  2. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: AfricanSpaceCows How old are you?: 15 years old Time-Zone/Country of Residence: GMT + 10:00 hours Australia on the Eastern Coast Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:Yes, I speak English on a daily basis. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:I am 15 years old and I love RP games, I like playing sports like Tennis and Rugby. Minecraft is one of my favourite games to play in my spare time. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 10+ hours, more than likely lots on Weekends and Friday nights. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:Roleplaying is type of game that players pretend to be something that they are not. They play along as their character in the story and make judgements on the personality of the character that they are currently playing. RP gives me the chance to pretend that I am someone I am not. This makes me feel happy because I like to make up stories and adventures. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:Not on Minecraft but I have played MMORPG games and other RPG games on consoles like Xbox and PC. I haven't had many online RP experiences but I am looking forward to playing in LOTC. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is using out of game knowledge to use this to a players advantage in a game. This is most common in large multi-player RPG games that a player can use to influence in-game actions. The player will do a thing that is not the personality of the player’s character. Meta-Gaming can also be predicting an opponent’s next move as a result of their decisions in past situations or problems in real-life, another game or the game itself. This is not illegal but is a practice is generally frowned upon in most RP games. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power Gaming occours most often in Role Playing games. An act of Power Gaming is if a player makes his character almost invincible through RP style. An example of this is if a character is RP fighting and does not take any damage despite clear advantage to the other player. What do you expect this server will be like?: It will be like the books hopefully, but now I can experience them first hand through my own eyes. I am looking forward to this oppurtunity. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on one other server previously called Oz MC. This server has lots of PvP but I though that I would enjoy more RolePlay style combat because it is more fair and there is less Power Gaming. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I understand that I must respect other players beliefs and races. I also understand that I must not ruin the landscape or vandalise. Spamming, meta-gaming and power-gaming are also illegal. I have also read the punishments and I agree that they are reasonable. I agree to the terms and conditions Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and TeamSpeak set Rules: I agree. How did you hear about us? Did someone refer you?: I found you on a list of Minecraft servers and I saw the title and had to try you out . In-Character Character Name: Rilfir Bravebreaker What Race are you?: Dwarf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race: Mountain Dwarf Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.: Hailing from the town of Kal'Dwain Rilfir had a hard life trying to work his way up through the mining guild, he is skilled with a pick and could almost sniff out diamond. This being his particular talent Rilfir made friends with a strange merchant called Hadrian in the Drunken Toadstool, as they drank ale Hadrian told of far lands that ranged to the edges of Asulon. Not being a well travelled Dwarf Rilfir was curious and he wanted to experience the virtues of the outer sanctums of Asulon. He knew his way well to the Cloud Temple having been to the Monks Store there many times for supplies. Upon his arrival a hooded man that reeked of ale came out of the store before him. "Ye' gotta 'elp me!" then he collapsed. His curious nature took the better of him and he picked the man up and carried into the Cloud Temple to be healed by the Monks. An Orc Shaman had followed the pair in seeing the distressed look on Rilfir's face. Rilfir placed the man onto one of the guest room beds and went to look for a Monk. The Orc Shaman blocked his path and said "Nub, me gots da Healing Waters frob me Clan." he sat next to the drunk man and as he went to make him swallow the water the man vomited violently and the Orc tipped him onto his side. The man sits up and looks into Rilfirs eyes. The man was very grateful for Rilfirs quick thinking and he invited the Dwarf to travel with him, he invited him to come and stay with him and to meet with the leader of his town to ask for residency. What is your Character's ambitions?: He wants to continue with his travels but he will willingly stay if he is needed to help in whatever town he is living in. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format:[/b((. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Rilfir notices the Halflings distress and he stops and watches, not wanting to lose his minas which he just made by selling his mining wares he jumps from the path and walks onwards. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Rilfir simply observes his wares yet notices a small glint that comes from under a cloth. It was a golden axe, Rilfir questioned the Merchant upon how he came into possession of this interesting and rare item. He said that the axe hailed from the Goldhands of course knowing of these people, Rilfir pondered whether to purchase the axe or to leave it is. But the merchant had a wry smile and knew that the temptation of a golden axe was too much for a dwarf. Looking down at his rusty Iron Axe Rilfir decided it best not to purchase such a thing, for if he was robbed during his travels he would most certainly be killed with his own golden axe. But he thought that if he could take this artefact to Dunhagen Goldhand then he would get a hefty bag of Mina's. Rilfir's greed had set him onto another quest after paying over 100 mina's he left for the House of Goldhand in Kal'Alras. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you the common tongue, how do you respond? Rilfir is hoping that the men in the camp will take pity on the state of a starving unarmed dwarf. Hoping they will not take him a serious threat that they will feed him and point him in the direction of the nearest city. The merchants are of Elfish descent and are going towards Malinor in the trees. They are staying the night in this camp and what they don't know was that the footprints of Rilfir are being tracked by a troop of three bandits on Jabbernacks and they are looking for loot and blood. Blissfully unaware of the imminent danger that they are in, the Dwarf and the Elves share tales of their upbringing and their homelands whilst the Jabbernack riders circle the camp in the darkness. Awoken by the snarling and the loud yelps of the fighting Elves and Bandits Rilfir unarmed thinks about if he can escape or if he can help, escape seems the logical option to this dilemma, running from his bed roll, he is unnoticed by the Jabbernack riders but he manages to pick up a map that was dropped by a dead Elf. After running for what seemed like days Rilfir sits and examines the map. He is not too far from the Neutral nation of New Alras and so forthwith he began his hasted march towards New Alras. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?: Norral puts down his flagon of ale and goes to recruit himself. He finds that he is in the company of Men, Elves and Dwarves alike. They move almost immediately, yet when they arrive they find a freshly abandoned camp that has still smoking fire pits, bed rolls and pots of food left on the ground. An impulsive Elf runs forward to check some of the chests. This movement was his last, six different arrows pierced him and he was no more. Three bandits charged and the Mercenaries let arrows fly whilst the dwarves swung their axes and swords. Rilfir was met in combat by a fearsome looking Orc that was wielding a savage pickaxe. The pair circled each other until the Orc swang a clumsy strike, easily dodging Rilfir charged and his shoulder made contact with the Orcs flabby stomach. Knocking him down he tried to force surrender on him but the Orc would have none of it, and he attempted to regain his feet but Rilfir silenced him with a blow to the stomach. Looking up he could see three remaining bandits, and only four remaining mercenaries. They gave each other small nods and charged, two of the remaining bandits dropped their weapons and claimed surrender, but the adrenalin fuelled mercenaries killed them. The final Bandit fell before he could swing. Rilfir examined the camp and found that they were not alone. A Family of Halflings were bound to a stake next to the Bandit leader’s tent. Cutting the Halflings binds they revealed a stash of treasure in a large chest concealed inside of the Bandit Leaders tent. With a hefty sum of Mina's and a new diamond axe Rilfir went about making his way to town.
