Meta-gaming: When you yourself use information known out of your players life and use it to your player's advantage when there was no way your rp character could have known that. Power-emoting: I think power-emoting is when you give your character an action or ability that is not possible or highly unrealistic or impossible to be able to defend against, for example, He jumps 20 feet and 360s and cuts off his enemies head. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Roland Areni Current Age: 23 Sub-race (if any): Southerons Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was born into a below average family in the Industrial City of Aldersberg. I never knew my mother because she died in child birth. Most people would be upset about this but my feelings were indifferent about this. My father was slightly known for his above-average talent of a tailor but it was shadowed by the big shot clothing merchant/tailor down the road who took all the business. My father owned a small tailoring store where mostly friends and family took their pity on us. We only had enough money earned from the store to pay taxes on our house and the store so father always had to go out and hunt for food. It was a hard living considering the game outside the city wasn't always good and my father was less than adequate as a huntsman. When I was about 8 my father brought me into the family business and tough me how to sew and tailor clothes and it turned out I had quite a flair for this. My fingers were quick and nimble and this came up to be very useful. Around 10 years old I discovered that I had quite a nack for being a tailor. I could easily sew things together in near record timing. I even went around town (mostly to the sketchy neighborhoods) to help make soe more money. I knew my father would not want me to do this because he cares about me and doesn't want anything bad to happen in those bad places but I was a smart kid and kept it secret. I did this for a couple years secretly to help out my dad pay the taxes. I would sneak into my father's strongbox and place everything I earned that day. This all worked well until I turned 14 and my father caught on to my side business. He took me by the arm, yanked me to my room and told me "Roland I'm going to tell you once and only once, do not go to those places, I work hard to keep this family on the nicer side of town and you better be thankful" He was a little harsh for some reason and he was rarely harsh on me. I ponderd why he even got angry in the first place. But evidently I felt I should keep on doing side business tailoring to help make extra money. Luckily I was always smooth and persuasive when I need to be. "Father I saw you struggling and I didn't want us to fall into debt and have to leave. I always made sure I was safe and was ready to run if i needed to." I persuaded him even though none of this was true because in all honesty the places I went to did have some shady characters and I really could've gotten hurt. He forgave me and that was that. I went on to keep pulling off these shows but instead of sneaking the coin into my father's strongbox, I kept them for myself. I carried on with my tricks for a couple more years until 16 and my father suffered a serious back injury preventing him from hunting. We both then realized that it was time for me to learn how to hunt. He took me outside the city and we did simple archery techniques to try and ease me into shooting a bow. This distracted me from my magic for awhile and the bow grew on me. It became a hobby of mine and also another means of coin. I realized the reason that my father always struggled with hunting was because of how he approached the lands and where he waited. I needed to ease on into the lands at night when more animals came out and I needed to blend with the shadows. This resulted into more meat for the family and some for me to sell on the side for coin which I also kept for myself. When I was 18 I had a life changing experience. I was walking through the streets while trying to sell spare deer meat from the night before and I eavesdropped on two rich men talking about the capital Abresi. It sounded exciting and full of opportunity. I realized that I was bored of the simple, hard life of a poor man, I wanted to go out and get rich. The thought of it filled my mind with dreams of wealth and fame. I had a huge life decision ahead of me, should I leave my father to pursue my dream or stay home and provide for him. It took me a year to decide but I came to a decision. I must move on with my life, and move to a city full of opportunities. I packed up with my father's bow and dagger for myself with some supplies and coin. Then pulled out my box of coin, jewels, rings, etc. and left that for my father with a note attached saying Dear Father, I'm sorry to tell you this but I had to pursue my life and move to Abresi. I left you my coin I've been collecting for years and that should support you for the rest of your life, just don't do anything stupid. I didn't have the guts to tell you this in person and I'm sorry for that. I hope that one day I can come back a wealthy, famous man that would make you proud, but for now I guess we will have to wait. I love you Father and I will write if I can. Love, Roland I've been working as a tailor's apprentice and make decent pay and I'm looking forward to maybe opening up my own shop to make my own money and to maybe one day make my father proud. Ambitions for the Future: Roland wants to become rich anyway he can, he wants to be accepted into higher society and be known around cities as a renowned person. Also he aspires to one day return to his father showing him that he made it in the world. Personality: Roland is a very wise-cracking, persuasive man who can always improvise. He wants to make this impression that he is an upcoming rich man even though he is barely average. He is an exaggerator who likes to make things he does bigger than it really is and is dishonest about a lot of things like his past. Skills: Roland is has the average skill set as an average person other than three things. He is a more than average tailor which he learned form his father, he acquired the talent of being able to use the bow efficiently and deadly, and finally his unknown talent of being a dishonest pickpocket. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Roland is about 6'1" and wears simple clothes that he made himself out of cow hide. He has a little cut in the front of his hair from when slipped out hunting. His hair is a mocha brown which is cut short . Any other details you wish to share about your character: http://imgur.com/gLe24ff-Picture of skin Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: Roland would ponder about the situation. Thinking about whether or not to get involved because he has heard stories, this man could've been an assassin and if Roland intervenes he could be the potential assassin's next target. But finally Roland builds up to courage to call for guards. "Guards come quick!: Roland shouts to the nearby guards. The guards come sprinting over but not quick enough, the dark figure quickly turned around and unsheathes his midnight black blade which seemed to be containing the very souls that it had taken. He sprung towards Roland who swiftly dove out of the way avoiding a fatal stab but still getting sliced pretty well across his ribs. The man must have felt pretty content because he started to snicker at the blood dripping from Roland's shirt. He turned around and found himself face to face with two guards, who were obviously untrained rookies. Realizing he was caught he jolted forward knocking away the guards and escaping. "I need a doctor...please" begged Roland. Everything started to blur and he passed out.... Waking up later in a hospital Roland was lucky he escaped with his life. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: Roland was curious about this situation. Should he do something? He decided he would but would handle it "diplomatically". "Hey buddies" Roland calls out. The two bandits, who looked no older than 19 and were struggling with the weight of the heavy armor and weaponry, were startled by the voice. Roland slowly walked towards them in a straight forward, military manner hoping to fool these boys into thinking he was some sort of authority figure. "It was reported that you two were harassing this man, is that true?" "Wait are you a guard?" the boys asked shakily. "What do you think?" Asked Roland in a stern voice. "We were just kidding, were just boys we can't go to jail" Roland stared them in the eyes and then looked at the old man, giving him a wink, and says "Move along boys or you're arrested." The two boys scuttled away unaware that they were just outwitted by a simple tailor 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). "I'm looking for some red cloth" Roland states to the man "Got any?" The man nods and looks around his towers of junk that is filled with everything you could ever think of."Ah here we go, finest cloth straight from Arethor, it's top of the line stuff." "Let me see this" Roland picks it up and strokes it expecting to feel soft, smooth cloth but all he feels is the rough, scratchy surface of worn out cloth. "What in the world is this? This is your top of the line cloth? I can buy better cloth from the Butcher!" Roland was angered by the attempted trickery of the vendor. "Well it's the best I got." The vendor mumbled softly. Roland realized the cowardice in the man's voice and decided to use this to his advantage. "I will give you 100 minas for it all" Roland stated confidently "100 minas! Outrageous, I payed 200 for the load I need to at least break even!" Responded the angry Vendor "Yea well you lied about, and you tried to scam me 175 or I leave and tell others of your corrupt business." "Fine just please don't tell anyone I need this!" Cried the Vendor. Roland walked away with 400 pieces worth of cloth he only spent 175 minas on. He pocketed the rest and told his master he spent it all.

"I will give you 100 pieces for it all" Roland stated confidently "100 pieces! Outrageous, I payed 200 for the load I need to at least break even!" Responded the angry Vendor "Yea well you lied about, and you tried to scam me 175 or I leave and tell others of your corrupt business." "Fine just please don't tell anyone I need this!" Cried the Vendor. Roland walked away with 400 pieces worth of cloth he only spent 175 pieces on. He pocketed the rest and told his master he spent it all. Quick Notes: I'm sorry I applied about a year ago I believe but I can't find any of my previous applications I know I posted around 3 of them and I hope this doesn't affect my application.
