  1. 1. Mc name and rp name : Kaizlin (for both) 2. What race are you : Human 3. Have you ever lived in solace: No 4. Did anyone direct you to joining, if so who: Doone Rylin 5. (Answer in rp format what you do) - A man is walking down a street in fine silks and exotic velvet, running up to him you see two goblins and a orc about to corner him in a dark alley by the tavern. You hear a yelp and rush in to find him dead, the three running down the alley. "GUARDS!" Kaizlin shouted without a moments hesitation. "There has been a murder!" Kaizlin exclaimed to the two guards approaching. "They went this way! Follow me!" He said before unsheathing his sword, and rushing off to catch the brigands. 7. I, Kaizlin, Swear upon my honor that I will uphold the peace and security of my lord, James Hightower and Lancel Hightower, and keep them safe. All indulgences of the world will not disrupt my task in protecting them to the best of my ability. So do I swear, Kaizlin. P.S. I am applying for a job as a blacksmith. ((I still have all 50 of my starting skill points unallocated, and I am willing to distribute them in any way needed to get the job.))
  2. *A hastily scribbled note on the Arethor bulletin board reads "Looking for work as a novice miner or blacksmith. Preferably a miner. Please contact me if you have any useful information on where I can find a job in these trades, or if you happen to be an employer yourself. Kaizlin ------- *
  3. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Kaizlin How old are you?: 24 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT -9:00 Alaska Time. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Indeed, I do! Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm the most laid back person I know. I have a good sense of humor. I can be quite silly at times, but not annoyingly so. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Probably 10+ hours, if I enjoy it. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is very similar to acting in my experience. You immerse yourself in a character, or roll, and act things out in a manner consistent with how you believe your character would behave. It gives you a chance to be someone else, and live through their eyes. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have been roleplaying since I was 11 years old. I have played multiple table-top RPGs, and participated in several roleplaying forums. I also have experience playing on roleplaying servers in World of Warcraft, but it's negligible, as you can hardly ever find a decent roleplay outside of major guilds. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming, as I understand it, is using information from real life to influence the actions of your character in game. For instance, if you were to overhear a GM's plans, or peek at his notes, and then ready yourself for an impending surprise ambush he had set up, you would be Meta-Gaming. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-Emoting, or "Powergaming" as I have heard it called, could be described as 'roleplaying in god mode'. It's essentially using your emote to partially or completely negate the power of someone else's emote. Ignoring another character's actions, or overriding them with your own are forms of Power-Emoting. A few examples could include automatic hitting, before allowing your opponent to react, or dodging every single blow an enemy throws, in text based RP. Also implementing things not previously existing in the RP, like the sudden appearance of magical armor, or weapons, could be considered Power-Gaming. What do you expect this server will be like?: Given what I've seen so far, I expect that I will meet some pretty decent Roleplayers to play with. I have a friend that plays on your server, and it appears to be expertly crafted. It looks like a lot of effort has gone in to this server's design, and the screening process is strict, which is a good thing. I expect that my experience will be a pleasant, high quality gaming experience. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: The only other minecraft server I have played on is Mutinycraft. I left because I got bored. Plain, and simple. There wasn't much to do, except build and fight in PVP. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Cross my heart, and hope to get blown up by a creeper. (yes.) How did you hear about us?: I have a friend that plays on this server. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first application. In-Character: Character Name: Kaizlin Valescu What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Kaizlin is a young human man, approximately 20 years of age, with a fair complexion, and shaggy blonde hair. He is the greatest warrior in all the lands! All of the women swoon over him, and all of the men envy, and respect him! At least this is how he sees it. In reality, Kaizlin is nothing more than a competent blacksmith's apprentice. He is quite clumsy, and often oblivious to the world around him. He's intelligent, but dense, and doesn't apply his intellect in any gainful manner. If he would apply his strengths, and intelligence properly, he very well could be the man he aspires to be, as his father constantly reminds him. All his life, Kaizlin has aspired to be a great warrior. He is known to be handy with a sword, but only has a few training dummies, and a chicken under his belt as vanquished foes. The chicken was actually a training accident. One day Kaizlin's father came to him and explained that he was not, in fact, the son of a blacksmith, but the descendant of a long dead clan of warriors. Warriors said to be fueled by a magical fire that runs in their blood. He claimed that a cleric, looking to preserve the blood line of this ancient, but dead clan, brought Kaizlin to this small village to grow up safely, until the time came that he could restore his people to their former glory. Kaizlin thought this to be false, and frankly, quite cliche. Turns out, he was right. It didn't take much effort to find out that his father was pulling his leg. Kaizlin's father had a good laugh at the look on his face, but the jest got Kaizlin thinking. He thought to himself "how do great warrior clans come to be? They surely must start with a single great warrior, with the ability to lead others!". He then realized that working as a blacksmith in this small village would get him no closer to the glory of battle, and so the decision was made to leave. He would go adventure, make a name for himself! This is where the true story of Kaizlin begins; A green warrior in the Asulon wilderness, looking to make a name for himself. What are your Character's ambitions?: To become the greatest warrior the land has ever seen, and to have a great time getting there. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): His trusty sword! The balance is perfect, and the edge like new. He forged it himself out of left-over iron, from blacksmithing jobs he had done for other villagers. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Aside from sword play, he is quite the skilled blacksmith. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Kaizlin has an unnaturally happy disposition. It most likely stems from his father's unrelenting sense of humor. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Upon hearing the halfling's cry, Kaizlin said to himself aloud "A cry of distress? Aha! My first chance to prove myself as a hero!" At this, he then hurried off in the direction of the commotion, taking note to move as quietly as possible. He stopped and crouched down behind a cluster of bushes, attempting to get a better look at what was going on. Infuriated at the brigands' cowardice in choosing such a small and helpless target, Kaizlin burst from the bushes, and charged the bandits, screaming wildly! A well executed thrust and swing did him no good, as the bandit dodged and rolled out of the way. Just as Kaizlin realized he made a critical error, allowing the other bandit outside his field of vision, something hard struck the back of his head, knocking him out cold. As Kaizlin came to, he was greeted by an equally mugged halfling. "don't worry." Kaizlin said. "I doubt they found all of my coin. I'll get us a mug of ale to drown our defeat at the next inn we come across." He said with a bright smile. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "I don't suppose you are in the trade of beautiful elven virgins?" Kaizlin jested with a laugh. "Uh, no. Hold on, it was just a joke..." Changing the subject to avoid further agitation of the vendor, Kaizlin pointed to a random trinket on display. "That right there.... How much you say?" Kaizlin subconsciously grimaced at the price, causing the shop keepers expression to harden even more. "Um... How about this one? I'm sorry, but I don't have that much coin." Kaizlin said with a nervous smile, rubbing the back of his head. Suddenly, something caught his eye. It was a small amulet with a sword inside of an arcane looking transmutation circle of sorts. Wide eyed, he picked the amulet up, as if it was the most precious thing in the world, mesmerized by it's obvious, yet vague importance to his cause. The price the vendor quoted was nearly all of the money he had left, but Kaizlin didn't care. He handed his entire bag of coin over without even taking his eyes off of the trinket. The vendor was grinning as he counted the coin. Kaizlin could tell the vendor believed to have suckered him in to buying a useless trinket, but it had to be worth it! "Either way, I better try to make some more coin, before I starve to death.." He thought to himself, as he put the amulet on, and tucked it in to his shirt. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Upon opening the chest, Kaizlin scoffed. "Who, in their right mind, would make a sword out of gold? They must have been planning to reinforce it with this iron, but just lack the skill." He thought arrogantly to himself. Scooping up the contents of the chest, Kaizlin spent the rest of the day gathering fire wood, crafting a makeshift bellows out of his rucksack, and finding the perfect stone to use as an improvised anvil. He worked tirelessly through the night, tediously attempting to improve the soft golden sword with the iron from the chest. At dawn's first light, the blade was finally finished. A beautiful golden sword with a shining iron edge. It was a work of beautiful art, at least in the eyes of Kaizlin. He soon returned to the hut, and placed the new, and improved sword back in the chest. A tear formed in one eye at the thought of leaving such a beautiful blade behind. Hopefully the owner would appreciate it as much as Kaizlin did. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Hello there! Sorry, but I seem to have lost my way. Would I be able to convince you to part with a bit of food, and allow me to warm by your fire for a bit?" Kaizlin asked solemnly. "No, actually, I really don't have anything to pay with. I just spent the last of my coin in Alras you see..." Kaizlin explained, a little disheartened at the trader's lack of compassion. "What kind of alternate payment? Dancing? All I have to do is dance?" he asked nervously, worried at how the traders grinned and laughed at the question. "Without my clothes?!" Kaizlin nearly yelled, appauled at the idea. Seeing that the traders weren't keen on taking "no" for an answer, Kaizlin started to back away. "That's quite alright. I'm sure I can find something in the forest to forage. I'm really a terrible dancer..." He attempted to assure the traders, closing in on him. Suddenly Kaizlin was grabbed by at least three of the men, and thrust in to the middle of the camp, next to a roaring fire, above which was a roasting boar on an improvised rotisserie. The smell of the cooking meat made his head swoon, and stomach growl. Snapping back to reality and the situation at hand, Kaizlin attempted to reason with the traders once more. "Honestly, I'm not that kind of guy!" he pleaded to no avail. Seeing that his efforts to reason had failed, Kaizlin turned to his last resort, ditch effort of a plan B. He would have to outsmart them. A fool-proof plan formed in the back of his head, and thrust itself forth into the world before even giving Kaizlin a chance to review and refine it. "Look!" Kaizlin pointed off in to the distance, wide eyed. "A dragon!" he yelled. Distracting very little, and noticing it even less, Kaizlin drew his sword, swiftly slicing a leg of pork off of the cooking beast. Food in hand, he made a run for it, dodging two men, and bludgeoning another with the massive pork chop to break their lines. Hopping over a table, and through a bush, Kaizlin was met with an unexpected slope, tumbling down it and off of a crest, in to a river. Some way's down stream, Kaizlin drug himself out of the water, along with his leg of pork. He was even more lost, and partially bruised from the tumble, "But at least I got some pork out of it..." he thought to himself with a smile. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "Time to get rich!" Kaizlin thought to himself, overconfident that he could dispatch any number of grubby bandits. "well you boys are about to go broke, if I have anything to do with the matter!" Kaizlin exclaimed to the guardsmen. "Who am I? I'm Kaizlin! Surely you've heard of me." he said with a smile, and his hands on his hips. "No? Well then let me fill you in. No need to sign anyone else up. I'll handle your little bandit problem for you!" Kaizlin struck a heroic pose at the declaration. Soon he was barraged with skepticism, unfitting of his professional pose. "What about armor? Who needs it? Like they could hit me anyway." After a short arguement with the guardsmen, both parties decided it was in thier best interests if Kaizlin did not participate in helping to clear the bandits out. Kaizlin, because there were "much more valiant thigs to do." and the guard for fear that Kaizlin would let his overconfidence get himself killed. Anything else you would like to say?: "I really could have taken those bandits out for you." ~Kaizlin
