Basically same as last time, but I fixed my errors. :)
Out-Of-Character
Minecraft Account Name: nkennedy98
How old are you?: 13
Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern USA
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, I believe I have a good grip on the English language, seeing it is my primary language. I occasionally do misspell some words though, so excuse that.
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I enjoy playing video games as well as sports, and somewhat enjoy school. I am glad that I’m on summer break, however slightly miss school. My friends always say I am quiet and not very outgoing. They just don’t know me well enough. ;)
How much time could you be on the server weekly?: At least four hours a day, seeing as I am on Summer Break.
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is stepping into the shoes of a made up character that has a set personality and backstory that you create. You are basically acting as if you were in a play or story, and you were an actor in the play/story. However, you are not you character and your character is not you, so outside emotions toward a certain person/place/thing should not be shown through your character.
What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have role-played countless hours on World of Warcraft, mainly in Town/Kingdom role-plays. Those two types of role-plays seem similar to Lord of the Craft, seeing how it is focused around Medieval times which contained many kingdoms and towns. I enjoyed roleplaying on World of Warcraft, and in fact had so many characters, I lost track of which backstory belonged to which character. :)
In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is using Out of Character information In Character. For instance, if you and your buddy are chatting on Skype, and he says that there is a weak town at XYZ that is meant to be hidden, your character should have no knowledge of the location of this town. Using that information that was just given to you In Character would be Meta-Gaming. Another example would be if you were walking on a path when a bandit jumps you, and you tell your buddy on Skype where you are and to come help you, he wouldn’t be allowed to do that because his character should have no knowledge of your encounter and therefore you should solve it yourself. If you friend came to help, that would also be considered Meta-Gaming. All in all, Meta-Gaming makes roleplaying no fun at all.
In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is not giving another character the chance to react in an encounter. For example, if you are fighting a bandit, and the bandit is typing his action, but you type that you killed him before he even got a chance to react, that’d be considered Power-Gaming. It should also be noted that Power-Gaming can even be overpowering your character, like being able to sustain ten arrows to the chest, or getting a huge gash in your leg but still running at full speed. In those instances, you should be dead or dying, not being a God at everything and not taking any notice to pain. Once again, Power-Gaming makes roleplaying no fun at all, either.
What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server will be both laid back role-play and some intense PVP role-play. I think both of these because at some points in time, you could be casually farming or conversing with other players. However at another point in time, you could be in a heated conflict or being sieged by a raid party. Both of these types of role-play for the server make it seem tons of fun.
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on a few role-play servers and and some Jail servers, but none interested me because of unreasonable encounters, unfair admins, and basically, no body focusing.
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, and I swear I will never bend or break any of them.
Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I, nkennedy98, promise to abide by said rules and laws on the Server, Forum, and TeamSpeak.
How did you hear about us?: My good friend HoosierForLife.

In-Character:
Character Name: Thad Barnim
What Race are you?: Human
What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner
Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I grew up on a small farm just outside the fresh meadows where Aegis once stood. I now live in the kingdom known as Asulon. I enjoy being a Human, but what somewhat disappoints me is that we Humans had to receive the curse that only allows us to live 12 decades. My mother says not very many people live to be that old though.
I am 17 years of age as of now, and dark black hair and lightly tanned skin from countless hours working in my families fields. My eyes are a very bright green. My father says that only a special few are blessed with beautiful eyes like mine, but I don’t believe him. I see many people with my bright green eyes. I am muscular from transporting goods from our home to the trading post a mile away. Also, I have to go to the well that is quite a distance to get water to last us a day, which is quite a bit coming from a family of seven.
I am very strong, but not as agile as my friend Trig, who also lives on a farm nearby my home. He is interested in the same things as me, and we take the same sword fighting class. We are sparring partners in melee and swords, and we use wooden swords as to not severely injure each other. Trig has good leadership skills and wants to become the leader of something big someday. My leadership skills are getting better, but often my decisions only benefit me, and not who follows me, so I wouldn’t make a very good leader, yet.
A few weeks ago while I was out in the fields collecting the weekly harvest, I heard a loud scream from behind my house. When I got there, only five of my family members were there. I would be the sixth. One of us was missing. As I glanced over our family, my older sister Camellia was not there. She was known across town for being a highly known doctor and she has saved many lives. What would anyone want with her? Everyone remarked to her as beautiful and one of a kind. Hopefully they kidnapped her just to receive medical aid, but that is highly unlikely. I followed a trail of footsteps in the dirt that were very difficult to distinguish, but it is obvious whoever it was had been struggling. As my family grieved and said several prayers, I went into the woods, looking for any sign of Camellia. As I passed a large rock that seem to have been pushed over, I heard a faint whisper. “Thad.. help.” I quickly glanced over to see Camellia stuck under the rock, her left leg trapped. I ran over tried to lift the rock. After several attempts and presumably gallons of sweat covered me, there was just enough space for her to slip her leg out. Instantly, she wrapped around me, crying in both sadness and happiness. Before I could ask why, I noticed. There was a body lying in the bushes with a huge cut across his chest. His sword lie next to his body. It was Camellia’s boyfriend, Ivar.
“What happened?” I asked.
“He.. he took me while I was tending to the flowers. I thought he was a bandit but when he comforted me last night, I knew it was him. But then he went crazy. He tried to..” She instantly broke into tears. I began walking back home with her very close, Ivar’s sword in my unoccupied hand. Soon, Camellia had fallen asleep when we stopped to rest, so I carried her home. But I noticed something wasn’t right when I returned home. The village was on fire, our crops, and almost every other farm’s crops, were gone. Camellia woke and began sobbing again. Inside our home was empty, some blood on the floor and walls. Pages and clothes were all over the floor and some coins scattered. The village.. had been raided and everyone taken prisoner or killed. Camellia slowly walked around looking for our family. Nothing. I walked out the gates, Camellia at my side as a tear rolled down her face. The wilderness stood before us.
What are your Character's ambitions?: I seek to find my family that was taken from me in the attack on our village.
What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool would be the sword, because I spent years perfecting my swing.
What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? One of my most skilled talents would be tending to wheat farms with speed. Many years of practice have allowed me to quickly plant and harvest the crops nearly without failure.
A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ):
Other Information about your Character: I feel that with the help of Camellia, we can accomplish anything. She tends to my wounds that I receive from fighting wild animals or any bandits that come across us.
Open-Response-Questions
Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?
The warriors tower over the halfling, both look very strong. The halfling looks around quickly, obviously nervous.
Warrior 1: He's not giving up the money. I say we just take it from him.
Warrior 2: Yup.
The warriors give the halfling one last warning, before Thad speaks up.
Thad: I wouldn't do that.
Warrior 2: And who are you to say that?
Thad: Thad. Thad Barnim.
The warriors both laugh and walk towards Thad drawing their weapons. The halfling runs looking back, before he realizes he can't just leave Thad and Camellia to fight off the warriors.
Halfling: Hey big guy! Over here! *runs circles around one of the warriors, who soon becomes dizzy and passes out.
Warrior 1: You little... *tries to grab the halfling*
Thad disarms the warrior and the halfling laughs mockingly. The warrior looks around, not knowing what to do while his friend is unconscious.
Warrior 1: You know.. I'm real sorry little halfling.. *quickly tries to escape from Thad's grasp, but fails*
Thad: You're not going anywhere. Halfling, go get the guards.
Warrior 1: Please! Let me go! I won't do it again.
Thad: You're right. You won't because you both will go to prison.
Warrior 1: No! I'm sorry! Please!
The guards run down the path, the halfling trailing behind having trouble breathing.
Guard 1: We'll take him off your hands.
Halfling: Thank... thank you. *short of breath, but hands Thad a bag of minas* I owe you it. Thank you again. *runs off merrily*
Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?
Thad: Hello, do you have any swords or medical supplies?
Merchant: Yes, here take a look at this sword here. *hands Thad an iron sword with a gold tipped blade*
Thad: She’s a beauty, how much?
Merchant: Well, I was hoping 1500 minas..
Thad: How does 860 sound?
Merchant: Well...
Thad It is 860 or nothing.
Merchant: Fine... And here are some medical supplies, I’d say about 87 minas for all of them.
Thad hands over a bag of 1000 minas and tell the Merchant to keep the change then goes on his way, handing Camellia the supplies, and Thad sheathing the new sword on his waist.
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:
Thad would rest inside the hut overnight, for he has been traveling for days with Camellia at his side, who seems to be obviously affected by the tragedy that occurred back at the village the once lived at.
The next morning, Thad would check the chest.
Thad: Well, seeing as I already have two swords, I’ll leave the gold sword. Here slip this iron into your bag so we don’t get caught. You could use it for medical tools.
Camellia: Okay.
The two go on their way, acting as if they never encountered the hut.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?
Thad would ask if he would be able to stay in the camp for a few days and if they could receive some food to deal with their hunger. After the few days pass, then Thad and Camellia would ask for directions to the nearest town.
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:
Thad: I volunteer to assist in hunting down these bandits.
Party Leader: Excellent. We will meet tomorrow at dawn with the rest of the party to hunt these bandits down.
Thad: I’ll be there. Camellia, you converse the the villagers while I’m gone okay? Don’t get into any trouble.
Camellia: I won’t Thad. I love you.
Thad: I love you too. *Thad stood there in shock, this is the first time his sister ever showed real affection toward him. Other than when he saved her life, but that is usual.
Camellia runs into Thad’s arms and hugs him. “Don’t get killed.”
Thad: I won’t.
Anything else you would like to say?:Don’t get on my bad side, otherwise you’ll be good. :) Also, I am really looking forward to joining Lord of the Craft.
