  2. Dammaz Drengi (“Grudge Slayers”) [IC - Introduction] In the highlands of Urguan, where the golden fields flourish and trouble grows, a towering keep looms across the dwarven breadbasket beneath a pale sky. Its walls are rough-hewn and time-worn, smoke curling from a chimney that hasn’t gone cold in years. This is no Noble Hall nor a Chapel for the Gods. It is where work begins, and where coin changes hands. This is Dammaz Drengi — the Slayers Guild. Inside, under timber beams and banners of faded orange and black, dwarves and their allies gather by candlelight. Contracts hang plentiful on the great oak boards. Blood tainting more than a few. At the centre of the hall, a dwarf with a braided beard and an iron stare leans on a table drowned with maps and ledgers. “We don’t swear oaths here,” growls Ragni Redbeard, voice like gravel on steel. “We don’t wait on lords to act, or hope mages’ll come down from their towers.” “We take the jobs no one else will. We get it done. We get paid.” He slams a thick palm on a wax-sealed job posting. “Three to a job. Never less. You bleed together, fight together, and grow rich together.” “You don’t take the job for glory. You take it for gold.” What is Dammaz Drengi? [IC] Dammaz Drengi is a Mercenary Dwarven Adventuring Guild rooted in the farmlands of the Dwarven Kingdom of Urguan. The name is old Dwarvish for — “Grudge Slayers” — and the Great Book of Grudges has grown heavy with wrongs yet to be set right. So come, lighten the Ledger. And make your coinpurse the only thing weighing you down. It was founded by those who got tired of waiting — for kings, councils, gods or chosen ones. When danger stirs, someone has to act and that someone wears no crown, holds no mysterious destiny, nor whispered prophecies — It's men and women with fire in their veins and steel in their hands. [OOC] Dammaz Drengi is a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired mercenary guild campaign hosted on the Lord of the Craft Minecraft server. We run short, gritty mini-campaigns using light D&D mechanics and modified rules to keep sessions tight, fast, and meaningful — each event lasting 60 to 75 minutes. Slayer Clans Every contract is completed by a Slayer Clan — a party of exactly three members. These teams are built to fight together, grow together, and survive what others can’t. Every registered Slayer Clan must include at least one dwarf. We cannot become reliant on distant mercenaries with no ties or blood to this land. We solve our own problems, with our own hands and our own sweat. No Dwarf, no stamp. No stamp, no contract. If your group is short a dwarf, you may petition the Guild for a Guild-Sponsored Slayer — an NPC or DM-run dwarf adventurer who will join your missions and ensure the job gets done. Each Clan chooses its name, banner, and legacy. Some forge sagas in steel and flame. Others fall at the first sign of struggle. All are judged by their pile of completed contracts — and the blood on their boots. The Ranking System Dammaz Drengi uses a ranked contract system, where missions are unlocked by the average level of your Clan: Wood Rank (Level 1) – Pest control, escorting, gathering — beginner missions and threats. Copper Rank (Level 2) – Real work: large beasts, bandits, and worse. Iron Rank (Level 4) – The occult, the deadly — the kind of work that makes a true Drengi. Silver Rank (Level 6) – Elite threats, siege-style missions, local disasters. Gold Rank (Level 8) – The jobs no one else will take. You earn this. Clans may only take contracts equal to or below their current rank. Prove your strength. Rise in status. Survive long enough to matter. [OOC - Out of Character Info] What Is This? Dammaz Drengi is a player-run, dwarven-led mercenary guild in Urguan. It draws inspiration from: Warhammer Dwarven Slayers (without the death cult) Realistic mercenary grit over high-fantasy destiny Core Rules All players must form or join a Slayer Clan of three characters. If short a member, you can request a Guild Slayer NPC to fill the third slot. All characters use a modified D&D 5e stat sheet. Start at Level 1, cap at Level 8. Only non-magical classes are allowed and no multi-classing: Fighter Rogue Barbarian Monk (martial only) Ranger (no spellcasting) [OOC] Initially parties will only be able to participate in 1 event per week, this will be later increased to 2; and depending on the supply of willing Dungeon Masters, this will be looked upon in further detail later on. Why No Magic? This guild wasn’t built on miracles. It was built on trust, tactics, and tenacity. Magic has its place — in palaces, courts, and temples. But when something starts killing livestock or stirring in the hills, the Guild doesn’t wait. It signs the contract, sharpens the blade, and handles it. Steel solves problems faster than spells. Why Join Dammaz Drengi? You want progression-based RP with fair combat and impactful consequences. You prefer short team-focused compact events designed for 60 to 75 minutes, over adventures that stretch on for hours with huge numbers of players. You enjoy tactical combat using simple dice mechanics and abilities crafted over decades by the Dungeons and Dragons universe. You want to feel your character earn every level. You like low-fantasy realism over magical power-fantasy. You want to build a Slayer Clan with real history and reputation. How to Join Send an IC letter to Ragni Redbeard (IGN: VerdantSeraph) Or contact via Discord: [mitchell.uk] We’ll provide: Premade character sheets in book and quil form with everything you need for DnD style campaigns in Lord of the Craft. (These are customisable on request) Your spot on the Contract Board And maybe your first job — if you’re ready for it Guild Staff & Dungeon Masters Wanted! We are actively seeking Dungeon Masters and Guild Staff to liven up the Guild during events. Most events will either occur on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at 7–8PM GMT / 3–4PM EST, this hasn't been set in stone yet. DMs can create a Character Sheet and will be rewarded XP and loot appropriate to their level for hosting events. Roleplay housing within the Guild can also be provided on request. No glory. No fate. Just steel and sweat.
  3. Name: Turgon Seregon (Hakuza) Age: 26 Race: Human Skill: My skills are consist of Swordsmanship mainly, but I can do most kinds of labour if necessary and have a keen "eye", so am more than adequate to scout and do cloak and dagger work if needed. About myself: I am from a village in the Northern reaches of Human territory and have a family background as well as personal a background in Blacksmithing, but most recently in the past years, I have undergone mercenary work and have been employed under the Knight, Ser Grim-beard. I am a strong and reliable man, that always pays his debts no matter how small. I have for the longest time hardened myself through battle after battle and learnt that one must struggle tooth and nail to the top, if he wishes to achieve anything, so you can be sure that I will do my job to the highest of standards. Also I would like to add, my stay may be only temporary, as I will soon be the Chief Footman under a new found household, which am going to presume may be full time work. (Also I was invited by Octovian10)
  4. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Hakuza How old are you?: 15 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: England GMT:0 Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I’d say so, as English is my native language and very recently I had to do a lot of English examinations for my GCSE’s, although I’ve done around half of it so far in my tests each worth a single specific percentage (10%, 20%, etc.) of my English GCSE. I have so far gotten a mixture of A’s and B’s although mainly B’s, so I am confident in my grammar and can guarantee my grip on the English language. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a 15 year old male gaming enthusiast, who in his spare time loves to play roleplaying games and other games alike. I am generally an outgoing and generally fun to be around person. I can be serious and mature, but also know when to lighten the mood with a joke or two. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: This could depend greatly, but as long as I like the server I should be at least able to dedicate a few hours most days of the week and an even larger amount of the weekend. So I could potentially give around two – four hours a day or even as much as eight – ten hours a day. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: An immersive experience where you pretend to be another person, fictional character or other being, and play that role in said experience, trying to be and think like that character would, with no use of outside or personal knowledge. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have plenty of experience in Roleplaying, as I generally only play role-playing servers and on many of them have ended up with positions of large influence or position. Anyway without rabbling on, I am generally a fairly good role-player and know how to not power game, Meta game and be able to stay as my character during the immersive experience, as well as to go as far as to stay that I become my characters personality during the experience. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta Gaming is the use of real life knowledge being applied to the game world, for example not knowing the location of a certain item, dungeon or other thing inside a game and resorting to an online search to find the location. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-emoting is an act of forcing ones actions onto another character through the act of emotes and generally without the other players consent, as well as disallowing them the chance to do anything about this action. An example of Power-Emoting is “Turgon overwhelms player 1 and strikes a critical blow to his head rendering him unconscious and thus gaining victory in the duel”. In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: OOC, or more knowingly as Out of Character is the act of deviating from your designated character and talking or preforming actions as you yourself rather than the role-playing character. An example of this is suddenly telling your fellow role-players “one minute am just going to go to the toilet, wait here for me”. In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: IC, or more knowingly as In Character is the act of communicating and preforming actions as your immersive role playing character, rather than talking and preforming actions as you yourself, to do this one must deviate from his mind set if necessary and adopt his characters views and goals creating an immersive environment where he can play as this new identity. An example of this is “Right men hold the lines and draw your bows the Orcish army will arrive over the hill shortly. Also when instructed drink your potions, draw your swords and advance on command as a singular unit”. What do you expect this server will be like?: Well, it seems to be a well-developed, rooted in community that will last, am very tired of finding great roleplaying servers that I put so much time into, that eventually shut down. While this one has a nice theme, large community and a welcoming feel that dragged me towards it. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: There’s been a lot and more specifically almost 40% of the servers I’ve been on have either just made me lose interest due to large scale inactivity, lack of staff or just absence of them completely and constant griefing and harassment. While the other 60% of the servers were generally shutdown due to lack of members, money issues and not being able to continue running the server due to real life problems. The most notable servers I can remember are the star wars themed server which was only in beta, Star wars The Lost Chapters, I ended up leaving that server due to the fact, that it unfortunately was not popular and ended up being shut down by the owner, then I moved on to a very well done server named The Land of Myrinthia, which very unfortunately never got enough people for whatever reason and was shut down. I then moved to Wootcraft which was a fun, friendly and casual building server, but as time went on in the server, I grew tired of no ongoing push to play the server, because it had no roleplaying aspects, no lore and was purely a social building server, which don’t get me wrong was very fun for a short while. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have Indeed. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Indeed I do. How did you hear about us?: Minecraft Forums Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first application to become accepted into your community. In-Character: Character Name: Turgon Séregon What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): None Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Turgon Séregon is a fairly large sized, brutish, Man from a simple village in the northern borders of human territory and was the son of a Blacksmith. As a child, from the days he could walk, he was taught that he must pull his own weight and be of use to the village, thus he was taught the craft of blacksmithing. Although Turgon’s true desire existed elsewhere, and this was in perfecting his strength and becoming a great warrior, to bring honour to his household. Thus during his days, Turgon worked the blazing embers of his fiery forge and created weapons of expert skill from a young age, and during his nights he would sneak into the dark, shadow encrusted woods and practice his sword and bow skills, with weapons carefully handcrafted to perfection by none other than himself. Soon the amount of time he would spend in seclusion, deep in the woods increased and his routine and dream, turned into a deep obsession, he even forgot the reason why he practiced with the bow and sword, and only felt the urge to do so. Then one fateful day, while tending to his blazing embers within the forge, a message came from a courier, saying they were looking for any able bodied men in a mercenary troop, that would be willing to enlist as a solider to fight for coin. Turgon, seen this as a chance to leave the village and pursue a more free life, one of chance, glory and honour This lead him to thinking that he would create tales of magnificent and awe inspiring battles, captivating legends and stories of unbelievable feats. So Turgon talked to his father about leaving and he agreed thinking it was his choice in what to do with his life and no matter what he said it wouldn’t stop him, thus with nothing anchoring him to the village, he left with whatever he could carry on his large broad back, and set off to create his own destiny. After a few years Turgon had left the mercenary band, in the space of the few years since he had left home and began a life of a wandering sell sword or if you would like to call it, a soldier of fortune. Shortly after his leave Turgon was found in another mercenary band, although a much more famous one at that, they served under the highest bidder. Although they had an extremely shady background, what was undeniable was their skill in the sword and is why you can pretty much guess why Turgon joined them, but as the world went on war ravaged the lands and even the mercenary group he belonged to vanished within this maelstrom of events, so now 26 years old and with no were to go and nothing to call his own but the armour on his back, he sought a new home and a new path to follow. What are your Character's ambitions?: Turgon’s ambitions have always been mastery in the sword and bow, but now he seeks a new path to follow, which will lead him to new and untold ventures. Thus Turgon now will fight his way to the top using both his strength and strategic prowess to make his name in these turbulent times, while also slowly honing his skills in the art of arms. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The Sword is Turgon’s favourite tool. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Although Turgon’s prowess with the sword is notable, he is a remarkable smith, even to this day he crafts his own weapons and armour when he gets the chance. He is considered extremely talented and could of probably had a comfortable life as a smith if he was not tempted by the call of the sword. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Turgon is somewhat the strong and silent type, but when needed he can become the commanding and dominating force that drives a group forward, although this is a rare side of Turgon as he prefers to work alone. He sees others as only a burden and extra baggage when pursuing a goal. He also believes leadership should not be in the hands of the people, but in one dominating force, also when Turgon makes a friend he is incredibly loyal and he sees no difference to them, than he would a brother. A strange habit of Turgon is his insecure building habits, with times changing and tension rising in the land. He will always build his shelters armoured to the teeth in defences and traps, as well as constantly looking for possible quick in the moment alliances that are convenient to helping him succeed. People generally at first react to Turgon as a simple ignorant brute, but as they learn to know him they can easily see he is a rare sought that has an unrelenting drive and the power to inspire others. Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Turgon’s would stop and assess the strength of the two armed warriors in front of him and also think of what benefits he would gain by helping the half-ling, unable to think of anything substantial he would gain and the fact that the two armed robbers are not mere bandits and are most likely former mercenary’s with no work, Turgon would leave the Half-ling to his fate, as power is everything in this world whether it be physical, economical or intellectual and a half-ling with seemingly none of which won’t survive long anyway. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Turgon firmly places his hand on the market stands ledge and looks the merchant stalwartly in the eyes and says “I want fifth-teen iron ingots, 4 and half kilos of coal and I also want to sell these Ender pearls”. Turgon likes conversations to be only filled of important information useful at the time, he greatly dislikes idle chit chat and would prepare to get straight to the point. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Turgon suddenly stops from his animal tracking and notices in his peripheral vision a small run down hut, he cautiously enters after checking the area for and tracks and traps and searches the house with great attention, in doing so he finds a gold sword, most likely ornamental but still worth a great deal to some rich fool who spends money on such trivial things, and even a few iron bars in moderate condition which could be easily crafted into some important tools. Seeing this golden opportunity Turgon, would take all the loot and end the tracking session, since he found a golden sword he could probably sell it for a quick few gold and spend a few days resting in the inn. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Depending on the situation there are two things that could happen, if Turgon had valuables worth trading or some coin on him, he would gladly engage in a conversation and begin some bartering for food or just out right buying it, but if he had nothing on him at the time and it was starting to seem grim, Turgon would say he was just say he wanted a look around and when doing this he would note the location of the camps previsions and supply’s and then leave later on after a talk with the people to derive any suspicion, then later in the night while cloaked in the darkness he would go to the encampment and set ablaze select tactical locations to draw people away from the previsions where he would then steal as much as he could carry and make away with the food, without a trace if the gods willed it on that day. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Turgon would look at the pay offered and if the pay was substantial he would most likely accept the offer, even if the risk was great. Since this would be away of training his arms skills even further, getting himself a name and even a bit of coin on the side. So for Turgon this wouldn’t be a bad deal as long as it paid for his continued patronage at the inn. Anything else you would like to say?: No.
