In-Character Details
Character Name: Elias Stevenson
Character Race: Human
Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Elias was born into a small household on the outskirts of Solace. When he was younger, he would often travel with his father into the markets browse the wares within. It was there he began to learn what his father claimed was the most important skill, the ability to barter effectively with merchants. Elias dearly respected his father and took many of his teachings and philosophies to heart. He never stole anything of material value nor satisfied his greed, for, as his father taught him, those were the quickest paths to the gallows. It was in his fathers’ shop, for his father was a wainwright by trade, where Elias learned the value of hard work.
It was with these in mind that Elias decided to become apprenticed to a tradesman. He spent several years learning to be a carpenter. Unfortunately, in his seventeenth year, his father was severely injured when a wagon under repair fell from its blocks while he was repairing the axel. In order to help support his family, Elias left his master and began poaching in the forests to the southeast of the city. Despite his aptitude for hunting, his father disagreed whole-heartedly with Elias’ new trade. Elias grudgingly heeded his father’s words and returned to his former master. His master would not accept him back, however, for he had already found a new apprentice, so he began looking for work within the city. It was at this point that he began to take up odd jobs for the merchants, running messages and tools between them at their direction. In time he came to realize that he enjoyed this career far more than any previous occupation, for it kept him in shape and he often got to see new parts of the city that he never realized had existed.
Three years hence, Elias’ father died quite suddenly from a sickness. The death of his father devastated him, but no more than his mother. Within two seeds, he was forced to bury his mother as well, who died of grief due to the passing of her husband. His meager jobs would not sustain the life he was living for much longer and he was not nearly so skilled in neither his father’s trade nor that of a carpenter as was to be expected, so he sold his father’s shop, the tools Elias believed he would not need, and his family home. He began searching for any job that would take him someplace outside the city, whether it be with a caravan, a roving band of gypsies, or just as a messenger to the nearby towns. It wasn’t long at all before one of the merchants contacted him to take a parcel to one of the residents of Arethor. He was more than glad for this opportunity and accepted it gratefully. It was here he began his career as a courier, moving from place to place and spending just as much time in The Wilds as in the human cities.
What are your characters ambitions?: Beyond making enough money to eat well in the cities he visits, he strives to see as much of the land as possible. In time he hopes to be able to settle down and finish learning either his father’s trade or that of the carpenter.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character?
Open-Response-QuestionsEach question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.
Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?
*Upon hearing the calls of the dwarf, Elias makes his way through the thick crowd, trying to avoid pushing anyone if he can*
Elias: Ah, well met friend, I’m looking for the barracks of the Order. Do you think you might point me in the right direction?
Dwarf: *Shakes his head* Nay, I’m sorry, lad. Not made me bearings here meself but, while you’re here, why don’t ye have a look at what I’ve got.
Elias: *Quickly scans crowd around him* Ah, well… Yes, I suppose I have the time. *Begins looking through the items arranged on the stall before picking up a satchel and inspecting it thoroughly*
Dwarf: Ah, fine choice, lad, that’s made from the finest sheep-skin and lined with-
Elias: *Cuts the dwarf off with a flick of his wrist* I’ll give you five minas for this.
Dwarf: Nay, lad, I can’t let such a fine pouch go for so cheaply. How about twelve?
Elias: *Ponders for a moment, nodding slightly* I’ll give you eight and no more.
Dwarf: *Considers the counter offer seriously* Aye, lad, ye got a deal.
Elias: *Reaches for his coin-purse only to find it missing. He mutters a swear under his breath* It seems I won’t be doing business with you after all. *He sighs and replaces the satchel on the stall* Good day to you. *He looks around sharply to see if he can spot the cutpurse, and slips back into the crowd*
You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?
*Upon seeing the scene, Elias quietly considers the situation. He knows he is no match for the hulk standing before him, but he knows the person he is looking for happens to be a Dwarf. Quickly making up his mind, he steps toward the scene, determined to improvise a solution to the situation*
Elias: *Waves to the Orc* Hail friends! Might you be- *Pulls out a paper and pretends to read it* K- Kru- *Tries mouthing a name*
Orc: *Cuts Elias off with a wave of his fist* NUB! Now go ‘way, Shara!
Dwarf: *Looks at Elias incredulously*
Elias: Now come now, how can you know it’s not you if you won’t let me finish tal-
Orc: *Turns to Elias, taking a step toward him*
Elias: *Swallows air but holds his ground, grasping behind his back to make sure his dagger is still hidden there* I- I- Er… Well-
Dwarf: Are ye quite done, lad? This is between me an’ the greenskin.
Elias: *Realizes he’s overstepped his bounds and backs away from the Orc, quickly* I- Er, I’ll just be… *Back into a pillar away from the advancing Orc*
Dwarf: *Flicks a rock at the Orc’s back* Oi! I’m over here!
Orc: *Snarls at Elias and returns to the Dwarf, continuing the confrontation*
Elias: *Thankful for the intervention, he scrambles away to wait and see whether the Dwarf survives the confrontation*
Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?:
*Elias reaches to try and steady the Old Man but misses completely and the man hits the ground heavily*
Elias: Sir! Are you quite alright? *Extends a hand to the man, but eyes the coins as he does so*
Old Man: Ah? Oh, yes. Thank you. *Takes Elias’ hand*
Elias: *Helps the old man to his feet and escorts him to a nearby log* Are you travelling or simply on a walk?
Old Man: It is kind of you to ask, but it really is none of your concern.
Elias: If you believe so, but at least allow me to offer you my own walking stick. *Offers his flimsy branch to the Old Man*
Old Man: I don’t mean to inconvenience you. *Accepts the stick anyway and tests its strength*
Elias: Now, I’m afraid my business is quite time sensitive. Fair travels, sir.
