  1. Same, coming from a new player its awesome to see the server grow in population. :)

It is great to see the population grow. It'll be great to see it grow together! And welcome to the server! I hope you enjoy your time on here!

Welcome back to the server, hope you enjoy your return here.

EDIT: And to Roux~ glad to see a new player being active on the forums and enjoy your stay here as well.

Thank you very much. I'm enjoying it so far!

  2. Hello! I go by Criala, but you can call me any varition of that you please. Other nicknames that I go by include Mimi, Misa (because I use the name Misaki a lot too) or Edward (like from Full Metal Alchemist, because I'm pretty short).
I used to be active on the server back in the summer of 2012, but since it would crash more often than not, I wasn't able to play that much and eventually just stopped going on. Not long after that, I started college, so I got really busy. Then a couple weeks ago, my friend asked me to start playing on the server with him again, so here I am again! It doesn't crash like it used to, but it does lag me quite a bit if there are 120+ people on, so I'm usually on when there's less people, like 60ish, on.
Currently, I'm studying to be a criminal profiler, also known as offender profiling. It's what they do on Criminal Minds. If you haven't seen that, this is the defination of it! :) "Offender profiling, also known as criminal profiling, is a behavioral and investigative tool that is intended to help investigators to accurately predict and profile the characteristics of unknown criminal subjects or offenders."
I've been roleplaying since I was fourteen, so roughly seven years now. I started out on Neopets, then I moved onto roleplaying with a few select people on email and MSN. Then I moved to roleplaying on Skype, which I still do everyday. And about a year ago, I made an RP blog on tumblr, that I am still active on everyday.
Writing is a passion of mine, which goes hand in hand with roleplaying I would say. I hope to publish a book some day. I've been writing ever since I can remember.
I'm a huge anime nerd. Naruto is my absolute favorite, but Death Note and Yu Yu Hakusho are close seconds.
  3. mc name: Criala
    Race: Wood elf
    Character age: 91
Physical description: Ryllae is five foot, seven inches. His hair is al ight blonde and it goes to the top of his shoulder blades. Usually, he keeps it tied up, with some hair framing his face. His eyes are a darker green and his skin tone is a paler tan. His build is slender and lithe.
  4. I think the current application is good. When I first applied back in June of 2012, it was a lot longer (with the open ended questions, but I personally had fun doing those), so it was more intimidating than the current one and more time consuming to fill out. For newer people and those with less patience, I think the current application works pretty well. It's not too hard, but it's not too easy either.
More feedback on denials for applications would be good. Maybe having more members on the AT could help with that? I admit that I am not, nor have I ever been, part of the AT so I don't know how easy or hard this would be to do. I got lucky and didn't get denied either of the times I applied (in 2012 and just recently), but I have heard that the denials can be a little lacking in the reasoning for the denial or for ways to help improve the denied app.
Posting on the Minecraft forums as well as on here. I think this could be removed. Some people can't be bothered to do both, so they don't. I would have, but not a lot of people would want to do that, because that is more effort than some people are willing to put forth. Just my thoughts on this. :)
  5. Currently, Ryllae was loading arrows into his quiver. A quiver that had been given to him by his father, as well as the bow that he used. His eyes fell on the bow for a moment, a wave of sorrow hitting him. That was the last time he had seen his father before he’d headed off to war.

    -

The young Wood elf looked up when he heard his name being called by none other than his father, Seith.

"What is it, dad?" He asked, turning to face his father.

He had always taken after his father when it came to his looks. The light blonde hair, his facial features, his skin tone, his build. All from his father. About the only thing that came from his mother were his eyes and his ears. They were a tad pointier than his father’s.

"Here." Seith spoke with a grin, holding out a slightly worn looking bow to his son. "This is for you. My best bow. Doesn’t look like much, but looks are always deceiving, aren’t they? It’s gotten me through a lot."

"Really?" Ryllae asked with wide eyes. This was the bow that his father always used. "You’re giving it to me?"

    "I am." Seith’s eyes softened.

Carefully, Ryllae took the bow from his father’s hands and was looking down at it.

"It’s yours now." Seith reached up, ruffling his son’s hair.

"Thanks, dad!" Ryllae let a wide grin come to his face, pulling the bow over his shoulder so he could properly give Seith a tight hug.

"You’re welcome, son." Seith returned the hug, holding onto his son tightly. "I’m headed off tomorrow."

"Do you have to go?" Ryllae asked, chewing on his bottom lip. He already knew the answer, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t hope that the answer would change.

"Yes, sadly, I do. I’ll more than likely be gone before you get up tomorrow morning." Seith told him. "But, I’ll be back before you know it. I’ll always come back to you."

"You promise?" Ryllae looked up at him hopefully.

"I promise." Seith gave a nod of his head.

"I love you, dad." Ryllae said softly.

"I love you too, Ryllae." Seith smiled at him, pressing a soft kiss to his temple.

And Seith had been right. When Ryllae woke up the next morning, Seith was already gone. All that was left was a note with a message from Seith.

    -

Tears welled up in Ryllae’s eyes as he pulled a crumpled, obviously old piece of paper from his pants pocket. He unfolded it, reading over the words written on the page.

If you’re reading this, then I’ve already headed off. I love you, Ryllae. I’ll see you soon, son. I promise.

    -

Three months. Three long months that Ryllae had been waiting for his father’s return. The longer Seith was gone, the more he worried about him. His father always came back to him. Always. But he just couldn’t help worrying.

He was tending to the bow Seith had given him when he noticed another one of the soldiers walking towards him. Another Wood elf that had gone off to war with his father. The elf’s name was Elessar. If Elessar was back, then that meant his father was back!

Immediately, Ryllae set the bow down, carefully of course, and rushed over to Elessar.

"Elessar!" He exclaimed excitely with a bright grin on his face. "Where’s my dad?"

"Ryllae…" Elessar trailed off, glancing around nervously. It wasn’t hard to tell that something was wrong. The elf looked quite troubled.

"Elessar…?" Ryllae’s bright grin slowly transformed into a frown. "What is it? Where’s my dad?"

"Seith has…" Elessar paused for a moment, trying to gather himself before continuing. "H… Has fallen in battle…"

    Ryllae’s eyes widened. “N… No…!”

Elessar nodded gravely, wringing his hands together. “He has been killed in battle. Shael… It turns out he was a double agent a.. and he killed him…”

"No… No… No!" Tears blurred Ryllae’s vision and he fell his knees, sobbing into his hands.

    -

His shoulders trembled as he fought off the tears that were threatening to pour from his eyes.

"Yo… You promised you w-would c-come back, d-dad…" He whispered, not taking his eyes off of the small piece of paper in his hands. Finally the tears began to flow freely, streaming down his cheeks and dampening his pant leg.

"You promised…" A sniffle came from him, his voice still only a whisper, and it was followed by more tears. "A… And you… You never came back…" His hand shook, but his grip on the paper never loosened. "I miss you so much, dad… I…  I need you…"

    History
Ryllae was born in a small village near the city of Normandor. From the early years of his childhood, he was mostly on his own and had to learn to take care of himself at a very young age. His mother died due to illness when he was very young, and his father was killed by a trusted friend in battle, when Ryllae had barely reached his teenage years. Along with training new recruits for battle, his father also helped keep the village going financially by helping with the trading and selling goods with other villages in the land. Ryllae tried to take over the role his father had played in the village, and was able to somewhat do it for a while.
But then the war of the humans had come and passed, where Hanseti joined Renatus, trading and selling with other villages wasn't good enough to keep the village going anymore. Knowing that something had to be done, Ryllae decided to pack up and leave his village in order to find new places for the village to trade with.
While looking for a good place for trading for his village, he found himself at Malinor. Not long after arriving, he enlisted in the Sentinels and soon fell for a fellow guard. Both retired to work on their life together after they got married, but it did not work out as they drifted apart. After this, Ryllae returned to his village for some time. Once quite a bit of time had passed, he left his village to start traveling again. The trading in his village went up even to keep it going, but it still wasn't as good as he would like. Currently, he finds himself around Cerulin, working at the farm just south of there.

His mother died due to illness when he was very young, and his father was killed by a trusted friend in battle, when Ryllae had barely reached his teenage years. His green eyes, on the other hand, he gets from his mother.

Anything else you want to say about them?: The bow he uses is one that his father gave to him the last time he saw him alive. It's his most treasured possession. His favorite color is a dark brown, because that's a color his father wore often. It feels like if he has that as his favorite color, and has items that possess that color, it keeps his father alive and with him.

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

While on his way from the Cloud Temple, Ryllae was making his way to the Inn. It had been a long day, and he just to get something to eat and rest. But his attention was caught when he heard of the sound of whimpering. Changing the way he was going, he headed for the sound, coming upon the small halfling being tormented by the two warriors. One of the warriors was holding the halfling up by his collar, off of the ground. The poor thing was struggling to get free.

"Hey, stop it!" He called out, frowning. He walked closer to them, readying his bow and aiming it at the warriors, but he kept a good distance between him and them. "Put him down!"

One of the warriors, the one that wasn't holding the halfling up, looked at him and sneered, glaring at him. "Do you really think you can stop us?"

"If I have to." Ryllae replied, drawing back the string of his bow.

"Think you'd be able to shoot us? A little thing like you?" The warrior laughed loudly. "As if!"

Ryllae didn't say anything; he merely let go of the string of his bow. The arrow left his bow and raced right by the warrior, nailing itself into the dirt behind them.

"See? What horrible aim! You didn't even get him!" The second warrior chided.

"Really? Look at him." Ryllae told him, nodding his head to the first warrior.

The second warrior looked to the first and his eyes widened. The first warrior's cheek was bleeding from a thin, long slit in his cheek.

"Wh-What?" The first stammered, lightly touching the slice.

"Imagine what I could do if I was being serious." Ryllae commented, taking an arrow from the quiver on his back.

The two warriors exchanged a look before the second warrior dropped the halfling and the both of them took off.

"Are you alright?" Ryllae asked the halfling, giving a small smile.

The halfling nodded. "T-Thank you for helping me." With that, the halfling ran off to get home.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Ryllae was looking over the wares when the sound of a voice suddenly speaking startled him. He jumped slightly, and looked up at the merchant. "Ah, hello... I was just looking." He offered a slight smile, glancing around the stall once more.

"I 'aven't seen you 'round here before. You new?" The merchant asked, looking Ryllae over.

"I am." Ryllae nodded his head.

"Ah, well, if you spot something you want, let me know." The merchant told him.

"Alright... Actually, I could use some more arrows, if you have any." Ryllae told him, rummaging around in his pocket to see if he had enough to buy some arrows. He didn't want to spend all of it though, so he could afford a room at the Inn, but he should have had enough to get a few arrows.

"You bet I do." The merchant grinned, setting out a stack of twelve arrows in front of Ryllae.

"Thank you, is this enough?" Ryllae asked, placing some gold pieces down by the arrows.

"Yep!" The merchant took the money and pushed the arrows towards Ryllae.

"Thank you." Ryllae bowed his head to the man as he picked up his arrows, putting them into his quiver. "I'll be going then." He walked away from the stand, waving to the merchant as he left.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Ryllae paused in his stride when he noticed the small hut. "What is this?" He murmured to himself, stepping closer to it to get a better look at it. "Someone's house?"

He peeked inside of the hut, glancing left and right to see if anyone happened to be inside. "It looks abandoned." He concluded. Then his gaze stopped on the chest in the middle of the small room. Slowly, he moved closer to it. He found himself curious to know what was inside of it. He peeked inside, finding the iron bars and golden sword. "Why would an abandoned hut have these things here?" He questioned under his breath, staring at the iron bars and golden sword.

If he could sell those, he could make a decent profit to help get more money for his village. But as tempting as that was, he knew it wasn't right. Whether this hut was abandoned or not, those items belonged to someone, and they wouldn't be happy to find their things gone when they came back.

He closed the chest and stepped back from it with a sigh. He didn't want to do anything that could be considered shameful to help his village. He wanted to do things that he'd actually be proud of to tell the people of his village about.

"I'll just go around it." He nodded his head, turning and leaving the small hut. Once he was outside, he went around the hut, continuing on his way, but he paused for a moment, glancing back at the hut just in time to see someone, though he couldn't see who, walk into the hut.

"I knew it couldn't have been abandoned." He murmured, nodding his head before picking up his pace and heading on his way.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"I shouldn't have gone that way..." Ryllae panted softly, glancing around. It had been few days since he'd gone around that hut, and he'd eaten the last of the food he had packed for his trip a hours ago. Now he was left hungry and thirsty with no sign of food or water.

Just when he felt about ready to collapse, he noticed a small camp in the distance. "Maybe they can help me..." He tried to quicken his tired pace in order to get to the camp sooner. Hopefully he would be able to get some food and rest there. He walked to the camp, his chest heaving and his appearance disshelved. Everyone there was staring at him, and he felt almost as if he was intruding.

It was silent for a few moments until one of them, a kind looking middle aged woman, spoke with a frown. "You look terrible! Let's get you something to eat and drink."

The woman stood from her spot, heading over to him and leading him over to take a seat in front of the large fire in the middle of the camp.

"Thank you." He smiled weakly, coughing lightly because of his dried mouth.

One of the younger women in the camp brought him a cup of tea, offering it to him with a smile. "Here you go."

He carefully took the cup from her and nodded his thanks, smiling as he took a drink of it. "Thank you." He whispered, gulping down more of the tea.

"Would you like more tea?" She asked once he'd finished all of his tea.

    "Please." He smiled, nodding.

She took his cup and left for a moment, returning with a refilled glass along with a plate of food for him.

"Oh, thank you!" He took the cup from her, placing it beside him and then took the plate, eagerly staring at the food placed on it. He quickly began to eat, his stomach rejoicing.

Once he was finished, he thanked them all repeatedly for giving him something to eat and drink.

"Oh, stop." The middle aged woman laughed, waving her hand. "It was nothing."

"Still..." Ryllae smiled. "Uh..." He trailed off a little for a moment. "Do you think I could take some food for my journey?"

"Of course!" She nodded her head, immediately getting up and returning with a pack of food for him.

"I can't thank you enough." He told her as he took the pack, hoisting it onto his shoulder and standing up.

    "Leaving already?" She questioned.

He nodded. "Yes, I can't afford to stop for too long."

"Take care of yourself." She clapped him on the back, grinning.

"I will." He smiled, nodding his head and waving as he left the camp, continuing on his journey.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Upon leaving the Inn he was staying at, Ryllae noticed that the town guard was gathered in the middle of the town.

"Wonder what's going on." Ryllae murmured in curiosity, making his way over to the group of guards. "What's happening?"

"There are bandits on the road that leads out of the town." The captain of the town guard replied, turning his head to look at Ryllae.

"Bandits?" Ryllae questioned with a frown.

"Yes." The captain nodded. He eyed Ryllae for a moment thoughtfully before speaking again. "We could use your help."

"My help?" Ryllae blinked in confusion. "You want my help?"

The captain of the town guard nodded his head. "Yes, from what I've seen you are quite capable with that bow of yours, having hunted small animals for us. You could help us come up with a plan."

"I'll try." Ryllae scratched the back of his head. "By chance... Do you know how many there are? Or any of their plans?"

"No. We know not their numbers or if they have a plan." The captain shook his head. "We just know that there are a lot of them."

"Alright." Ryllae nodded his head, beginning to think of a possible plan. He walked around the village, looking for somewhere that he could see the road from an above angle.

He let out a sigh when he didn't find a spot in the village. "Perhaps... I could find a way to listen in on them speaking..." He nodded his head, making his way to the road, peeking around. There were a lot of trees around the road, many of them close enough together so that someone could crawl from tree to tree. Maybe he could use that to help. He climbed up one of the trees, slowly and quietly climbing from tree to tree. He had only climbed through a few trees until he heard voices speaking, so he paused to listen in.

"...Attack at midnight tomorrow!" Then a chorus of cheering could be heard.

"They'll never see us coming!" A man chuckled.

"Especially if we go when it's dark out. They won't be able to see anything." Another laughed.

"Have you checked out it out?" The first man asked, his words muffled like he had something in his mouth.

"Of course I have, you fool! Otherwise I wouldn't have a plan." The second man sounded irritated, followed by a smacking down and the first man going 'Ow'. "The farms look good, and the women look even better." He chuckled.

"What about the men and children?"

"We'll just kill them and take off with the women."

Ryllae frowned to himself. They were planning to strip the farms bare, and kill everyone but the women. Ryllae carefully made his way back through the trees, and silently ran into the village to tell the town guard of what the bandits were planning, so they could think of the right course of action against this attack.
