  1. Out-Of-Character

    Minecraft Account Name:

    chikaea

    How old are you?:

    Eighteen

    Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

    USA- Mountain Standard Time

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I sure hope so by now...

    Naturally I do.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Sometimes I can seem to have a strange sense of humor but I assure you that most everything I say or do is all in good fun. I really enjoy to flesh out characters as completely as possible, though my first character is often a little confused. I do my best to prevent that, but it still can happen. Roleplaying is a passion of mine.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

At least 20-30 hours a week, if not more quite a lot of the time.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Roleplaying to me means a community of people who all pretend to be a character in a made up world (on occasion multiple characters, but not usually in this kind of roleplaying) and they socialize with others who are also playing their own characters. It's like writing a novel with many many authors... kinda...

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I've been roleplaying in many different ways since I was ten years old. In these kind of roleplays, I've been making characters since I was thirteen, though not on Minecraft until recently.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

One of the MOST irritating parts of online roleplay - when you get new players who don't quite understand how things work (or on occasion that one stupid person) keeps saying or doing things that their character should not be able to do, or know how, or sometimes know what's going on. Not fun for any avid roleplayer.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

When you don't allow another person to react to what your character is doing - thus making the story completely unrealistic (or sometimes not really affecting the story at all, but just annoying the other person.) I've found that sometimes this can be more difficult than it seems to remember.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Probably quite a bit like the others servers I've been on - fairly straight-forward but far too much fun. They type of fun that has me up filling out applications at one in the morning. This roleplay server in particular caught my eye because it's so completely trying to make it a full immersion roleplay, which I absolutely love!

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I've played on a couple of other servers, most of them were on the Minecraft Server lista s being roleplays and then they turned out not to be. I haven't owned the game very long, so I haven't seen much, but most of the others had issues with griefers, or most people not roleplaying and making it very unrealistic to all the roleplayers who are trying. I'm sorry, I don't remember the names of the servers I left, I never stayed long enough to care.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Of course. What kind of person would I be if I hadn't?

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Once again, of course. If I didn't, I certainly wouldn't have much life here.

How did you hear about us?:

Google. I looked up "Minecraft Roleplay Servers"

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

    Nope. Just found you.

    In-Character:

    Character Name:

    Kali Rolfe

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

    Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

None in particular. Just kind of a middle ground.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Kali was born into a family of eleven children. To the shock of many of their neighbors, her mother lived through all of them, and still came out of the ordeal - though a poor constitution was likely the bi-product of it. Of all of the children Kali was the second youngest, which turned out to be her greatest curse. Though her mother loved all of the children equally, she was often sick in bed and struggling through illness after illness, her father wanted a son. He had had a son, his firstborn, but for some reason they had never gotten along very well. As Kali's oldest brother reached a more mature age, the fights only got worse until at sixteen the boy left home to travel somewhere else, and never returned home. Every child since Kali's oldest brother had been a girl, and when Kali was born, her mother was starting to struggle through childbirth more and more. They believed that Kali would be their last for certain. Then along came Kali's younger brother a year later - a surprise child, but her father's long awaited son, and Kali was pushed along as just another of the girls. When Kali's mother died on Kali's fifth birthday, her father seemed to blame her for it, saying that if she hadn't wanted to celebrate her birthday so much, then her mother would not have worked herself to death.

Of all the children in her family, Kali is the most different. Three of her older siblings resemble her father: brown hair, brown eyes, and a rather squat face. The others look like their mother, blonde hair and a lighter, more golden brown eyes. Kali however has long and slightly frizzy red hair, with bright green eyes that no one but her younger brother shares. Where her looks came from no one in her family can say for sure, but her mother once mentioned a great aunt with similar looks, so it's assumed that that's where her looks came from.

Growing up, Kali struggled to be acknowledged as worth something to her rarely caring father. It wasn't that he was a particularly mean man, he just didn't care - too wrapped up in the son to replace his last. Kali often found herself doing the uglier jobs around their family farm - taking care of the animals, cleaning out the latrine, anything that her older sisters didn't want to do, that was what she was stuck with doing. Her father and brother were always out in the fields together, so they were never around. Despite the fact that her father didn't care, her younger brother always seemed to adore her, and he was often the one that comforted her when she was feeling particularly down. Years passed without much event for most of Kali's life - living out in the middle of a farm with nothing to do with her life, and watching all her elder sisters get married off, leaving her with more and more to do. Even her little brother got married off while she still stayed home with her now aging father and tried to take care of everything that he asked her to.

At the age of twenty-two, Kali's father became too weak to work and she took over as the sole worker on the farm, struggling to make ends meet and still make sure that his passing was as peaceful and happy as it could be. When her father finally moved on, he left everything that he owned to Kali's younger brother, who had left the family quite awhile before to seek his fortune. He was doing very well living in a far off city, though Kali never found out where, and so when Kali sent him a bird telling him about their father's death and the care of the farm being put into his hands, he balked at the idea and sold it straight away, leaving Kali with no home, and no livelihood. She sent birds to all of her family members, hoping that she would be accepted to be with them, but none replied, and she was never sure if they received the letters or not. Since then, Kali has been traveling from town to town, trying to do as many odd jobs as she could to keep herself alive.

    What are your Character's ambitions?:

She wants to earn enough money to buy either a new farm or to buy back her father's, and to begin farming again.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Hoe. Or perhaps shears. Either or - whatever she needs to get some more minas.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

She's actually a fairly good storyteller, though she thinks it's a pointless talent and of no use in the world except for those men who have enough money to take care of themselves and sit around telling stories all day.

    Other Information about your Character:

I'm fairly sure everything has been covered.

    Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

I would probably duck out of the way, do my best to sneak around them, feel guilty about leaving the halfling, but be grateful that the halfling was first so the warriors were distracted as I went by.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

I would stare (and likely drool) over many of the items for a few seconds before politely declining and quickly moving on, trying not to feel bad about saying no.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

I would leave the sword, but likely take the iron bars and hope to sell them as soon as I could.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

If I were alone, I would likely beg to travel with them wherever they were going and offer what services I could to make a bit of coin.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

I would painfully watch those who went, staying safely inside the town, and then offer whatever I had to those who got the reward and try to make something off of them.

Anything else you would like to say?:

Nothing that I can think of.
