  1. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: Conciliatory How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone: Central Standard Time/ USA Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have red, understood, and I do agree to the rules. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have roleplayed on Habbo and Gaia before in several completely different roleplays. I have been roleplaying since about 2008. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I saw a post on a Minecraft forum about it a long time ago before I even bought Minecraft. I was simply looking at different Mods and became ecstatic when I found a roleplaying server. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/66711-acceptederik-blackthornes-application/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes I have posted the application on the Minecraft Forum. Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes I have read the Elven lore and I ensure that I will make use of it and follow it in my biography. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Roleplaying to me is taking the role of a specific character who's personality may or may not be similar to yours. Roleplaying is not defined by how fast you type, but by how well you can carry out your character's role. Meta-gaming: Meta-Gaming to me is using knowledge that you gained oocly and using it icly without doing any proper roleplay to legitimately obtain it. There's many examples of Meta-Gaming such as knowing your opponent's weaknesses just by reading it on their biography or maybe knowing the secret identity of a character just by hearing it from someone oocly. Power-emoting: Power-Emoting to me is carrying out actions against other people without even giving them in opportunity to respond appropriately. For example: "*as I send my blade to his neck it would ram off without missing at all*". In this situation you don't give your opponent a chance to react which is unfair. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Azarath Nightshade Current Age: 136 Sub-race (if any): Dark Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): As a child, Azarath had a loving mother and father who cared for each other and him dearly. He was raised with grand morals and was given a lot of freedom because of his peaceful, helpful, and good nature. His parents were scholars and well respected users of magic. His father was named Avactus, and his mother was named Meronym. One day, during an experiment, something went horribly wrong – an accident occurred. Or at least, that’s how it was described as. What started as a simple debate turned into a full out argument between Azarath’s parents thus sparking tensions. His parents had different theories on some aspects of magic that neither could agree with. His father was aggressive at this point because he simply couldn’t believe that his own wife degraded his beliefs. When Meronym had her back turned, Avactus wanted to teach her a lesson. He didn’t expect that new fire spell to be so potent; all he wanted to do was singe some of her hairs. He held her charred body in his hands as he tried to do anything to save her life. Azarath simply watched the whole thing in shock. Speechless, he looked to the ground as his mother finally passed on. Since that day Avactus had stricken fear in him by infecting his mind with lies such as if he had ever told the authorities about what really happened to his mother, he would be tortured by Iblees for an eternity. Avactus still loved his deceased wife and sought ways to bring her back from the dead. He became obsessive with his studies as he tried to find a way to reanimate her corpse; of course this was all in vain. Avactus neglected Azarath since then so Azarath ended up taking care of himself from an early age. When he turned 20, without a word, he left his father to his madness forever. He has pledged to stay away from magic forever at first, but had decided that he should educate himself on the topic, following in his parents’ footsteps. He feels that if he is properly educated on the applications of magic, then what happened with his mother and father won’t happen again. He would also like to educate others on magic whenever he learns it himself. Azarath now explores the world trying to grasp as much knowledge as possible while helping anyone he can along his travels – especially children. He doesn’t wish for any of them to have a terrible childhood such as his. Ambitions for the Future: He would like to learn about the different types of magic and its origin and then pursue learning some for himself. Also, when he is ready, he would like to return to his father and see what he's up to. Personality: Azarath is mostly quiet and can sometimes give off a dark feeling to those that approach him. He doesn’t do this on purpose however. He is simply not very trusting of those around him and doesn’t wish to show that much emotion. Sometimes he can have a particularly dark brand of humor which some can find pretty disturbing. If you get to know Azarath, then you’d know that he is a good person at heart. Skills: He is an expert swordsman and critical thinker. His aptitude for knowledge makes him an excellent strategist when it comes to combat. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Glowing purple eyes, platinum white hair, charcoal skin, light metal armor and cape. He has facial tattoos as well and a stern look. Any other details you wish to share about your character: When he looks into your eyes, it's almost as if he is looking into your soul. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: Azarath stops and looks at the scene unfolding before him. His first thought is to grab for his sword, but he remembers the already low population of elves. He was clutching the hilt of his sword in anger unknowingly. He let's go of the hilt and decides to walk up to the group of elves. He brutally moves right through the crowd towards the small elf child in defense. As he reaches the child, he stands in front of him so that the crowd of older elves looks himself in the eyes. "So this is how you want our children to grow up? In fear of their own brothers and sisters? We have enough problems as it is in this world and you needn't add to it. Move on with your day and leave this child alone!" says Azarath. The crowd grudgingly moves away from the scene, leaving Azarath and the boy alone. Azarath gives the small elven child a couple of coins before walking off. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: Azarath looks to the hefty sack of golden coins, envious. Thoughts of what he could buy with that money flash through his head, but a thought echos in the back of his mind. (Don't do it.) (But why not?) (It isn't the right thing to do.) Azarath stares at the man for a while, contrasting thoughts playing in his head until the opposing parts of his brain finally reach a consensus. He helps the man off of the ground along with his pouch. He then puts the pouch back into the man's hand after giving him the cane. Delighted, the old man gives Azarath a couple of gold coins for helping him. Azarath has warm thoughts in his mind because he helped him, but he doesn't show it. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Azarath marvels at all of the wares that the trader has for sell, taking specific note of a jewel encrusted sword. The trader sees him eyeing it and puts up a price. "You like that sword, eh? It's only 100 gold pieces my boy," says the Trader. Azarath stares at the man, blankly - offering no words. He sees the trader's travel schedule pinned against the wall in a dark corner of the trader's wagon. "Do you talk at all?" says the Trader. "I can't afford this sword, but I believe I can offer another service...." says Azarath. "I've seen your travel schedule. You're going through the wilderness this afternoon," says Azarath. "How did you...." says the Trader. "Nevermind that. In exchange for me securing your safe passage, the sword could be a sufficient payment." "Quite the offer Dark Elf, and if you so happen to die, I suppose I keep the sword anyway. It's a deal." Azarath set off with the trader at dusk, headed towards the wilderness.

When they both ended up dying I buried them and set off for adventure. What do you wish to become a citizen of Malinor: I wish to become a citizen of Malinor because I feel that in this brief moment of my life that I should settle down and build up my skills and also get a couple of Minas for working. Also I feel that I should interact more with my Elven kind Do you agree to adhere to the rules of Malinor: Yes I agree to adhere to the rules of Malinor. 3. *A small piece of tattered paper would be posted at the sanctuary* -Name: Erik Blackthorne -Age: 50 -Gender: Male -Race: Wood Elf -Occupation: Unemployed I am a traveling Wood Elf that seeks wisdom. I have very little skills and those only have to do with being a lumberjack and farming. On my travels I have experienced many dangers... dodging the arrows of a hostile skeleton, or even running away from a stalking Ghast. That is why I seek to learn how to use a bow so that I may have some protection on my journeys. I will be normally found around the Cloud Temple or at the Wood Farm Northeast of the Cloud Temple.
  4. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Conciliatory How old are you?: 13 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Central Standard Time/USA Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I am fluent with the English language. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a very different individual compared to most of my age group. I'm always calm and peaceful and I always try to avoid drama and trouble. I exercise and eat healthy as the body should always be taken care of. I'm also trying to get back into sports. As a child I was forced into sports so I sort of stopped liking them for a while. Religious-wise I am studying Buddhism. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I could be on for 2-3 hours every day or more. It all depends on if I have plans or not. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me is taking the role of a specific character who's personality may or may not be similar to yours. Roleplaying is not defined by how fast you type, but by how well you can carry out your character's role. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I used to roleplay on Habbo retros for about 1-2 years before I finally left as they can be extremely dramatic. Also they have things like DoF (Dual of Fate) which is basically roleplaying and the looser has to leave the server forever. The DoF is specifically based on typing speed and it is very stupid if you ask me. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming to me is using knowledge that you gained oocly and using it icly without doing any proper roleplay to legitimately obtain it. There's many examples of Meta-Gaming such as knowing your opponent's weaknesses just by reading it on their biography or maybe knowing the secret identity of a character just by hearing it from someone oocly. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-Emoting to me is carrying out actions against other people without even giving them in opportunity to respond appropriately. For example: "*as I send my blade to his neck it would ram off without missing at all*". That's just a big no-no. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server will be great for roleplaying as the rules are strict and specific. Also there are applications which also contributes to the fact that the roleplaying in here will be organized and fun. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I very recently started playing Minecraft Roleplaying Servers and the only other one I have played was MagicaCraft. MagicaCraft was extremely horrible in my opinion. Diamonds were EXTREMELY easy to obtain and everyone simply just randomly killed each other with no apparent reason. The beginner classes were overall useless and you had to pay for higher classes. There wasn't really anything to do in there if you ask me. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes I have read, interpreted and I do agree to the rules. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes I do promise to abide by these rules and laws. How did you hear about us?: I heard about this server a while ago but I forgot about it. I now just recently stumbled upon it again and I am here writing my application now. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No I have not previously made an application. In-Character: Character Name: Erik Blackthorne What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Wood Elf Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Appearance ================ Erik is slender with a bit of muscle. His hair is a vibrant forest green that matches the leaves of the trees and flows in the wind. His eyes are a mixture of amber and crimson. His skin is tanned with a couple of freckles scattered over his body. When it comes to his clothing it is usually loose clothing made out of fabric and leather. His clothing mainly consists of black, gray, brown and gold colors with some fur in it. Personality ================ Erik is calm and wise for his age to only be 50 years old in Elven years. He never seeks trouble or drama and when it does so happens to come to him he tries to ward it off in a non-violent manner. If all else fails, he knows how to defend himself appropriately. Background ================ In Erik’s earlier years he was always fascinated with magic and higher forms of knowledge. His mother always supported and encouraged him however his father did not. Erik’s father would always try to force Erik to hunt and farm like a Wood Elf should do but he was never willing. On the hunting trips Erik would always bring some books along to read in secrecy while his dad wasn’t looking. A couple of years later his Mother had got infected with a serious illness. Erik nourished her everyday but his efforts were in vain. His mother died soon after she contracted the disease. After that Erik was rather quiet before finally coming to the conclusion that her soul has drifted toward another form. Where her soul went, Erik doesn’t know but he believes that there is still something after death. When his mother died Erik’s father started becoming abusive. Erik got used to the abuse after a while, it not hurting him anymore. Seeing Erik’s blank expressions his father would start to do self-harm to himself as his son would not suffer anymore. Soon Erik’s father committed suicide. Despite all the physical and mental abuse he forgave his father for his sins and buried him besides his mother. Erik then took his belongings and left the house to wander the land of Asulon for wisdom. Erik is now 50 years old and his life is just starting, the rest of his story has yet to be written. Will the sound of his name bring happiness to people or will it make them cower in the corner? Or maybe his name will simply just fade out of existence… What are your Character's ambitions?: Erik seeks to gain intelligence, wisdom, battle prowess and the ability to use magic. Also Erik seeks for the "truth". What is the reason for the existence of life? How was the world created? Erik does not just believe what he reads or hears, he must somehow see or experience it himself before accepting it as true. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Bow and staff. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Erik is very adept at creative thinking. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? As Erik leaves the Cloud Temple he would see the Halfling in distress. He knows that he doesn’t have any weapons to fend off the heavily armed warriors harassing the Halfling so he must make some sort of strategy to help him out. After taking a deep breath Erik would seem to walk up to the warriors. “Having fun harassing him?” says Erik to the warriors. “This isn’t any of your business, I advise you to carry on.” says Warrior 1. “You best listen Elf, you don’t want to see us angry…” says Warrior 2. “Well while you’re trying to rob a poor Halfling, have you ever thought to how you would share the money you gained from him? I mean he is a Halfling and he isn’t necessarily rich. How do you plan to share such a little amount?” says Erik. “I guess you’re right lad. I’ll just be taking the money all for myself then.” says Warrior 1. “What do ye think this is mate? I’m taking the gold!” says Warrior 1. Furious at each other the two guards start arguing with each other. While the two guards are distracted Erik gives the signal to the Halfling to run away. Erik then seems to walk away from the scene, giving a smile to the Halfling as he wanders off again. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Erik would then seem to look at the man’s wares for a while before finally eyeing a couple of books in the far corner of the stall. “What are those?” says Erik “Just some old books I found in me shelves, ain’t nothing too useful, just some of them fairy tales.” says the Merchant. “Oh, well I would like to take them off of your hands please.” says Erik. “Are ye serious mate? Oh well, I ain’t complaining. You can have them for one piece each.” says the Merchant. Erik would then seem to smile at the good deal he got on the books as he pays the Merchant and walks away, already digging into one of the books he bought. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Erik would eye the hut suspiciously before walking into it. As he notices the special materials and tools inside it he would begin thinking about what he should do. He would then seem to be digging through the the chest for a hint of who the hut belongs to. While digging through it he would smell something rotten close to him. He would then seem to notice the dead body on the bed. Thinking that the hut belonged to the now deceased man he would dig a grave next to the hut for the man that passed on and then he left the hut without taking anything, wanting the man to rest in peace. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? As Erik stumbles upon the trading camp he would walk from tent to tent, looking at the precious items and the aged people that occupy them. He would then seem to look at what little gold is in his pocket before trading it just for some knowledge and tales from them. After listening to their stories and advice Erik would start to walk off into the wilderness right before an elderly woman tosses a piece of bread at Erik with a smile. “Thank you,” said the woman, “It has been so long since I had a decent conversation with such an intelligent lad in this world filled with drama and evil” Erik then returned the smile to her and nodded as he walked off into the wilderness, eating his piece of bread as he wanders off to wherever he may end up next. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: After Erik hears of the troublesome bandits he would begin to run toward their fortress just a few minutes before the raiding party does. He would be sneaking around the fortress, analyzing it for a strategy. As Erik notices the raiding party just about a mile away, he would shoot down the bandit lookouts with his bow and arrow so that they don’t alert everyone else. Erik would then seem to sneak into the fortress, making noises inside of it to lead all of the bandits outside except their leader. Erik would lock them out as he walks upstairs where the leader is. Erik would look at the leader in her eyes with a blank expression on his face. “I’d hate to hurt a lady…” says Erik. “Don’t think for a minute that I can’t whoop you in battle boy!” says the Bandit Leader. After some thrashing around, Erik would seem to tie up the lady with some minor injuries to his body. Erik would leave a small piece of paper with the letter “E” on the lady’s head as he jumps out the window right before the raiding party burst through the door. Anything else you would like to say?: I had to redo this because Firefox wanted to crash on me. Luckily I did the Open-Response questions on Microsoft Word. Besides that I hope you will take this application into consideration.
