  1. I would like to say, first and foremost, that I am applying to be a hunter, not a guard. Might I also add that I have level 75 in Axemastery (As I use axes) so I get double damage hits quite often (instantly kills sheeps, pigs and chickens). I also chose not to use archery for hunting, as it wastes arrows that could be used by guards to protect the city instead. 1. Mc name and rp name : ((firestarter600)) Ralariam_Stormleaf 2. What race are you : I am a human, more specifically, a halfling. 3. Have you ever lived in solace: No, I have not. 4. Did anyone direct you to joining, if so who: ((Arkelos)) Baroness_Kyral_Crownlance - A man is walking down a street in fine silks and exotic velvet, running up to him you see two goblins and a orc about to corner him in a dark alley by the tavern. You hear a yelp and rush in to find him dead, the three running down the alley. I take a quick look down at the body as I run, yell out to the guards "Help, someone's been murdered." As I sprint down the alley, running as fast I can, some guards quickly catch up to me, and we quickly back the murderers into a dead end, where the guards apprehend them. I, Ralariam Stormleaf, Swear upon my honor that I will uphold the peace and security of my lord, James Hightower and Lancel Hightower, and keep them safe. All indulgences of the world will not disrupt my task in protecting them to the best of my ability. So do I swear, Ralariam Stormleaf.
  2. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: firestarter600. How old are you?: I am 15 years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in Canada. My time-zone is PST. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: English is my primary language, though I am bilingual (I speak French as well). Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a 15 year old Canadian, bilingual gamer. I am not a person who takes part in any sort of discrimination, I do have my own opinions, but I am not one to force my beliefs upon someone else.My opinion is that games are meant to have fun in, there is no need to speed through any game, nor would it be necessary to ruin someone else's gaming experience. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Monday to Friday, I could be on anywhere from 2-5 hours daily. Saturday and Sunday, it could be anywhere from 0-8 hours a day. (There may be days during the weekend that I never come on, as my parents and I go camping fairly often during the weekend.) What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying, to me, means that you build a character, you can build this character however you would like, you could be a wise and powerful mage, a strong and dangerous warrior, a silent and shady thief, or really, anything you want. Though, this character is not just a character, you are your character, you speak as if you were him (or her), you act as if you were him (or her). For all intents and purposes, your character is you, and you are your character. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I played 10+ years of diablo 2, a brief amount of time in both World of Warcraft and Runescape, as well as limited experience in other Role-Playing Servers. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming, is essentially when a player breaks character, such as using knowledge that your character would not know or adjusting how you behave with people based on your real-life relationships with them. Another good example of Meta-Gaming would be researching the best way to kill a boss, in a game such as Diablo, though that one doesn't really apply in this situation. In other words, you could say that meta-gaming is just making decisions based on information your character would not know. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is when characters attempt to role-play, in a very unrealistic way. Declaring oneself as the best, most powerful, most intelligent, etc, without any actual proof, and without giving the other players a fair chance at having a fair dispute, Basically, not giving the other character a reasonable chance to fight back. Example: (The bold is the powergaming) - Man pulls out sword and attempts to stab other man. - Other man's skin is so hard that sword gets reflected and kills first man. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to be a fun experience, I would really like the chance to experience this server, as it seems quite sophisticated, and organized. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on many creative servers, just for building, but that is quite different than this role-playing experience. I have also played on many other role-playing servers, but I left due to various problems, such as, lag, unfriendly staff, constant down-times etc. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have read and understand the rules. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I promise to abide by all rules set in place by the server, the forums and the teamspeak. How did you hear about us?: I found out about this server, after finding the minecraft forum page on Google. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No, this is my first application. In-Character: Character Name: Ralariam Stormleaf What Race are you?: I am a human. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): I am part of the Halfling sub-race. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Born during The Amber Cold, of year 23, Ralariam was very very small as a child, he was the only child born to his mother, a young southeron who met his father while she was traveling through Kal'Dwain. His father however, a mountain dwarf, had 2 other sons, both born 4 years before Ralariam. Larger and stronger, Ralariam's brothers tormented him for most of his childhood, always pushing him around and breaking his things. Despite this, Ralariam still loved them both, and would always do his best to assist his brothers in things that they knew not how to do, such as farming and making ale. In return, his brothers taught him how to wield an axe. Near the end of his childhood, Ralariam was even beating his brothers in fights, using his superior speed, to dodge their attacks and waiting for the opportunity to strike. At the age of 15, Ralariam's life took a horrible turn. On one foul day, him and his mother where working on the farm. Their family dog followed him out, and started pacing in front of Ralariam, growling and staring towards the woods. Ralariam heard a murder of crows flying overhead, squawking and cawing. When he looked up at them, a single, rugged, mangy wolf with dark black fur walked out of the forest behind their house, it walked around the house, completely escaping Ralariam's sight. A few seconds later, his dog sprints around the house, barking and howling. Ralariam was curious, he set down his hoe, picked up his wooden axe, and slowly started walking around the corner, axe in hand. Just as he is about to turn around the corner, he hears a horrible scream. He leaps around the corner, just in time to see his dog jump at the wolf, only to be smacked away in one hit, and knocked unconscious. The wolf turned to his mother and pounces on her, biting and clawing at her. Ralariam instantly jumps into action, lunging towards the wolf and swinging his axe into it's side, he feels the shaft of the axe crack on impact. He pulls the axe back, and strikes again, and again, until it is dead. He drops the axe, the handle has been reduced to mere slivers of its former, sturdy self. He tries to pull the carcass off of his mother, but he already knows the inevitable, his mother did not survive (Yes parents dying is cliché, but at least it isn't by bandits or something). Overwhelmed with depression, he collapses on the grass, he lays there, until sunset, and sleeps there through the night. When he awakes, his pet dog is sleeping, right next to him. He wakes it, and commences walking towards the mine, where his father and brothers worked. As he sees it in the horizon, it seems different than usual. As he gets closer, he gets a sinking feeling in his stomach. He notices that the mine, to which there was only one entrance, has collapsed... After years of fending for himself, surviving bandit raids, wolf attacks, and eventually, a house fire, causing him to finally leave his childhood house. Since that horrible night, Ralariam spends his time wandering, passing through towns, selling his wares, slowly hording items, gathering money, until the time where he finds a place to call his home. What are your Character's ambitions?: When he was a child, Ralariam wished to be someone important, he didn't want to be just a miner, or just a farmer, he wanted to be someone that people would look up to, despite his small stature and short height, he never wanted anyone to look down on him again. He always puts 110% into everything he does. Secretly, Ralariam yearns for contact with other people, but he never puts himself out there, for fear of being hurt emotionally. He also wishes to find his father, and his brothers. He refuses to believe that the mine killed the remainder of his family, all those years ago. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Ralariam's favorite weapon is the axe, though, he is also quite a skilled farmer, therefore he is quite skilled with a hoe. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? He a quick, lean, agileis very skilled in farming, and fighting with a one-handed axes A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, click here: http://www.lordofthe...kin-screenshot/): Other Information about your Character: Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? He looks at the halfling, and gets a flashback of himself when he was a child. Hiding his rage, he walks over to the thieves and puts his hand on one of the thieves's shoulders. "Hey, how about you leave this poor halfling alone?" I say to them. They turn to Ralariam, and the largest one says "How about you make me?". He looks at him, sigh, and say "I would have much rather settled this without violence, but if you insist." He tightens his grip on the smaller one's shoulder, places his leg behind the thief, then pulls back on his shoulder, the thief falls like a ton of bricks. He stays laying on the ground, completely stunned. The larger bandit scoffs and says "I'd like to see you try something like that on me." Ralariam pulls out his axe, flips it around, so the blade faces away from the bandit, and lands a powerful blow with the handle of the axe on the bandit's sternum, he stands there for a second, before gasping for air, before joining his comrade on the cold stone ground. He turns towards the halfling, his mouth was wide open. The halfling slowly starts saying "Th-Than-Thank you." Ralariam look at him and say, "No thanks necessary." before turning and walking away. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Ralariam turns to the salesman. "Hello sir, I was just wishing to peruse your affairs, just to see what you have." The salesman smiles and says "Well, here, you see, we have an ancient sword, enchanted by a great wizard." He hands the sword to Ralariam, and after a second of examination, he hands it back. He says to the salesman, "I don't suppose you have any sort of axes?" The salesman says "Ahh, no, I do not, sorry." Ralariam says, "Ok, got anything else to show me?" The salesman says "Just some fertilizers, made of bo..." but he is cut off before he can finish. Ralariam says "Oh fertilizer, can I take 4 bags?" The salesman smiles and says "That will be 100 minas." Ralariam hands him a small sack of gold, picks up his goods, puts them in his backpack, thanks the salesman, then continues on his route. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Ralariam walks into the hut, slowly looks around, examining his surroundings. He walks up to the fireplace and slowly nears his hand towards the embers. As he approaches it, he can feel a slight amount of warmth. He thinks to himself "Someone was here recently, and I'm not a common bandit." He closes the chest, walks out the door, gives one last look at the fireplace, walks out of the house, and continues on his way. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Hello!" I respond, ecstatic at the thought of seeing another living creature, for the first time in what seemed like weeks. Slowly stumbling towards the camp, I wave towards the person greeting me. She is tall, lean, possibly elven in descent. I ask her "Hello, madam, I wouldn't suppose you have any spare food, after being lost in the woods for days, I haven't eaten for the longest time." She smiles to me and says "Sure, for 250 minas." I look at her, for a second. She chuckles, as she says "I'm kidding, here, have this." and hands me a basket full of bread. "Thank you madam, I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for this." She looks at me and says "We are heading in to town on Irba with the caravan, you are welcome to join us if you would like." I nod as I say "That would be wonderful." You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Walking up to the leader of the party. Holding my weapon in one hand, and my helmet under my other arm. I walk, head held high, towards the leader of the guard. I tap him, gently on the shoulder. He turns towards me, takes a second to look at me, and says, in a slight mocking tone of voice, "I don't suppose you wishing to assist us in eliminating the bandits?" Looking directly into his eyes, I say "It would be an honor to serve with you, noble one." The guard looks around, "Does anyone else wish to join us?" he says, looking desperately into the crowd. Nobody steps out of the crowd. After a couple more seconds, the guard turns to me, and says "Try not to get us all killed." As he turns to the guards, gives them a hand signal to follow him, he looks back at me for a second, and starts walking slowly out of the town. Anything else you would like to say?: I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read my application, I understand it must be quite tedious to read these applications, especially with the walls of text people make in their biographies. Thank you - Firestarter600, AKA Ralariam Stormleaf.
