After realizing the truth of my race, my family and I had a falling out. I ran away. I've got not other place to go. What do you wish to become a citizen of Malinor: After learning the truth of my heritage, I've come here to look for any remaining members of my family. Besides this, I wish to learn more about the culture of my heritage and where I belong. Do you agree to adhere to the rules of Malinor: Yes Skills: Unfortunately, I'm young and inexperienced, but I'm prepared to work to gain the necessary skills. I have some training in archery and mining.
  2. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Astrik1111 How old are you?: 15 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern/United States Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I’m a fifteen year old girl who’s looking for a fun but serious RPG server. I love the arts – especially acting and writing (Probably where my love for RPGs comes from.). How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Probably around 45-60 minutes per day, possibly more. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: To me Roleplaying is a fun, hands on way of living an adventure. It’s a fantasy world where you can be anything, do anything, and make friends. I find it to be the most fun when people are serious about it, and I do my best to stay IC. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I’ve played a few RPGs, but none of them were ever very serious. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta gaming is when someone uses OOC knowledge while in character, or using knowledge that their character shouldn’t know. For instance, if I were to look at a map of Lord of The Craft while playing, I would be Meta-Gaming because my character shouldn’t know the way. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-Emoting is when someone in a RPG controls or pre-decides someone else’s emotions or reactions without giving the other player a chance to speak or act. This is usually exhibited through text. An example would be if I said: “Aria raised her voice to a shout and everyone shrank back in fear.” In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: OOC means anything not relating to the in game world. It’s not playing the part of your character. OOC chat should usually (if not always) be kept to the OOC channel. In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: Being in character is when you act as your character. It’s the role playing part of an RPG and definitely the most fun. What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I’ve seen from the videos and being a wandering soul, it looks fantastic. I hope it’s as fun as it looks! What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I’ve played on Massive Craft, Wild Craft, and Weirds World. I left them because of either non-serious players or poor upkeep. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes and I do. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: I was looking up RPG servers on Google and found you. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No, this is my first application. In-Character: Character Name: Aria Vento What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Wood Elf Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Aria Vento is a strange elf. Abandoned at age 4 by her parents (who had been recruited to fight in one of the many wars), Aria was raised by Lilly and Thomas Worth. The Worth’s were unable to have children of their own, so when a young baby showed up on their doorstep they considered it an act of the Gods. At first, all was well and good. The Humans hardly suspected that they were raising a young Elf and Aria was happy – blissfully unaware of her parentage. However, as she matured and her elvish features became predominate, she was soon ridiculed by her naive friends and acquaintances for her differences. Her elongated ears became a source of constant embarrassment, as did her height. Finally, when it became clear that she was not human, she gathered the courage to confront her family. Distraught, her parents admitted to her the story of how they found her. Aria was devastated by this revelation, but finally understood her strange looks. She went to great lengths to hide her features – choosing to wear a hood nearly all the time to hide her pointed ears. At age 20 (and appearing to be only 7 years old) Aria finally ran away from the only home she remembered. Because of both force of habit and embarrassment, she is very rarely seen without her hood up, and often mistaken for a human. This both annoys and pleases her, as being human is the only way she’s been accepted. She desperately wants to know her true family and what have become of them, though fears the worst. However, despite the possible outcome, Aria is determined to find her heritage and where she belongs. Aria is normally kind and has a good heart. However, because of her emotionally abusive past, she is quick to anger and has a temper like fire. She is also not afraid to speak her mind. Aria's appearance has changed almost as often as she makes an enemy - which happens to be a bit too often. However, she is almost (if not always) seen with her hood up and long reddish hair showing. Unlike some Elves, Aria wears clothes made for travel - preferring tough hides to silky cloths. Her fair skin, emerald green eyes, tall stature and slim frame are the only thing identifying her as an Elf at all... unless of course she decides to pull down her hood... Aria is currently 82 years old, though appears to be only in her early twenties. What are your Character's ambitions?: Aria desperately wants to find the outcome of her parents. However, more than that, she wants to find her place in the world. Somewhere she won’t be ridiculed or made fun of. She is willing to travel the world to find this. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Aria’s favorite tool is the bow and arrow she crafted herself when she first left home. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Aria is very skilled in crafting and forging, although she hasn’t had much practice. She loves creating things and contraptions, although she also wields a dangerous bow and arrow. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: Other Information about your Character: Aria commonly wears goggles to protect her eyes from flying sparks while forging or debris when crafting. Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Aria was just out for a leisurely stroll from the Cloud Temple when she hears commotion up ahead. The shouts and jeering of men, punctuated by the click-clacking of chain mail armor fill her ears. Aria leans forward – trying to hear more as she inches her way towards the sound. “No! Please! Sirs I beg you – that’s my entire month’s salary! Please!” “Oh shut up. You’ll earn it back, won’t you Halfling!” More laughter from the men follows. “A robbery!” Aria thinks, “And on a Halfling! The dumb brutes… why can’t they just leave well enough alone?!” Aria rounds the corner to confront them – ready for a fight. The Halfling is on the ground, backed into a rock. His expression is clearly one of terror. Two armored warriors loom over him, jeering and shouting insults at the defenseless man. In their hands they hold a medium sack full of what Aria assumes is money. “It’s no use charging in there like a maniac – they’d crush me in a second… I wonder…” Aria reaches into her bag, cocking an arrow. Aiming carefully, she exhales before loosing the first of her arrows. It reaches it mark – the bag. The arrow rips the sack from the man’s hand – imbedding it in the ground behind him. “GET IT!” Aria shouts to the terrified Hobbit. He quickly scrambles up, grabbing his bag. The warriors regain their focus, making a grab for the sack but Aria shoots two more arrows – one impales itself in his outstretched hand. The hobbit escapes with his bag, shouting a rushed thank you over his shoulder as he sprints off towards the Cloud Temple. Aria smiles to herself before quickly escaping onto a back road. “I’m not in the mood for a fight today anyway.” She thinks. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? “Hm?” Aria looks up in confusion, “Me? No, no… just browsing…” After another minute, she turns to the man, who is watching her intently. “Actually, do you by chance carry bows? My last two snapped.” “Of course we carry bows my dear! The finest in all of Alras! Whatever your heart desires!” “Uh huh. Yes, well, I’m looking for something springy… with a little bit of give. But light as well as I’m doing a bit of travelling at the moment. Preferably cherry wood… Anything like that?” The store owner seems confused for a moment before regaining his broad smile. “Why of course! We have only the finest cherry bows in the land! Here, let me show you our wares.” The man picks up a bow that had been lying in the corner. It’s obviously used and the wood is splintering in some places. “You see? What a beautiful specimen. Remarkable craftsmanship! And the cherry wood-“ “Sir,” Aria interjects, “That’s cedar wood. And I’m not positive, but I’m fairly certain that’s a child size bow… Do you have anything of use to me or not? Because I must be getting on my way soon.” The owner falters, before placing the bow down. “Ah, yes, yes of course. How silly of a mistake to make. Here! Here is the FINEST bow in the land!” The man yet a again picks up a half broken, splintering bow that was laying on its side.” “I’ll be going now sir,” Aria says, annoyed at the pretentious man, “I’ll find a bow elsewhere.” Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Aria quietly sneaks up to the hut, careful not to make a sound as she peers through the dirt encrusted window. After an extensive looking around she straitens herself, breathing a sigh of relief. “Deserted… as I thought. Well… no uses in letting a perfectly good home go to waste.” Aria glances at the sky, which is growing darker by the minute, “Plus it looks as if it’s going to storm…” Aria quickly makes her way to the front of the small cabin, entering through the small wooden door. It opens with an ominous creak. As she steps inside, she coughs – the air is thick with dirt. “Oh jeez… look at all this dust… This place must’ve been abandoned for decades. Mother would fli-…” She stops as she realizes the truth of these words. Trying to distract herself, Aria goes through the tiny home, trying to find anything of use. Finally, she comes across a large wooden chest. Upon opening it, she discovers a golden sword and four silver bars. “Fantastic! A sword! Fairly good condition too. A bit of a fix up and it’ll be good as new! And there’s enough iron here for me to buff up my boots… maybe start a set of armor…” Suddenly, thunder claps outside and rain begins in torrents. “Looks like I’m gonna be here for a while. Might as well light a fire and get started on these boots…” Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Aria quietly sneaks around the small settlement, watching the men as they laughed and drank. From the looks of the cargo, they appeared to be one of the many trading camps nestled throughout the forest. “What luck! If I can just wait ‘till they’ve fallen asleep, I can –“ As Aria takes a step, a branch snaps under her foot, sending a much too loud sound echoing through the forest. The men look right at her, a mixture of confusion and giddiness from too much rum. “Oi! Boys, look what we have here! A little lost mouse! No, no don’t be afraid – we don’t bite.” A tall, heavy man stands up, stepping towards her. His words are slurred and his footing stumbled. Aria steps backwards, adrenaline coursing through her veins. “I-I’m not lost.” She lied. “Oh, really? Is that so? Well, a pretty thing like you shouldn’t be out in the cold. Why don’t you come on over darlin’… you can stay the night.” He is closer to her now. She can smell the liquor or his breath as he slowly stumbles towards her. The rest of the group is watching with anticipation. “Thank you, but I really must be going I-“ The man grabs her wrist, nearly falling in the process. “No! Don’-*hic*-don’t go!” He tries to pull her closer, but Aria shakes him loose, making a dash into the forest. Behind her, she can hear the disappointed cries of men. “Creeps!” She thinks, “I’ll sneak back there when they fall asleep. I need to eat after all. Plus, I think I saw a map on the ground…” You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Aria walks up to crowd, pushing her way through the throng of people to the leader of the party. “Bandits! Bandits on the loose! Threatening YOUR children! Your homes! Tonight we’ll show them who’s town it is!” The crowd cheers enthusiastically. “Bandits!? You’ve got to be kidding me. I swear this sort of trouble CHASES me.” Aria thinks. “So how are you folks planning on eliminating them? Chasing them out, or…?” She asks, getting the leaders attention. He seems surprised at being confronted. “We figured we surprise them! Ya know, run in there and destroy them!” The leader thrust his sword in the air, earning yet another cheer from the crowd. Aria nearly laughed. “I certainly hope you’re not planning on just running and charging! They’ll tear you to shreds!” This earned her an uncertain look from the onlookers. “Well, might as well roll with it.” “Okay, so here’s the plan… We’ll attack them from all sides – circling them. It’ll be easy. I can’t imagine there weapons are TOO strong, but they’ll certainly pack a punch so watch out. We will give them the chance to run. If they refuse… well, use your imagination.” Anything else you would like to say?: Thank you for your time!
