An elderly scribe begins constructing a response:
"The Kingdom of Haense, also known as the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, is not solely a Hansetian kingdom nor is it solely a Ruskan people. House Barbanov, the ruling dynasty of the Highlander people, controls the Kingdom and does not rely on one cultural entity. Rather, it is a conglomerate of all Highlander peoples.
The Barbanov line does not claim its legitimacy from loose ties to House DeNurem. Nor was it Petyr Barbanov who established Haense in its founding. The Kingdom of Haense is an ancient kingdom which traces its lineage back to the beginning of the Highlander people. Saint Karl Barbanov reestablished Haense with ties to Raev, Hanseti, and other Highlander cultures. To expect Haense to adhere to a single cultural entity goes against the very message of its foundation, a Kingdom for all the Highlander peoples."

"Attacking refugees and simple-folk who would rather leave their land than fight is as imperialistic as the very Empire you sought to bring down!" exclaims High Pontiff Owyn II to the Courlandic court. Negotiations had gone down the drain before they even started. It worried Owyn who looked around the hall remembering when he was last there. At least this time he wasn't on the floor with a spear in his stomach on the edge of death. "Vassalize Mardon and convert to the True Faith. You have my deal." says Lord Chancellor Frederick Staunton as he stands in frustration. "There is no more to be discussed here. Take our generous offer or leave."
"Take the generous offer and leave your heretical ways." chimes in Nikolas, a priest of the True Faith. Owyn could feel his heart pounding as the court looked upon him. He had followed and worshiped GOD the entirety of his life. He could not give it up even if it meant the safety of the Haensetic refuges and Mardon folk from attack. He could not let them be ruled by tyranny. "We shall be taking our leave then." says Owyn quietly before turning to leave with his two companions Charles and Charles Augustus Horen.
"I'll see you lads safely out of the city." says Alfred, a kind Courlander who approached them. "Thank ya, it is good to know a kind heart is still in these parts." returns Owyn. The journey out of the city was uneventful. Thanking Alfred, the three companions turned towards the cart to return home. That was when they noticed Valkenier, spawn of Iblees, slowly approaching. The creature drew its blade with a sinister look. "I have my orders." is all that came out of its mouth before it attacked Owyn. Barely grabbing his axe in time, Owyn knocked aside the blade. However, the creature continued forward and plowed Owyn back.
Springing into action, Charles Augustus draws his sword from his sheath and sheers through the creature's chainmail, leaving a gorge of rot. "Back away!" exclaims Charles as he goes to protect Owyn from the beast. It was then when Owyn noticed five soldiers in Staunton garb led by Ser Elias de Castro charging into the fray. "We are saved." breathes Owyn is a sigh of relief as the Staunton soldiers charged forward into the fight.
Except they weren't.
Charging past the Neophyte, Ser Elias pushed into Charles, swinging his weapon wildly. "RUN! NOW, GO!" shouts Charles at a stunned Owyn. His feet moved in slow motion as Owyn and Charles manage to free some space for them to turn and run from the soldiers. Charles Augustus, now separated from the two, turned and ran in his own direction into the woods the Undead and Courland soldiers in pursuit.
"And you shall be the rock on which this Church is built. Steadfast and holy." The words of the past Pontiff rang through his ears as the two ran through the woods. All was quiet besides the stomping of dirt and the heave of breath. It was the twang and slow whistle which made Owyn realize they were in trouble. The arrow sank deep into Charles' calf, forcing him to the ground hard. Turning, Owyn goes to help his friend but is met with the words he most feared. "Leave me! I'll slow them down as much as I can." shouted Charles to his friend. With a single nod and last look at the approaching Undead and Stauntons, Owyn turned on his heel and ran.
"I am proud of you, brother. No matter what name you may take, you shall always be my brother." Owyn grumbles, if Deryk were here, they would never have gotten into this situation. The trees began to thin as the landscape began to open up. Grinning with joy, Owyn doubles his pace to leave the enemy behind. Passing through the last trees, Owyn smiles in triumph as he realizes he had escaped his enemies. He never saw the arrow that sheared through the flesh on his back into his heart.

Charles Augustus, while most of the soldiers followed the Pontiff, manages to escape. Word spreads of the Pontiff's death and how it took place as bells toll in each Canonist nation. Owyn II, formally known as Rory Othaman, was dead.

The Papal Enthronement of 1604
To the faithful,
It is with great reverence I submit to GOD’s Will that I take this divinely inspired anointing as Vicar of GOD. We, as the faithful of the Holy Canonist Church, find ourselves at a time of immense strife and a need of unity through the faith. I impel all Lords and commoners alike to rise up and right against the apostates who claim the righteousness of GOD their own. It is our duty as one Holy, Apostolic, and unified church to dispel the plague and darkness, to eviscerate the calamity of false prophets and heretical doctrines. True reverence and adherence to said truth comes not from the mouths of deceiving snakes but from the tradition that has endured in our Most Holy communion. It is our duty by the grace of baptism and enshrined in our moral fortitude to keep all that is good so as to purge the darkness that threatens the sanctity and values of our time. Let us remain stalwart and vigilant in faith, to defend GOD’s Canon in all lands, and to propagate the one infallible belief in the Godhead who sits just and omnipotent in the Seven Skies. I charge all of you faithful, all grave sinners and those troubled, to unite as the people of GOD in faith, hope, and charity.
*The High Pontiff would then pause in brief prayer as he raises his arms to profess the Principles of Faith.

The High Pontiff then pauses, recomposing himself before tracing the cross of Lorraine whilst giving the blessing.
"I now bless you all, In nomine Patris, et Horenus, et Exaltus Honorem."
A priest would walk up, proclaiming to the congregation,
"I announce to you with great joy: We have a High Pontiff!"

Rory looks up as his name is called out so soon. His heart skips a beat as he realizes what was about to happen. The Church had fallen into disarray as of late, and it would be up to him to lead GOD's chosen.
"Brother's, if it is your intent to elect me as your new Pontiff, I will not take this duty lightly. We are torn by a small clergy and a schism while our flock suffers from war and terror. It will be our duty, together, to solve these problems and bring back the glory the Church deserves. You do so have my pledge to do that until the end of my days. I hereby cast my vote in name of myself to secure majority, and what I hope to be a unanimous decision."

The Ecclesiastical Synod meets with the city of Metz during the Synod of 1598.
Within the office of the Cathedral of St. Karlsburg, the three members of the College of Cardinals arrived to meet. Archbishop Rory of Karlsburg, the Vice-Chancellor of the true Church of the Canon, rises, speaking to the two other Cardinals present.
“Following the abdication of High Pontiff Daniel IV, it has fallen unto us to name his successor. He must receive a majority of the vote among the Synod, two votes out of three. The voting shall resume until one is chosen to rise to this great Holy Office. This council must now elect a true Pontiff to lead our Church in this time of schism, bring back to GOD’s glory those of the so called True Faith, and bring salvation to this most Holy Church.”
The Cardinals would watch silently as the Archbishop returned to his seat, beginning their deliberation while placing their votes within the lock-box provided.

Rory mourns the leader of the Church sadly. "He led us through many hardships. His active leadership of the faith kept it strong."

Rory of Karlsburg looks about the chamber at his fellow Cardinals. His humble robes are stained with mud from the long road from Sutica when he had heard of the previous High Pontiff's passing. Looking at the slip of paper in front of him, Rory stands slowly, placing his staff down on the floor next to him.
"High Pontiff Adrian led our flock through many difficult times. Through disaster and war, the Church has maintained and continued to spread GOD's teachings. His wisdom and leadership kept the Church strong. Now, it is time to find a new Vicar of GOD to lead us. With that, I am announcing my candidacy for the Pontifical Seat of the Church of the Canon.
Everyone in this room knows what I have done to grow the Church and keep it strong. I intend to continue doing as such as the Pontiff of the Church with my first intentions being to expand the Church to all corners of Axios, grow our militant power, grow the number of clergymen so the brightest minds and most zealot of hearts can be used for our work, and to ensure each bishop is maintaining their dioceses successfully. I ask each of you to make the correct decision to strengthen the Church."
With that said, Rory writes down his name onto the slip of paper and gives it to the monk to be counted.

Where do you grab inspiration from: I've roleplayed on the server for 4.5 years now, and I feel like I've done little to give back to it. Now that I have the time to start roleplaying again, I want to do just that by creating roleplay and fun events for people to do on the server.
What are your current list of characters, and are you willing to sacrifice any: My only character is Father Rory. I would be willing to sacrifice him like any character if his death was in roleplay and deserved a PK.
What race, or group, do your events best cater to: I've spent most of my time on Lord of the Craft with the humans; however, I have roleplayed with each race and would be able to do events in any.
What do you believe are they key factors for a successful event: Planning, keeping the players hooked, and attendance are the key factors for a successful event. To have a good event set up, you need to plan, set up the environment, and figure out how to run the event. From there, you'll need to keep the players interested in the event through interesting roleplay and usually, action. Finally, you need people to roleplay with so it is important you have people at your events to enjoy them and keep them going.
What strengths would you bring to the team: I have a lot of leadership experience and passion when it comes to creating roleplay which I believe are my biggest strengths to bring to the team. I am always focused on contacting people and getting them on to roleplay as well as creating events even as a regular player for people to do.
Why do you want to be part of the team: The Event Team vastly opens up the scale and type of events I can hold as a player which I am unable to do as a regular one. I am excited to be able to extend the type of roleplay I do to be more fun for others.
Create three distinct event scenarios based on the servers lore that you would organize:The Troll Hunt:
A few men of the Brotherhood of the Golden Crow sit around a campfire outside their barracks. Snow lightly falls as one of the soldiers feeds sticks into the crackling flames. The sun was at its pinnacle; however, the day was unnaturally cold. A scout emerges from around the corner and sprints inside the officer's quarters with a worried expression. A few of the soldiers glance at each other. It seemed they would not be getting the day off. The officer opens the door with a crack and orders the men to grab their gear. Travelers had been reported missing on the road from Karlsburg to Turov, and it is believed Dwarven bandits were at work. Marching out, the company moves along the road to find the missing travelers.
All seemed quiet until a disturbance on the road could be seen up ahead. Upon getting closer, the company comes to a halt. Before them lies a turned over wagon with blood and tracks all over the snow. However, the bodies of the travelers seem to be missing. One of the soldiers notices large footprints leading off towards the mountains. The company sets off, following the tracks with a bit of unease as they begin to realize that it is not bandits that await them. The tracks lead to a cave in the mountains which gives off a raunch stench. One of the newer soldiers asks allowed "What could be in there?" He is quickly silenced by one of his brothers, but the damage had already been dealt. A grumble is heard from within the cave as the soldiers grow quiet. Emerging from the cave stands a large troll with hunger in his eyes.
Whaling:
It was whaling season for the peasants who lined the Tahn coastline. Out at sea, large spouts of water could be seen from whales feeding on rich kelp. However, the peasants saw the whales with greed in their eyes and quickly get into large rowboats to chase the whales. After many hours, the peasants are able to close in on an adolescent high in the water. Slowly, three of the peasants raise their harpoons which are attached to the rowboat and throw them at the whale. Splashing loudly, the whale thrashes about in the water as two of the harpoons drive home. As it thrashes, the waves nearly knock over the peasants as they hold onto the sides for dear life. The whale attempts to drive and swim away as it takes the rowboat on a ride of death. However, the whale slowly loses speed as it weakens, and the peasants are able to get close enough to kill it. They celebrate as they will be able to eat this winter and profit from the whale's blubber.
The Subadai
A strange man rides into Johannesburg with what seems to be his sons. Attached to some horses is a caravan. The man stops his horse in the town square as his sons begin opening the caravan up. Upon further inspection, one would notice the man's skin color is darker than average as are his sons. Calling out in an accent, he cries "Come men 'nd women of Oren! I bring wares to sell from the exotic plains of afar!" A curious crowd begins to gather as they look over the man's possessions. Fine tapestries, exotic fruits, and works of gold are on display for all to see. Two children run around with juices running down their faces as the strange man offers them some fruit. People are drawn to the man's wares and question his background on the land he came from.
How long do you plan to be able to work on the team: I do not see an end date or any future commitments that was prevent me from having to leave the Event Team. I would like to work there as long as they would allow me.

Saint Otto's Feast Day
In honor of Saint Otto of Vanderfell's feast day, the 3 Saints Cathedral in Karlsburg will be holding various festivities in honor of the saint. Dine, fight, and shop your heart's desire in a celebration of good fortune. All are invited as long as they have good intentions. The Brotherhood of the Golden Crow and the Karlsburg Royal Brigade will be providing security to ensure the events go unhindered by foul intentions. The various festivities are as followed:
Market Place
A new marketplace is being constructed in the square of Karlsburg and will be opened the day of the festival! Contact Maer Vanir ((Pureimp10)) or Regent Barbanov ((Birdnerdy)) if you are interested in selling your wares in Karlsburg! Performers will be performing as well during this time. Contact Father Rory of Karlsburg ((Eddywilson2)) if you are interested in performing!
The Grand Melee
A grand melee shall take place! All are allowed to participate and equipment will be supplied at the start of the melee. Each man will fend for himself in a contest of strength, luck, and skill. The last man standing will be celebrated and named Defender of Karlsburg!

The scribe smiles as he reads the reply, gladdened to hear of people with such a knowledge in history.
"You are correct in each of your statements. Petyr's claim derives from his parents, one of Carrion bloodline and the other a descendent of DeNurem bloodline. Haense has always been a kingdom which accepts all forms of culture, and you are also correct to say a major part of the Kingdom is of Raev tradition and culture. Hansetian culture has been a minority in Haense as it lacks the needed support to ensure such cultire's survival. An easy fix to that would be for the newly formed Tuetonic Order to join its Northern brethren in the North-West where Haense is being refounded by Marius Barbanov.
Historically, the Northern people have always been weaker divided than when they are united under a single banner. While I feel that shall go ignored do to pride for independence, the joining of the Teutonic Order, the founders of Hanseti, with the Haensetic people would increase the culture of Hanseti in Haense dramatically and restore the Northern powers on the battlefield once more.
