  1. There doesn't seem to be anyone on the server, is it down?

  2. HAELUN'OR CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION: Name: Genivieve Elenstar Truename ((MCName)): GennieLightdust Origin: How can you declare you are Mali'thill: Both of my parents are Mali. My mother was an herbalist in Aegis and my father was a Forester with close ties to wood-elf friends. Why do you wish to become a citizen of Haelun'or: First and foremost safety. The streets of Normandor are rough and rowdy, humans are loud, orcs are disgusting, I just want peace as I earn enough minas to transport my ailing mother to Haelun'or. What is your personal vision for our blessed race: I hadn't given it much thought beyond a responsibility to lead our elven cousins and keep them safe; for the Mali'thill are the wisest among all Elves. What does maehr'sae hiylun'ehya mean to you: My mother says it is a blessing. That it means, "May you be blessed with wisdom, purity and long life." What Elven phrase do you particularly take to heart? Please explain why: Mali sirame taliyna'leh maehr, Elvish honor lives in wisdom. An elf who doesn't heed the warning is liable to be impulsive, volatile and misbehaved, losing his peers high regard. What is the subject of the first book you will submit to the college: Flora of the Wilds of Malinor. What would be your reaction if you ever saw a human, orc and unknown Mali'aheral travel the roads from Alras together: Besides hide? I'd see if the Mali was in trouble or being held captive with the orc, or if it twas the other way around. I would ignore a Mali traveling peacefully with an orc at his side. What home would you like to receive: (if left blank you will be granted one of the free residences, if one is available). I should like a home close to the fields or a home with enough space to plant a small garden for my herbalism. Are there any other details about yourself you wish to relay to the council: The Silver City is lovely, I hope you shall accept my application and let me stay amongst you. ...
  3. Thanks for the welcome Ebo :)

  4. Congrats on being accepted, welcome to Asulon! If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. I have an elf, so I know most of their lore.

  5. Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name:GennieLightdust How old are you?:Over 18, old enough that my stepdaughter is getting married next year. Haven't you heard? It's impolite to ask a lady her age. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: US Eastern, located in the sunny land of retirement; Florida, USA. Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: Good lord I hope so; or my English teacher will roll in her grave, rise, and haunt me with a 50 pound textbook aimed for my head. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: When I was younger, single, and without a mortgage; I used to tabletop RP and GM, every week with friends. Today, it's a bit harder to make that weekly commitment, so I've been mulling over the idea of online RP. I already enjoy Minecraft, and your server is a good place to start. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: Quite by accident. I was doing research for minecraft on the forums and wiki and I misclicked. Well in that time a small thread with the title "Lord of the Craft" showed up on the sidebar. Being a moderate LoTR fan I ha to check it out. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: Well this is the first one so.....yeah. Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/! : I will post it, after I finish it here. ---> Minecraft Forum App <--- Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying for me, is an immersive experience; encompassing thought and action in which I, the player, take on the persona of an imaginary person and explore the role-playing environment from that perspective. Also known as Cowboys and Indians in the pre-digital era. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:Not a fan of meta-gaming and using out-of-character knowledge to create favorable situations and advantages for the abusing player. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:The aggravating act of someone emoting an action toward you, then rudely adding your response. Usually it's a problem with RP combat. The proper form is *kicks dirt towards the eyes of his opponent* The improper form is *kicks dirt into the eyes of his opponent, blinding him*. In-Character Details Character Name: Genivieve Character Race: High Elven Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Genivieve was named after a close human traveling companion of her mother, Laurilel. The two ladies had survived the exodus from Aegis along with Orolen; a wood elf forester and Laurilel’s husband. The journey nearly cost Laurilel her life, but her beloved friend saved her, nursing her back to health. Laurilel had looked for a way to honor her companion after the distinguished elderly woman passed shortly after the crossing. When she became aware of the she carried her daughter within, Geni was bequeathed the namesake. As creating a settlement in Asulon was difficult for many of the races, Geni’s father, Orolen, perished defending his family and fellow travelers against a band of renegade Orcs. She’s been raised by her mother, to follow in her footsteps and lead a new life in the new land. Genivieve is a very young elven maiden of 30 who has no knowledge of what Aegis was like other than the stories her mother has told her. Even though Laurilel is a High Elf, she did fall in love with Orolen, a Wood Elf, and has mourned him since he died during Geni’s infancy. Because of this pairing, Geni’s eyes are aqua and her hair is a natural nutmeg reddish-brown. Geni lives as an impoverished noble elven lady, as her mother is too frail to earn a living. She has only a few articles of clothing worthy of presentment. She’s shy, reserved, but not timid. She is too curious for her own good sometimes, possesses intelligence, and on her dark days becomes almost poisonously envious of the good fortune others have had but denied to herself. In her worldly interactions, there is usually an undercurrent of naiveté that can be attributed to mere inexperience. She sees the world as new and unfolding; the prospect of becoming her own woman provides ambition. She has no current lover; her mother’s despairing condition has cautioned Geni against falling in love. What are your characters ambitions?: She’s been living under the dark cloud of her mother’s home, located in a small village outside of Haelun'or. She wants to escape that dreary life and secure a more bright future for herself. Is there an end goal? Well, being so young she won't really know until she can experience the world and decide for herself. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: I've picked this particular personality type because I think having a character who will evolve, will provide a richer experience myself as a roleplayer using your server system for the first time. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? "Thars no better wares than dwarven rares!", called out a bearded dwarf, obviously down on his luck from his patched clothing and his undesirable location relative to the other shops. I barely heard him as my eyes took in the size of the City of Arethor. 'How am I to find one human amidst all this?', I thought; panicked. "Eh now you cloud-headed Elf! Watch where yer going! Ye been living under a rock ye nevar seen a city before?!" exclaimed the dwarf crossly. I jumped in surprise to see that I had nearly run into the poor dwarf. I could feel my face flush in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry master dwarf, it's my fault entirely. Please excuse my rudeness.", I apologized. Down the row, a group of girls outside a wool shop were slyly pointing toward me and giggling behind their hands. The dwarf followed my gaze and scowled. "Eh, don't bother, just git outta my way so's I can see my customers heh.", the dwarf made shooing motions as if I were a chicken. I continued down the street when I caught the dwarf mutter under his breath, "Pft never a courier boy when you need him.". Suddenly I had an idea. "I can do it," I said turning around. "In fact, I'll do it for two sets of directions. One being the destination of your courier message and the second directions to the Masons' Guild hall. I may be new, but I'm here right and now with service at a bargain.". I planted my feet in front of the dwarf, jaw stubbornly set. He mulled it over and either had some new-found confidence in me or just liked the bargain price. I'm guessing the latter. "Alright then young elf. Meh name's Tamsin. I jus' have these thin nails, they gotta go to Louis Carpenter, ye can get there by...". The dwarf explained the way to both places, before putting the package in my hands and threatening to call the Watch if they weren't delivered. Spirits higher now that I knew where I had to go, started toward Tanner Lane. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? 'I should never had started from the city this late," I thought, full of regret. Although if I were honest with myself, I could have worked for an overnight pallet in the Inn district than have had to start back at nearly dusk. Overnight pallets usually involved having to scrub and clean floors however, and I did enough of that at home. I didn't hate my life, or chore-work exactly, it was just...boring. "An I said, I dun' care what ye smelly brain thinks what I'm thinkin. It ain't ye business now get going out of me face!". A familiar voice and brown beaded face stood agitated up the road, facing down what looked like a large...Orc. "Tiny little man, I will crush you for the insult!", roared the Orc, reaching for his axe. I broke into a run exclaiming, "Master Tamsin, there you are! I am so sorry I'm late, it won't happen again.". I didn't stop running until I was at the dwarf's side looking up at the Orc. He looked startled, as if he hadn't noticed me walking up and had just appeared out of thin air. "I'm very sorry if my master upset you sir Orc-", I began. "My name is Kragen!". The Orc snapped at me. But his hand stopped reaching for his weapon. Tamsin's expression was going from florid, to confused, and due to arrive at angry soon. "Yes, sir, Kragen. I'm late you see, and I've gotten us off schedule, it's made my master very irritable and upset. It's not you, it's me. Master Tamsin just hasn't had a chance to be mad at me yet." I was running out of ways to apologize and started to babble. "You are a stupid, silly elf. Never would make it as an Orc apprentice." Kargen snorted before giving Tamsin that was more like a grimace. "Heh, good luck with this one." He turned to leave, walking down the road. "Thank you!". I called out, waving. Tamsin finally found his voice. "Are ye out of yer skull? Whatcha do that for! I woulda floored that smelly monkey with my own axe. I didn't need a slip of an elven lass barely out of leading strings to help me!". Tamsin's voice was rising with each sentence that he got past his angrily clenched jaw. "And even if ye wanted to help, its an Orc, ye just have to knock em around a bit to get ye point across.". "I don't know how to fight with a weapon Master Tamsin, it's why I talke-". He interrupted my explanation. "How by the blessing of the First Beard do ye expect to get around the world without any weapon training?". He asked incredulously. I smiled. "Well if that is a lovely offer of training, I'd gladly take it.". I answered warmly. The beleaguered dwarf started to sputter, which only made me grin wider. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?: I rushed over to the fallen man. "Are you alright sir?", I asked. He rolled over on his side and peered up at me. His grey hood fell back, revealing his balding scalp, wrinkled visage and lack of pointed ears. "You are very far from your own lands.", I commented. "Not really; I am as well known in Haelun'or as I am in Arethor, Elven maid. It just so happens that my cane gave out before I did. You, however, seem a bit young to be traveling alone. My name is Gaeren.", he replied, pushing himself up into a sitting position. "Genivieve, sir, let me help you up.". I slid my arm underneath his shoulder and helped Gaeren to his feet. "Let's get you over to this tree stump over here and I'll cut you down another walking stick. It's not so different from chopping wood for a fire." I had to unsling my pack to dig out the small hand axe I used at home for chores. He cleared his throat. "Ahem, perhaps my satchel of Minas?", he asked pointedly. I blushed and nibbled on my bottom lip. It's a tell-tale habit that I desest which only seems to make me do it more. He started undoing an extra bag from his belt. "Of course, how thoughtless of me.". I began gathering up the Minas into what was left of the bag. 'Only a few coins missing from this would help so much, it's not like he could run me down.', I speculated, the sly thought worming its way into my mind. I had to bit my lip harder against temptation. I quickly finished the task and nearly threw the coins onto the old man's lap. "You were thinking about taking some weren't you?", he asked sharply. I faced him wide-eyed. "I'm not desperate enough to steal.", I replied, pride adding false strength to my voice. "Not what I said and you know it young Elf. Think I didn't see the look on your face?.". "I'm sorry.", I looked down at my feet, ashamed. "At least you're honest. Can't say the same for many others in the same situation. I could use an honest helper. Go cut me another walking stick, if you're looking for work I have some.", he said, waving a hand toward the trees by the road. I couldn't believe it. For the first time I felt real, genuine hope for the first time since running away. "Yes sir.", I said. ****ADDENDUM**** I'm not sure where I should put this and I did have trouble tracking down what the server rules were in particular for potion brewing as it is something I that I love about minecraft. If I had to think about where my character would be in a few years, I would say, a successful potions mistress. Please no Harry Potter jokes =p.
