halfling, but I keep any utilities from the thieves that have any value to me. I would give the halfling a sword because he/she lacks a weapon to defend its self. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I would tell the man "I do not need any of your wares at the given time, but I would be happy to help you today. What is it that you need help with. I would be happy to oblige." The man tells me that he needs some iron. I tell the man " I would be happy to help you get your iron." After I get the iron for him, I will sell the iron for a low price. I will then use the money that I got from the man with the wares to buy some potion supplies. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: My character would leave some fish in the chest because the owner of the hut looks like he lacks food. I would leave him a iron sword, for he looks like he favors the sword, but lacks the proper materials to make an effective one. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I would offer to exchange some minerals and potions for food. I would assist them in any way I could, but after I am done; we would go our separate ways and hope to never encounter them. If they did not agree to my terms I would pretend to leave and set up an elaborate plan to distract them to a certain point and take the supplies that I needed to survive and leave. Hoping they won’t look to seek revenge. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard has gathered, and is asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?: My character immediately offers to help. I would fire my first arrow at the leader of the bandits. Then I would jump into the middle of battle and swiftly kill each of the startled bandits. After the battle I would go to the party leader and request my reward. He would give me my reward and I would pack up my things and leave the village for a few days and come back to check out on the news to see if they still need my help or if they will survive on their own.
