Unfortuantly, his father was killed in a war against the orcs, which inspired a hatred of Orcs in Dimli. For years later he trained to join in the army and fight in the valiant war against the Orcs. Now he is prepared to do anything to get his revenge. He has been wondering the realms of Asulon looking for a clan to call his own. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Dimli was born the son of a wealthy soldier in the dwarf’s army. When people would look at him, they would see a medium sized dwarf that had brownish blond hair that was worn short. He had a short beard and laugh lines around his blue eyes. He was not skinny, but not fat or muscled either. He lived in a large estate without much care for the outside world. His mother was a worried lady that was constantly in fear that Dimli’s father would die in one of the wars that they fought in. Dimli saw little of the other races of Asulon and learned none of their lore or legends. When he was a young lad of about 20, his father entered a war against the Orcs. Dimli was exposed too much anti-Orc propaganda during the war, and soon fell for the governments information. During the long period when his father was gone to war, Dimli was able to leave the house and explore his realm. He lived in a large Dwarf city so he was exposed to some of the dwarfs’ greatest customs. Though he felt the normal pull of greed for gems and riches that most Dwarves felt, he was never one to actively seek them. In his naiveté, he felt that the money would come to him. During the period where his father was at war, he traveled to many of the breweries and pubs in the city. He loved the casual atmosphere around these places that he did not always feel at his luxurious home. But the main thing that Dimli wanted for was the feeling of battle. That feeling had always run through his father’s side of the family, so it was no wonder that Dimli began looking at the army as an option. But Dimli knew that he was not strong enough to join at the moment, and dismissed the feeling. Eventually he fell in with a group of petty thieves that loitered around his city. They brought a feeling of excitement to his life. So he joined their group for a bit, but quickly became bored. They robbed people of just small things, and he became uninterested. Besides, he felt that getting caught might be the end of any hope of a military career he might have. Instead he plotted larger schemes that involved the other races. He had no experience with any of the other races, so he found it easy to plot against them. It was a sort of game for him, not real, for he never expected to carry out any of his plots. After several long years, the war with the Orcs finally finished. Although the dwarves won the war, Dimli’s mother received a letter that told of her husband’s death. Despite the glory of dying in battle with an axe in his hand, Dimli’s mother still locked herself away for several long days. In those few days, Dimli’s mind began to twist against the entirety of the Orc race. He knew nothing of the Orcs as people, so hate came easily for him. In a few days, his mother came from her chambers. When she emerged, sad and distraught, Dimli swore and oath to himself. He swore that he would destroy the race that had killed his father. No longer was Dimli the carefree son of a soldier. His family had much money saved up to support the family, so that was not the concern. Instead, his main concern was finding a way to deliver his vengeance. In that aspect, he turned his eyes to the dwarven army, just as his father had before. In the effort to get in, he trained his mind to survive through the horrors of war. He became athletically stronger and mentally fit. His mother kept crying, but some people wondered if it was for Dimli’s dead father, or for what her son was becoming. He had shut his emotion away and turned into a hard cold Dwarf who spent his time plotting instead of playing. Some people remarked that he was like a lightning bolt, quick, heartless, and deadly. After several long years of training, he feels that he is ready to begin pursuit of his destiny in the army. Those above Dimli in ranks must beware, for he is ready to do whatever it takes to reach his needed position. What is your Character's ambitions?: Dimli aspires to destroy the Orcs and become a large figure in the army. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Dimli is best with an Axe, but is also very good at using a sword. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? His ability to focus on one goal is his best attribute. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Dimli watches the scene from a distance. He does not believe that the Halfling is worth enough for him to intervene instantaneously. So he begins to weigh his options. The two armed guards will probably have money that they have already collected. This would provide a good amount of money for him to work with. Along with this, he believes that a nice side benefit will be getting the Halflings gratitude. He may be someone higher in the court that he could have relations with. He decides that the Halfling is probably worth saving after all, despite the fact that he is not a Dwarf. So he draws his sword and approaches the two guards. He believes that attacking the guards could provide problems if they are well equip. So he tries to scare the two villains off. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Dimli regards him harshly. He would prefer to keep his money inside of the dwarven economy, and he also does not trust this fellow. So he decides to simply turn away without saying goodbye and walks away. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Though the chest is tempting, Dimli does not take the bait. His military mind realizes that this could be the house of a deadly person or creature, and that it may also be a trap. So he walks away, searching the wood for enemies all the while. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Dimli responds warily. Automatically, he does not trust the people in the trading post. He understands, however, that he needs their help if he is hungry. So he walks into the trading camp with his axe ready to be drawn. He hesitantly asks for food, but is careful of all of the people there. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Realizing that this is an opportunity to raise himself up with money, Dimli joins the party. He is not scared of bandits in the least, and feels that he can crush them easily with his group. As soon as the errand finishes, however, Dimli bids a hasty retreat from the party.
