  1. I Olyvarr_Lance_Grimbul wish to serve Oupavoq as a part of the Polemistis.
  2. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Amene How old are you?: 15, I will be 16 in about 11 months :) Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in Central Time-Zone/United States of america Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I have a firm grasp of the English language, and my grammar is exquisite. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I highly enjoy minecraft, this game is a great passion to me. I am a die-hard sports fan (Go Broncs!) and a generally nice fellow. My hobbies include video-games, sports, drawing and sculpting. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I could spend maximum around 30 hours a week. I'm busy with a few sport activities or out with friends for a day or two, but could easily fit the 30 hour mark. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to my current understanding is a form of gameplay where you/me get to play as a person we create within our own minds. We use these created players to interact in-game with others and scenarios that play out as we go along, and react to those scenarios based upon our characters background/history. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I don't have much roleplaying experience. I have played on other Minecraft servers where RP was present however it was not of much relevance to anyone on the server. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is when you take information from outside the gaming experience and you/I use it within game to approach a scenario in a certain way. It is the use of information others would not have any realistic way of knowing in-game. Like if a nameplate read, "BigBlueBob" I would not type in IC chat "Hail! One of big blue bob decent, what's your name?" In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is when you use the information inside meta-gaming to your own benefit. This is when the cliche "My parents were ravaged by orcs and killed so I trained for my whole life to learn to kill orcs in one punch... so you're dead now." scene comes along. Using un-relevent or sideways information to force an outcome. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it will be a good time for everyone. Where we all can really hone in on our RP skills and use them to the benefit of everyone for the sake of having fun. I also expect a good active staff that is well engaged to the players and truly care about the lively-hood and outcome of the server. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have gone from server to server seeking something just like what this server has to offer. Sadly, none have had what I'm looking for up until this point here. I left those servers due to lack of RP, poor or un-educated staff members or the common troll. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have, all of them seem reasonable and acceptable. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I promise to abide by said rules, and laws of the server, forum and teamspeak. How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: My brother Grimbul (Watter_Bottle) is applying. I felt that it would be fun if we played the same server. If any mods/admin/anyone would like to speak in TS with both of us at the same time to prove we are not the same person, please just ask. We are happy to oblige. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have not made an application before. Though I'm sure I will be subject to I hope my first try is a winner! Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): In-Character: Character Name: Grimbal What Race are you?: Dwarf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Cave Dwarf Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): [Grimbal's age currently is 48] At the age of 26 Grimbal was a damn tough Cave Dwarf, the kind who always had a little grime on his face, a fresh wound and rugged leather skin all around. Although not the strongest Dwarf in the group, he was one of much earned respect and a few times, feared. He had dark eyes that rested deep within his skull, a lumpy bold nose that protruded from the center of his face adding tone to his features. He had a long dark brown beard woven into two long strands that extended down to his center mass and an upper body tone noteable to those seeking to harm him. Being a good excavator, thanks to his fathers teachings, he was selected first and head of the group when exploring caves for the first time.. a very dangerous but rewarding task. Although tough skin and a rugged body doesn't block out sword swings or the pierce of an arrow, it made for one prideful and confident Dwarf with an electric air about him, a certain strength in his step that many admired. Grimbal was about one day after his logging shift was over heading home to greet his parents and retire to his bed and books for the day. Approaching the home he noticed something was off.. he couldn't place his finger on it. Then it struck him; The front door was open- 'nothing to worry about' he thought 'It's a hotter atmosphere this time of year' but when he entered the house, he dropped everything. "What 'n' theh 'ell!" to his amazement his parents WEREN'T killed by marauding blood thirsty orcs! He sighed in relief. "Well what's the matter son?" asked his father. "I'm just glad you two aren't killed, now I don't have to train the rest of my life to avenge you." he explained hastily. His mother chuckled "You kidder, you." he concluded the talk with a smile and continued up to bed. .... Later that night .... "Well breaking in 'ere was easy 'nuff. Where's 'ey at!?" In a hasted whisper tone "Okay easy now.. easy!" "Well I'm trying damnit! We should have brought more men!" "Just place the bag made of a leather cap over his head and lets go" Grimbal awakes to being on his knees, with a bag over his head. He feels the cold stone around him- unfamiliar and older feeling. He feels the presence of others standing behind him and notices the glint of a pained window on the wall. After a few minutes of cursing and kicking a man walks into the room, he seems to stand in the area with light on the floor- was this interrogation? What could they possibly want? The mans tone was bold "Stand him up. That is a humiliating position for our new recruit." Confused, Grimbal states "I'm no recruit of yours. Whatever you want, or whatever you are part of I want no hand, no effort into it." The man releases a low chuckle. "I am the learder of the Black Hand, you may have heard of us? You see Grimbal, you don't know us but we surely know who you are, and we want you. We have many of our associates within a variety of places, as I'm sure you know, and we value courage and leadership. We are seeking those with the will to get things done in this pathetic society of Asulon and the strength to make changes!" His speech concluded, followed by a pause, he knew the next question. Grimbal tilted his head one way and smiled under his leather cap bag; "Thanks to your little group, and what they did to my previous home of Aegis I lost my grandfather. But nevermind that, the man was old. (255 he remembered) We are here and I want gone, so what happens now?" The question the mysterious man expected. "Seeing we have yet to remove your bag, you know nothing of our organization. Just the fact that it is alive and well- we will return you home, spread the word." And with that a guard or interrogator behind him bashed him over the head with the hilt of a sword taking him out, cold. He awoke at the gate of Alrus. Fearful of the Black hand and ready to move out of the house, Grimbal got a job cutting down trees, an easy peaceful job- no black hand, no problem. One day while at the local pub drinking with a few of his co-workers, a human courier came in with an urgent message. "Well 'm far t' drunk t' reeaad THAT m' br'thar, whass it say?" They courier cleared his lungs and stood tall. "Dear Grimbal, we are proud to announce that you have a baby brother! In our exitment we almost forgot all about you- Too bad you were kidnapped by the black hand and missed it, but you probably didn't want to be there" Grimbal smiled and let the information sink into his brain for a second... then "Bloody 'ell! Speak louder not a soul in Asulon can hear yeh!" A long awkward pause between the two. "Thank the Diety and all original races; I've got a brothar!" He smashed his large beer container on the table in excitement breaking the fragile glass, he stood up and stumbled home. Oddly enough he stayed with the job of logging, after taking liking to it, for the next 22. Though he is ready to go and greet his brother who he hears is out on his own. What are your Character's ambitions?: To meet up with his brother and assist him on the trials of life. He plans to work within the world knowing danger is all around and use that knowledge to his advantage. And possibly use it to save his younger brother from time to time. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Grimbals favorite tool is the Axe. He has used this for work and to him has proven to be a very effective multi-tool. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? My characters most skilled talent is logging trees. He also has minor experience in becoming a carpenter. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, click here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/51343-how-to-obtain-your-skin-screenshot/): http://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/dwarf-warrior-962357/ Other Information about your Character: Like most Cave Dwarfs he lacks farming skills, along with skill in bows, fishing or swords. To Grimbal an axe is all he needs to make it, but he may quickly be proven wrong. Grimbal is not the strongest of them. He has a broad shouldered upper mass with good, tone, meat slabs spanned generously across his body Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Grimbal would observe the two as he moved to them. Although intimidating at first, he could see they were weaker sort, and young. He looked at the men giving them a hard look, they both draw attention to the Dwarf, "Well?" one of them says. Grimbal remains silent. The other man looking confused "If you wont talk then remove yourself from the situation, Dwarf, we have some uhh.. business.. to attend to." Grimbal can see the two men are obviously weak, hungry perhaps. Who would pick on a halfling much less demand money from them unless they were desperate? In a firm tone "Here's th' deal boys. You two are going to walk away, or you will deal with a VERY angry dwarf." Although he isn't the angry type, what did these men know, he thought. One man stepped back "Your scare tactics wont work with us. We are getting that five minas and leaving on the next boat outa here." Grimbal couldn't help but laugh, these men were truly desperate. He pulled out 10 minas and tossed it into the woods about 30 yards. The two men scramble after one another to get the minas and yelled "Next time, just ask! Ahahah." Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Grimbals' eyes study the man. "I'm just getting familiar with the area, thanks." The merchant smiles and continues with his business. Grimbal is drawn to one item in particular, on the shelf hanging is a large cooked chicken. "How much for that beauty?" The merchant grinned slightly. "Free. That halfling you helped on the way here, me and him are well acquainted. Thought I should return the favor." Grimbal knew the chicken cost more than 10 minas, but what price can you place on life? Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: As a Cave Dwarf iron is nothing of interest. A gold sword is appealing but what would he do with such a rare item, and if he took it, and someone reports it to a local guardsman who just happens to see him with it, it would be taken, and Grimbal charged with thievery. He chooses to leave the chest and shack, when he turns around, he sees a small man and then it hits him. This was the shack of the halfling from a few days ago! "Well 'ey there! Th's'll look suspicious but 'm really not here to rob ye!" the halfling still great-full to Grimbal responds "It's no issue. Here, take this golden sword. I've no use of it... Have a nice day!" This being his que to leave, Grimbal takes action on the opportunity and left with a warm feeling, and a nice new golden sword. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Grimbal knows hunger, he is no stranger to being without.. but not for this long, and for how much longer could he survive like this? "Look, I'm not g'nna dally, I need food. NOW. Take this gold sword in trade for something, please sir." The look on the traders face was nothing but surprise, before he could get the words out quick enough he knew he had hit the jackpot. "Yes yes come in we have lots of food. Just sit right here and I'll inspect that gold sword of yours hehehaHAHA. *ehhem*" Grimbal thought to himself, a Dwarf should never go too long without a good meal. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Having confronted plenty of thugs in his lifetime, Grimbal thought that this couldn't be much different. Although this town wasn't any home to him, he accepts the offer though it's dangerous. Grimbal packs up his gear and merges with the guard at the gate. "What've we got 'ere boys?" The men turn and look, one man, the leader it seemed says "We have about 5 bandits terrorizing the road up ahead. We have 150 minas in it for you, we have to get this trade rout open up again or we'll be cut off from our main food supplier." With this new information, Grimbal felt better about the offer. He and the Guardsmen set out to take down the bandits with force- an angry dwarf and his axe are a fearsome foe.
